So basically when the bell is hovering, before it turns and go down again I need to punch up and place my arm under it. That makes total sense. I can't wait to practice this. *rubs his bruises*
As the aim of the video is to show how to avoid pain than the correct form should be demonstrated.
If you look at some of the WKC vids u will see that the handle position is different. In the video you are locking out too far in front. Your arm should be further back for a full snatch position (or like Catherine Imes from the AKC calls it Lock out) and the kb sitting at 45 degree angle across your palm not having your hand clenching the handle. Speak with Andrew Durniat Im sure he can help
I see what you are saying about the range of motion. Good point. I was paying more attention on emphasizing the portion of the movement that causes the forearm pain and less about the full ROM of the arm.
I've never used the 45-degree handle angle. I think my grip on this particular kettlebell feels better than the other way. Not that it is impossible to do. It just simply doesn't feel good on my hand and wrist with this particular kettlebell.
Good video. I did my first kettlebell workout this morning, and I was having trouble with the clean and the snatch for that very reason- the kettlebell smashing into my wrist. Thanks Jedd.
You guys need to work with the American Kettlebell Club guys, cause you technique is pretty bad; you've got the strenght but is not about that, is it?
@korefitnessACT While my form is not perfect, I don't profess it to be either. My only interest with posting this video is to help people avoid pain of bad technique with the snatch.
If you think there is something I need to work on with my form, I'd appreciate any feedback you can give me.
No more pain, thanks for sharing.

It's also hard to keep good form when you're handling heavy weight.

@Gripmaster3000 True it is fairly heavy. I enjoy working with heavy bells.
