i've been using samsung all my life, bought i7500, and what did SAMSUNG do...? abandon all their customer with no upgrade for this phone!!! WTH, other android users already have their 2.x android, and we stick to 1.6 until the end of the world!! and you doesn't seem to care.... u spit on my face! i never buy samsung product again!!!

In Canada Bell is the carrier - do not waste your money you cannot even watch this video on it because the YouTube app has move beyond the 1.5. os. Wait until the 2.1 os is offered on another phone. I purchased this phone big mistake. You cannot download Google Earth because 1.5 does not support it. The list goes on.

Hero's updated rom has solved all the lag issues, I was interested in this phone but without the sense ui interface its not wirth jumping from the hero for the amoled screen.

i just ordered the galaxy.. i would have rathered the htc hero, but it's on sprint and it doesn't have the features i expect on a phone.. like a 3.5mm jack..

i did a little research and found that there is a hero rom for the samsung galaxy.. so as soon as i put it on my phone, i should be all set.

Reviews I've read about the Hero say that while it has better features, it's not powerful enough to run them. The Hero has flash, but it's almost useless because of the choppiness of the playback. Same for most of the tweaked android OS features. They look cooler but make the phone run like shit. Wait for a more powerful HTC phone.

As for the i7500, I've read nothing but good things about it. I'm in the US, so I have a couple more months to read up on this baby before Tmobile offers it here..

Nice, but i don't get why they made the buttons at the bottom so old fashioned looking. It just ruins the whole look of the handset, which apart from those buttons, looks pretty damn fine!

Don't compare this to the Magic. The Magic is an old phone its been out in the UK for a long time. Compare it to the Hero. It appears that the Samsung beats the hero on paper on most areas apart from RAM. The amount of RAM on this phone concerns me as it is less than the G1.

are you crazy? lol the ONLY things the galaxy beats the hero in is its skinnier the flash and the AMOLED screen the hero has a teflon coating a anti finger print screen 3.2 inch screen aswell as the 5.0 megapixel cam the galaxy has it has sense UI and flash 10 its almost as skinny as the galaxy and so yeah sorry to tell you but the hero crushes the galaxy along with pretty much every other phone out there

AMOLED is wayy betetr than a screen that just takes a second to get fingerprints off.

i7500(aka the galaxy) also has a flash for camera which the Hero doesn't. It also comes in black!

Problem is, the Hero is still using the same processor as the G1 and the Magic and doesn't have the processing power to handle Flash 10 or Sense UI without performance issues.

I'd rather have the normal Android UI on devices like these. The next generation of processors (Snapdragon & Tegra) should have more than enough power to make things like Sense UI more feasible.

Wow they say it's thinner than the HTC Magic and the over-rated iPhone 3GS.......... but does anyone know if it will have YouTube video and Picasa pictures uploading capabilities like the Magic will? If so I think it will be the Samsung i7500 for me.... even if I do have to wait until December to get it.

HTC Magic is much more stunning on ID compared to i7500. However, 3.5mm jack is what I need. i7500 is cool. But after seeing the launch of HTC Hero, I will definitely choose HTC Hero. I NEED BOTH 3.5MM JACK AND FLASH AVAILABILITY MEANWHILE!!

I just discovered this phone today and now I am torn between getting this one or getting the Magic. I love the looks of the i7500 when it was compared to the iphone and I love that it has a 3.5mm jack for headphones... which is something that the Magic doesn't have....... There are too many cool new phones coming out this year...... I don't know what to do lol.

Definitely get this over the magic. This phone has a better camera, OLED screen, and Samsung's audio quality for music is almost always amazing. Plus this phone is supposed to come with 8 gigs of internal memory with an option to expand. Do yourself a favor and get this over the magic

I think you should get the Samsung i7500 with Android, instead of the Magic, because they have the same Android OS, but the Samsung is more physically attractive, and the magic doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Yes the AMOLED screen looks nice.....but the rest of it looks like a 3 year old throw back.

Samsung, do yourselves and us a favour and copy the looks of the N97 or the HTC touch pro 2, givf big full face screen and slide out keyboard along with Android and all our base belong to you.

The Google G1 (I have that phone) has a very responsive touch screen, just as good as the iPhone. I'm sure this phone will have a touch screen just like the G1, if not better. (Hopefully it will have multi-touch.)

Yes, this phone is great for viewing outside. The screen is designed to be easier to see in sunlight, and the colors are much more vivid.

man the samsung kicks the htc ass, as far as screen on the pictures comparison. the samsung is much brighter, clearer, cleaner than the htc. wow. the difference is obvious.
