  • Googled it, 1100ci 18 liters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • there is Small block, Big block, and then you get this,... fuckin great humungus block!

  • video uploaded 2007...is the car done? must be pretty crazy

  • Where does the airconditioning go? haha...Cant wait to see the final product, keep up the good work!

  • It looks like an oversized Modular Motor. I bet Ford could have used this, and what they learned from it, to build a sucessor to the Flathead (assuming they could get it small enough).

  • That was only a V-8??? Thought it would have been AT LEAST a V-12!!!

  • im bumming out man.....i wanted to see your evil tank engined mustang driving.

did you ever finish it or was it too expensive to finish?

  • @bikr1975 Not finished yet, but I am still working on it. Stage 1 was get the engine running, Stage 2 is finishing the car around it.

  • @LocomotiveBreth You should post a new vid. Who cares if it's incomplete. Folks just want to see that this awesome dream didn't die.

  • @LocomotiveBreth Where did you get a tranny that would accommodate that amount of power, and what type is it? And what other modifications did you have to do to get that massive amount of motor into the engine bay of the Mustang? You definitely got my attention and my curiosity up!

  • @bikr1975 check out charlie broomfield's meteor engined rover sd1. 27 litres of engine!!! and it runs

  • I am ready and waiting to see this thing kill some road :)

  • I think ONE of those plug wires could run my 5.0........what mm sizing are those?

  • @KingOfTheClutch They are Taylor 10.4MM wires.

  • @LocomotiveBreth thats crazy........pretty penny for those I imagine.

I can also see you like Jethro Tull lol

  • @LocomotiveBreth can i ask why didnt you go with the double rail chassis? to hold such a big motor

  • thats more stupid than the original lol a car that doesn't now what traction or handling is with a huge engine now it got a huge ass engine and yes iven if you got a bigger engine my honda will woop your ass coz i am lighter and i can handle i have technology dumb big engines . but it sound cool tho

  • @antreasantreoy Wow I bet your Honda is really cool. It probably has a big plastic wing, a tailpipe larger than the cylinder diameter, and maybe even, dare I say, NOZ. But seriously, maybe you should use some of that technology you mentioned for Spell Check.

  • @LocomotiveBreth Haters

  • @LocomotiveBreth lmao ok it might not have traction but at the rate those tires would be spinning the velocity of the car would be faster then that shit brick of a beener car dude has .... props to you breth i would love to see this thing go down the strip or street for that matter

  • @antreasantreoy get a life.

  • @antreasantreoy You can't brag about a Honda, fuckin' ricer. You may be able to beat a few stock v8's but race a mildly built v8 and you can watch those tail lights fade in the distance. Only a 16 year old kid would think his Honda is cool when all Hondas, except for the NSX, are ricing pieces of shit. I do admit there are a select FEW out there that aren't riced and they are cheap, reliable cars but don't come bragging about your Honda on a video where there's a tank engine in a mustang. Haha.

  • @EternalMegadeth Haters o and ricers are the stupid americans that made hondas look like shit changine the looks coz the dont have jdm

  • @antreasantreoy you have technology big dumb engines? handling is with a huge engine now it got a huge ass engine and yes iven?

  • @antreasantreoy Okay so let me get this straight, you arent american are you? A car isnt all about traction or speed or even how it looks. A car is an extension of yourself. Its the history and the long hours put into it, Its about the character of it. Sure a lot of horsepower and torque are great to have, or being good on gas and lightweight is a good idea, but it doesnt make the car. You are supposed to treat the car with respect, you want it cheap, itll drive cheap, but this car has heart.

  • @Theyallcallmechico respect there you say it all right and i am sorry i didn't express any respect on the engineering aspects of this swap

  • @Theyallcallmechico Well said. I put my heart and soul into a 96 vw jetta. Engine swap from an audi, pulled and widened fenders, smoothed bumpers door handles and emblems, interior from a new jetta. I wanted a car that was highly modified yet simple and clean. It wasn't the fastest or the best handling but it was definitley an extension of my self and I treated it with respect. BUT some jackass hit me head on and now it's totalled rotting away in a junkyad somewhere. 5 year build and it's gone

  • is that a V12!!!

  • DAMN; Thats a big ass engine !!!! :D

  • I want the sound of this engine for my ringtone. Aw yeah.

  • hp?:D

  • id like to see a set of headers for it....

  • neck snapping torque !

