Ok so Ian Gillian and Roger Glover are turning 65 this year, Steve Morse is 55, Ian Paice and Don Airey are turning 62. Who says they are THAT OLD? Age is just a number. And besides, people are still buying tickets to their shows, that's why they carry on. Also, the original fans of Deep Purple are bringing their children and even grandchildred to the shows and it's a great family bonding. They may not be those bad mofos back in the day but now they serve a higher purpose, helping bond families!

Steve Morse might not fit everyone's musical expectations regarding Deep Purple, but two things are certain: 1. he's a fucking great guitar player, easily on par with Blackmore and even some of the fusion-players, and 2. he's such a nice guy, and has revitalized Deep Purple - when did u last see the group members smile at each other while Blackmore was in the group?

anyway, in the end it's just a question of personal taste.
