perfect interpretation of an amazing Andrew Lloyd Weber play into metal. Iced Earth fucking pwns and Matt Barlow is the perfect voice to play these "monsters"
@burning255 You have some problems there. EU with their banksters are trying to use you. Fight! There are people that support you. Best regards from Poland. Fuck ACTA !!
I've been hooked on Iced Earth since Stormrider. They're putting out great metal with Ripper but Mathew was and always will be...at least for me...the TRUE VOICE of Iced Earth. Saw them live in Vegas, Rippers first tour...Missed Mathew by one album! However, I'm a metal rhythm guitarist and the chance to see John Schafer live was nothing short of EPIC. I'm also hoping for another Demons & Wizards album. Does anyone out there know if there's another offering in the works?
@OnWingsofMetalMadnes I honestly can't find it anymore, so you'd have to search for it yourself here on youtube somewhere, but in a recent interview Hansi Kürsch (singer of Blind Guardian) said that after theyr upcomming orchestral project, they'll focus more on the band's next album, and after that, there's a chance that we'll hear something new from the D&W project. We might get a new album within the next couple of years.
@citizen773 Yeah, I saw them on their last greatest hits tour and they didn't play anything from Horror Show. I was really hoping for Burnt Offerings and Phantom Opera, but oh well. :/
I think everyone should STFU about every form of music not Iced Earth on this video.. and if you're going to throw around insults on each others intelligence, maybe you should make sure you spell things right, at least make it legible. HAIL ICED EARTH!!!!! :D
@reafras You liked the Crucible of Man? I mean it wasn't bad, but I don't think it really compares to any of the older albums. My favorite is actually Iced Earth (would have been Stormrider if it had Gene or Matt on vocals).
This song is far from being rap, people saying that it is, doenst know what they talk about, thats fact! One of the best songs from Iced Earth, love it!
Listen dude,in case you dont know rap isnt lil way or 50 cent or any other millionaire nigga.I hate it when people who have no idea keep talking bullshit. The true rap is a genre not referring to drugs or bitches but to stories of the street,of life and stuff like that.A true rap song(fuck usa artists) should deserve your respect as well.
@nikolaras93 I heartily agree. People waste too much time labeling shit. I started out as a metalhead, labeling stuff as far as my elevenyear-old brains could process the world around me, "I love metal, fuck rap" and other dumbfounded remarks not too seldomly expressed. Honestly, good music is good music, and if a talented, gifted, or just "pretty good" but aspiring artist puts his or her heart and soul in a piece of music, it is always something to cherish. Long live diversity.
First, I don't get why rap is even being discussed here. Second, I am a lover of rap and metal. It's possible. Third, most of the generalizations made against rap are stupid and uninformed and based mostly on what's popular today. How about go listen to some oldschool rap, or underground rap.
Listening to this justifies why rap is a waste of time and any rap lover on here can get the fuck out of here with their comments against metal and it's fans.
4:33 isn't just silence, it's a carefully timed and executed demonstration of the "noises" that occur during "silence." The murmur of the audience, the thrum of the ventilation system. It's about looking into not only yourself, but into those around you, and perhaps experiencing the things that go on underneath the smash and crash of daily living. John Cage is one of the foremost leaders in experimental music today. Is his stuff great/ or even music?. That's up to the individual to decide.
@thineeyesbleed69 because people are stupid and have to bring up things that are totally irrelevant to the videos they are watching. like all those stupid justin bieber jokes and references you see all over youtube.
Amazing melodies a lot like "In Flames" which is awsome and to rap issue... rap nowdays sucks santa's big fat chode original rap was witty and funny and reserved for something known as a "rap battle" where you have fun and laugh at the different kinds of insults they come up with to ryme with what the other person just said. @concretegangsta Exactly my point! The rap "artists" out there in the mainstream are simply chumps catering to the lowest common deniminator. As Sirgnomesailor said, I remember what he's talking about how rap used to be witty and fun to listen to, then it became a really serious proposition, the "Black Person's CNN" as they said back in the day. Then it went the route of R&B and became party music with garbage lyrics. Lil' Wayne and the like are mindless thugs that disgrace rap's legacy.
Some rap shits all over a lot of metal. Don't get me wrong, I hate a lot of rap and what it stands for, but metal has a large amount of suck too. Iced Earth is good though.
-Take 3 random guys in a street, ask them to do a rap "song", lock them one hour in a room, come back : TADAAAAAAAAAAA, Usher's new album.