  • There hasn't been an update on this in 4 years. Did you give up on it?

  • @KenMacMillan No, I've just been working on other stuff. I'll get around to finishing it one of these days.

  • @LocomotiveBreth

Is this is the 1100 Cu in. all aluminum Ford 4 cam, 32 valve v-8 that was used in a WWII Sherman Tank?

  • @bgerlt Yes

  • @LocomotiveBreth

Ok Thanks. I'll be looking forward to any progress you are able to make on this project.

    Best of luck to you.

  • you should get some more car for that engine

  • HP ?

  • saves la potencia de esa maquina

  • Be careful tailgating Hadji, he might shit his pants.

  • A friend worked with his boss putting a 350 in an MG. I think it only had 4" wide tires. My buddy was the first one to drive it, He went in over the weekend with some friends when the boss wasn't there, he tried to show off and totaled it, and hit a few other cars in the parking lot.

That was the end of that.

  • @bigredc222 R.I.P i belive his boss "totaled" your friend's ass

  • Where's the finished car.

I bet it's a little scary to drive , but I'd love to give it a try.

  • can anyone say 1/2 mpg...im not kidding thats what it gets

  • @CrazyForCooCooPuffs Well, it is 1100 cubic inches. Thats 18 liters.

  • @madtownmadman this is as impractical as it gets lol

  • @CrazyForCooCooPuffs you read it wrong lol its gallons per mile haha

  • you should put the engine in the back of the car. to give your self more traction where you need it. that motor is way to big to be in front. not gonna be able to control that thing under throttlel good luck. gonna be a scary ride. lmfao

  • JESUS CHRIST!

  • will it blend?

  • i have seen alot. not that. wel. except now i did.

  • When Chuck Norris needs to get somewhere fast.

  • @eljan81 Chuck Norris doesn't need to go anywhere, somewhere comes to him!

  • fucking amazing man

  • I wish I could be half as amazing you are.

You are an inspiration to all.

  • Reminds me of an Allison V12-powered Cadillac I read about in Mechanics Illustrated back in the '50s.

    Awesome sound, by the way.

  • hij rij niet alleen maar starten amina koyim

  • "MUSTANK"

  • I like the part where it went WRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH

  • this video made my dick get smaller. Holy flying monkey *#&%.

  • 2x dual over head cams with x2 distributors wtf thats insane that thing produces more torque at idle than most cars revved to the moon at the track lol can u say wheelie monster

  • Wow, very cool. I used to build model cars as a kid and drop a 1/25 scale engine into a 1/43 car, looks the same as they did. LOL. Lots of fun!

  • its a 1100 ci ford out of a sherman tank. i saw this car in a magazine a while back

  • @chevypipes2012 Holy shit

  • first of all, what the heck you doin with a tank engine, from did you get it and this is wicked awesome.

  • MOTHER OF GOD!!! I want that in my truck!

  • i dont think it fits

  • What an engine!!!... Did I just read all aluminum somewhere?!!! I would like to drop it into an 18-wheeler and see how it runs. Same torque probably...

  • hey psygn0sis your funny but your right

  • so let me get this straight. 18 liter correct? if so thats roughly 1100 cubic inches. thats retarded lol. wish i had one

  • That car is gonna twist like a pretzel when you hit the gas!

  • @psygn0sis I hope so

  • @LocomotiveBreth DOHC ???? hell - bit of a suprise - its grand mate - have fun...

  • @psygn0sis haha hes right, hope you guys are putting in an extremely good crank

  • ..I love that it is just for fun..how is the project progressing?

  • An 18 liter engine. Wow! Something like 0,21-0,5 km/liter? Probably better than that given that it has wheels unlike a Sherman.

But who cares, that is awesome!

  • Did it have an SAE bell housing originally?

  • @deltaforcebarrett No, it does not. It would have been much easier to make the adapter if it did though.

  • i would too see somebody put a dodge viper engine in a old 1970 dodge charger

  • @joe35664thats so common man visit ur local drag strips

  • An all-aluminum DOHC V8 from 1940. Well ahead of its time in terms of American engine technology. It is 1100ci and produces 525 horsepower @2800rpm.

  • @douro20

Don't forget, 1000 foot pounds of torque. At idle. I donno about you but I'd love to pull down a house right off of idle

  • sweat

  • ......okay, I'm intrigued here, what use are you going to give to that engine? Is it for drag racing? Don't know anything about tank engines, so....was this just for fun, or was it actually intended for a specific use?