Some people like chocolate, some people like vanilla, some people like strawberry. Does other people's enjoyment of rap hurt your enjoyment of metal? No? THEN WHO GIVES A SHIT!? Just sit back and enjoy one of the most badass metal songs ever, no need to get into a pissing contest.
Rap is not music. Music is instruments and melody and harmony, and SINGING. Rap is just spewing profanity, ghetto slang, and easy nursery school rhymes over simple mechanized beats and SAMPLES of other people's music. That is not music, it is theft. At its best (a rare thing these days), rap is indeed poetry with substance; more often than not it is mindless party crap. THIS is music, with melody, dynamics, harmony, and actual singing. THIS gets and deserves my respect. That is all.
@KamenRiderNecro well if you must know, rap started off with live bands as it originated in the era of funk and disco. However even though I love iced earth I still have an appreciation for conscious hip hop music. Rap is a joke, but hip hop is not. BIG difference between the two...unfortunately people think they are interchangeable terms although they arent.
@KamenRiderNecro im a rap fan for a long time im not agreed with you or the 25 ppl that like this comment rap music is great and i like it i feel good when i listen to it ... when i hear this shit at 1: 00 i feel sick it's the most disgusting thing i've ever heard but thats my taste whats yours ? - actually i don't care because evry selfrespecting person has his own opinion and vison about things so don't attack rap music retarded filthy metal kid
@thineeyesbleed69 a metal fan sent me the link to this song because of the top rate comment i can't stand retarded unwashed metal fans that don't change their pants and masturbate and i don't care about thumbs down i don't like when stupid haters talk trash
@KamenRiderNecro Before music theory was invented, people created music the way they wanted to do it, which did not include harmony and only simple instruments. The rap you know is probably the ones on the radio. There are so many underrated rap artists out there who don't just rap about party. This type of rap is overshadowed by overhyped ones like Lil Wayne, etc. This coming out from a metal head.
@KamenRiderNecro The rap you're talking about does exist, but it is by no means indicative of hiphop as a whole. There's shitty profane metal just as there is shitty profane hiphop. But Hiphop also exists as an extremely expressive and often artistic medium. Just because you've never heard it doesn't mean it doesn't exist and you can't bash another form of art without listening to the good and the bad.
@KamenRiderNecro That's just the western music version of music. Anything that has a beat to it can be music...or lack there of even. Think of John Cage's 4:33 seconds...That's just silence for 4 minutes and 33 seconds, and that's considered music. Much of what music was when it was conceived was something do dance to, and you sure as hell can dance to rap. I don't like rap very much myself, but it is music whether you like it or not.
@Drakith20 What, for having taste in music that is higher than listening to mindless rhymes peppered with liberal amounts of ghetto slang and profanity? If that's the case, then DAMN RIGHT, I'm an elitist. Get over it. :) (Keeping in mind what others here have said about rap in its defense, I understand just what you guys mean and this is directed at Drakith20, not y'all--there have been some very intelligent replies, and thanks for those, all!)
@KamenRiderNecro Εven though rap is not my style, I must say you are a bit wrong. Yes indeed most of it is party crap, but i know many rap artists who are quite obscure and they do amazing lyrical work and have nice catchy beat, and pass messages through their lyrics. They are quite many of them, just not well known, cuz that kind apparently doesn't sell.
@RocknRollman1995 Indeed. Judging the whole rap (or rather, hip hop) genre based on the trendy, popular crap that infects the radio is like judging all metal based on Limp Bizkit.
Rap is indeed music, for it is organized sound. Also, rap these days is pathetically inferior to the old school days. Back then, hip hop was considered an art. These days, all you get is shit shit shit.
@KamenRiderNecro and who said that Rap isn't instrumental? Did You ever listen to band such as Beastie Boys, Run DMC or The Roots? I am metalhead too, but I don't agree with You, because You don't even know, what You're saying.