  • @95stangdude Its just for fun.

  • @95stangdude its gonna be a daily driver...

  • @monstermiataman .....if I bothered to ask was because I don't know anything about tank engines, you probably know everything about them, considering your sarcasm. When I think of a tank, I think -heavy-, so by my logic, an engine fit for a tank has to be strong to pull weight, not to develop high speeds. I know the tranny has a lot to do with this, but there's engines that can pull more and revv less, and viceversa. So I was wondering, and genuinely asked what was gonna be it's use, smartass.

  • @95stangdude what cant take a joke or what you asked he responded i saw it so i made a joke now cry me a river

  • @monstermiataman okay, you win....

  • @95stangdude sweet

  • I would love to see an update. That thing purrs like a god.

  • weight? looks like a heavy bitch

  • @onlypresto 960lbs.

  • @LocomotiveBreth geeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz man, almost a whole nother car

  • @onlypresto Its not much heavier than a blown iron Ford 460 or 426 Hemi. Not many V8's have more cubic inches than weight in pounds.

  • @LocomotiveBreth yea i know, but still

  • @onlypresto And it's 1100 cubic inches. It's an all-aluminum DOHC V8, one of the first engines of its kind to be made in the United States. It was originally designed to be an aircraft engine, but instead it was used in the Sherman tank. It was probably one of the most reliable components in the whole thing.

  • Redline?

  • @meronmotors 5200 max with stock rods

  • Comment removed

  • I thought tank engines were diesels or gas turbines.

  • @InfiniteMushroom WW2 western tanks were petrol, and some beautiful engines were created, all alloy, DOHC, bloody expensive.

  • i think i just spoofed in my pants

  • yeah man really cool, i put a tank engine in my lawn mower, cut my fucking house down. Neighbours started complaining about the noise so i mowed them right up. Went to work on it the other day traffic was no problem. Next thing I’m gono do is stick a jet engine in my strimmer, can trim hedges and fly to work with that bad boy.

  • @fredyfister You are the man, when I grow up I want to be just like you.

  • the front to rear weight ratio must be rediculous

  • Where is Tank Engine Mustang IV?

  • @saxyweed That is a good question...

  • how does someone acquire one of these?

  • Love that you kept the engine a Ford!

  • thats probably what? 10feet to the gallon?

  • Is that a Ford Mustank

  • that is the coolest fucking thing i have ever seen kudos man holy shit!

  • Well, loco........his name IS "drifter". One of those new-school know-nothing-about- anything "tuner" types. They only care about wearing their pants down past their asses and their hats sideways. Can't expect someone like that to have any idea, whatsoever, about a real muscle car and what it's designed to do. Keep up the good work. That thing looks scary.

  • The last thing you want in a light body is Torque

  • what kinda tranny you runnin ?

  • @Conway11906 the kind with a penis?

  • Impressive looking! Where does engine make peak power? Presumably for drag racing? I always thought an engine like this would have low down power, would that still be ok for drag racing applications? Assuming thats what it is used for,

Looks amazing and sounds even better, welll done,

  • this is were our well loved COBRA DOHC an SOHC 4.6 motors came frame, just think they had that tech back then, and didnt re-use it till 1996. I love DOHC V-MOTORS!

  • what happens when you stop.

  • whats the stroke on that thing cc's?

  • .

Such a beautiful sound, I got an ear-gasm....

    .

  • The sound of this thing alone is enough to invoke fear and nightmares into ricers all around.

  • I grew up on a farm in Texas. One of our neighbors (a mile away) ran a GAA on natural gas for his irrigation well. The exhaust was pointed right at our house (a mile away).....

At night, I would drift off as the rumbling drone lulled me to sleep......

Sometimes that engine would quit running in the middle of the night and that would wake me up.

  • is this real life???

  • that wouldmake a sweet steer car with that engine sticking out the top of the hood lol at those skate board wheels nex tto that thing

  • ain't no jap parts in this shit!

  • Imagine your the enemy and hearing that coming towards you in a tank, i'd piss myself.

  • girlfriend walks in and sees her bf jerkin it to this video*

  • What engine is this and what tank is it out of? Thanks

  • @tommy35ss Ford GAA from WWII Sherman Tank

  • @LocomotiveBreth the chassis can hold that tank engine? wow!