totally agree with you mate, but there are various kinds of rap,you are obviously refering to the pop rap which is all about fucking cars and stuff like that, but there are also artists which produce really nice rap songs with meaningful lyrics
You know that you sound like those people who didn't understand Jazz back in the old days? Nowadays you'll find nobody who doesn't believe Jazz is not a great art form - just like rap will be in like 50 years..
But you're right, there's a lot of bad rap, but that's not because the art form itself doesn't have great potential, it's because our society is a lot more capitalized than it was, so many things get raped by the pop industry anyway..
@KamenRiderNecro stfu you fking rap-hater , listen to your music and shut up about other music. i hear metal and rap, and to compere, you said " Rap is no music, cause in music must be singing and melody" o.O wtf dude, screaming or growling is no singing too q.q and in 95% of all rap songs in a melody of instruments in the background. you have no plan of music .
@KamenRiderNecro You're an idiot who doesn't understand music it seems. I could actually define music but it would be wasted on your silly little mind.
@GreatWarlordAugustus i hope rap will return to the styl it has in early 90's when 2pac was alive and rap and hip-hop had a great meaning.anyway metal for life motherfuckers!!!!
@GreatWarlordAugustus Agreed, but I do think that rappers with absolutely no skill are flooding and raping the scene, the hiphop scene is getting more retarded by the minute
all hip hop and rap its stupid musik all is the same and the same and the same and agian the same no chance to the songs crap shiets music hip hop and rap both metall is all new chance music and words with point fuck hip hop and rap and techno and all this shiet
why doesn' rap have instruments? Every form of music has instruments. perhaps its not music. And spare me the " its the streets" bullshit. Loretta Lynn grew up dirt shit poor, saw many men die in the mines, corporate indifference and Damn she played guitar. I am of course Metal through and through. But, I do respect true artists, and vulgar forms of Dr. Seus is not music. Its,well, poor, vulgar imitations of Seus, and encouragement for violence, ie. "This is one faggot that I had to hurt" Art?
xaxaxa stop arguing music and especialy rock and metal are to conect all people against the bad things in our days ! However the things i like you like or anybody else is personal thing! However Vocals like Nightwish (with the old singer) nobody can say she does not have voice or maybe will tell something like this a retarded F-RAPER RETARDEDMAN ! guys the fake music of PC is nothing but SOUND POLUTION! and although the most beats they use have been from Rock songs! ;) so no worries relax!
metal is dead? PAH! Metal and rock are the only genres thats been insanely popular since its very beginning and its origins of music, i.e blues. all new pop, rap and the so called "R n B" will die out waaay before Metal
@MrTJOfficial Don't get me wrong here, I hate rap and hip-hop but to say they have no talent would be a lie, rapping definitely isn't easy and neither is creating the music for the background and some of those guys can sing. To say they have no talent is ignorant. They wouldn't be where they were if they had no talent ;).
@Sythaz One persons definition of having talent differs from the others. I personally don't think that too many rappers/hip-hoppers have any real talent as 90% of the time they just rip off someone elses music and put their own ebonically enhanced lyrics to them that hardly anyone can understand but them or people who listen to their music. There are a select few out there with a talent for music, but not nearly as many as those who play rock/metal type of music.
@Sythaz i disagree, they're only where they are because it happens to be popular andm oney can be made from that genre at this moment in time. and the backing tracks are things that anyone with a tiny iota of computer knowledge can create. i can talk pretty fast. am i a rapper?
@MrTJOfficial Some rap artists do have talent. It takes talent to write clever rhymes like a lot of them do, and it also takes talent to be able to recite it all to a beat.
I'm not a fan of rap, but I respect some rappers that rap about things other than sex, money, drugs etc.
This song is fuckin' epic! *_*

Get over it. :) (Keeping in mind what others here have said about rap in its defense, I understand just what you guys mean and this is directed at Drakith20, not y'all--there have been some very intelligent replies, and thanks for those, all!)

@KamenRiderNecro
Do you realize how uninformed you sound? Do you really think that all rap is Soulja Boy and 50Cent?
Drakith20 8 months ago 4
@Drakith20 i fully second that. i don't listen to rap and hiphop at all, but what the necro said is just not true at all
hjoermungand 8 months ago
@KamenRiderNecro Εven though rap is not my style, I must say you are a bit wrong. Yes indeed most of it is party crap, but i know many rap artists who are quite obscure and they do amazing lyrical work and have nice catchy beat, and pass messages through their lyrics. They are quite many of them, just not well known, cuz that kind apparently doesn't sell.

@RocknRollman1995 Really? I think his comment is written well enough. He at least used punctuation.
Fishercardinal 7 months ago
@Fishercardinal the way he judges rap as a whole is ignorant
RocknRollman1995 7 months ago
@RocknRollman1995 Indeed. Judging the whole rap (or rather, hip hop) genre based on the trendy, popular crap that infects the radio is like judging all metal based on Limp Bizkit.

Rap is indeed music, for it is organized sound. Also, rap these days is pathetically inferior to the old school days. Back then, hip hop was considered an art. These days, all you get is shit shit shit.

@KamenRiderNecro and who said that Rap isn't instrumental? Did You ever listen to band such as Beastie Boys, Run DMC or The Roots? I am metalhead too, but I don't agree with You, because You don't even know, what You're saying.
addmetallicatoyourit 6 months ago
@KamenRiderNecro
totally agree with you mate, but there are various kinds of rap,you are obviously refering to the pop rap which is all about fucking cars and stuff like that, but there are also artists which produce really nice rap songs with meaningful lyrics

@KamenRiderNecro
You know that you sound like those people who didn't understand Jazz back in the old days? Nowadays you'll find nobody who doesn't believe Jazz is not a great art form - just like rap will be in like 50 years..
But you're right, there's a lot of bad rap, but that's not because the art form itself doesn't have great potential, it's because our society is a lot more capitalized than it was, so many things get raped by the pop industry anyway..
blackmarvin 5 months ago
@blackmarvin They won't consider the modern rap a great art form because it blows chunks of arse. However, the 90's will go down as being great.

Its official, Iced Earth is now the only metal band in a new metal genre.
The new genre is called "Epic Metal".

why doesn' rap have instruments? Every form of music has instruments. perhaps its not music. And spare me the " its the streets" bullshit. Loretta Lynn grew up dirt shit poor, saw many men die in the mines, corporate indifference and Damn she played guitar. I am of course Metal through and through. But, I do respect true artists, and vulgar forms of Dr. Seus is not music. Its,well, poor, vulgar imitations of Seus, and encouragement for violence, ie. "This is one faggot that I had to hurt" Art?

I wanna see any Rap, Hip-Hop, or Pop artist play the instruments like this.... I wanna see them sing like this!!! THEY HAVE NO TALENT!!!!!!!!!!!!
MrTJOfficial 1 year ago 95
@MrTJOfficial Don't get me wrong here, I hate rap and hip-hop but to say they have no talent would be a lie, rapping definitely isn't easy and neither is creating the music for the background and some of those guys can sing. To say they have no talent is ignorant. They wouldn't be where they were if they had no talent ;).
Sythaz 1 year ago 2
@Sythaz One persons definition of having talent differs from the others. I personally don't think that too many rappers/hip-hoppers have any real talent as 90% of the time they just rip off someone elses music and put their own ebonically enhanced lyrics to them that hardly anyone can understand but them or people who listen to their music. There are a select few out there with a talent for music, but not nearly as many as those who play rock/metal type of music.
brutalshot5641 1 year ago
@Sythaz i disagree, they're only where they are because it happens to be popular andm oney can be made from that genre at this moment in time. and the backing tracks are things that anyone with a tiny iota of computer knowledge can create. i can talk pretty fast. am i a rapper?
12345smith67890 1 year ago
@MrTJOfficial They can't play instruments it's in the definition of there genre lol.

@MrTJOfficial rap hasn´t instruments to play, please get informations before you write on youtube ;)
Kristallscherbe 1 year ago
@MrTJOfficial Some rap artists do have talent. It takes talent to write clever rhymes like a lot of them do, and it also takes talent to be able to recite it all to a beat.
I'm not a fan of rap, but I respect some rappers that rap about things other than sex, money, drugs etc.