  • @tommy35ss It's around 1,100cubic inch >:)

  • Daammmn!!! The king of all muscle car right there mAn

  • anyone who dislikes this is not a man, this is awsome!

  • wonder how it's cornering at high speeds...

  • @TransAmDrifter I could care less about cornering at high speed, it wasn't built for that.

  • @TransAmDrifter It doesnt, like most american cars

  • @Bamtheman0123 thank gosh some of them do like corners :)

  • @TransAmDrifter What a dumbass comment.

  • @italia10588 Yours...

  • wheres the cannon?

  • optional howitzer and 80 mm turret..haha ...cool machine...

  • a good old twin cam v8... nice project. Is it on an E type chassis or something?

  • beautiful sound thats better than listining to the birds and havin a cup of coffiey

  • beautiful sound

  • You guys blow that enigne up, and you've destroyed a piece of history

  • Give us another vid of it's performance please! please! please!

  • now build a tank

  • what tranny can take that amount of torque?

  • I wanna see this thing drive and whatnot, not just run!

  • that is a V ?

  • This was 2007, when do we get to see this beast on the road?

  • you've built a car around the engine. nice!!!

  • @Chevdriver Isn't that the way you are suppose to do it?

  • @LocomotiveBreth sir, you put a whole new meaning to it is what i think the other guy meant...

  • i seen the sherman tank vid 1st an thought putting that in a car would be insane and then i find this !

    impressive :D

  • @jnewbon00 Me too! I had the same thoughts.

  • does it have the same exhaust manifold bolt patterns as any other ford engine

  • @bowtie4ever96 It has two 1.90 exhaust valves per cylinder and the port measures 4.25 W x 1.50 tall. Looks very similar to an Allison V12 exhaust flange.

  • can you say overkill?

  • it allmost loks like a Boss 429 Engine...

  • @ThePanzerWarMachine

yep, but this engine is over 1,000CI and was put in the M-4 Sherman and M-26 Pershing tank it created 500hp then, i could only Emmaline the horsepower it would create now with modern Technology and proper tuning!

  • @angryace13

Cool, Mind asking what engine you started with? was it the most comon Ford GVA-V8 Engine, or a Chrysler Multibank or something else? 7 Factories made the M4 Sherman Tank, 6 in the U.S, and Even one in Canada!

  • @ThePanzerWarMachine

the Ford Engine was very common, but they also used Radial aircraft engines as well, but it was easier to use the Ford GAA or GVA V8, beacuse most companies that produced aircraft engines, where focusing on producing engines for aircraft, according to Wiki the engine placed in the concept M-4 Sherman was a Radial aircraft engine.

i don't know if the M-26 Pershing had anything ells but the Ford GVA V-8, not many Pershings where built so im sure most or all had the GVA V8

  • @angryace13

The M4 Sherman had like 9 engine's available for it, most of them were based on Model Variations.

for instance, the M4a1 had a Radial engine wich has the best tank engine sound prior to 1975!

the M4a2 and A3 were mostly powerd with the Ford engine. Some Shermans were even powerd with an Diels Engine. ( M4A4, M4a5 Versions.)

  • @ThePanzerWarMachine

now that i did not know, it had lots of engines for it then, all i know of is 3 or 4, i know the first was powered buy the 400 or so horsepower Radial engine, and later variants where powered buy the GVA V8 but i had no idea they had so many! guess you learn something every day. anyhow, with as much power as this engine creates, i bet it flies, especially the TORQUE!!

  • @ThePanzerWarMachine

i also think... that it was easier to use the Ford GVA V-8 beacuse ford was already producing alot of engines for Armor and Ground based vehicles, Along with willies they also produced a In line 4 Engine that went into the Willies jeep, which was very common engine for the willies, Ford did take a crack at aircraft engines, in fact thats how the GVA V8 came to be, it was similar to a Aircraft V-12 except basically with 4 cylinders chopped off.

  • overkill, some times it is nessicary

  • torquey

  • The sound of this engine gives me an ear-gasim! :-P

  • americans sticking with what they know best, the v8

  • 20 people dont like this video??WTF? Not enough gardening tips or what?? Great car and unreal power plant.

  • So when do we get to see it go down the road?

  • this was nearly 4 years ago, lets see it run!

  • Krass? Bernie?

  • I wanna see it all done and driven...quarter mile etc...just awesome!

  • I've never seen distrubitors mounted on the front side of the heads before. Talk about making a OHC engine more simple.
