  • Great video! Jason

  • check out some of my pipes

  • i want one of these pipes so bad

  • what are they doing at 7:30? Is it the material hardened? Just wondering if I the pipe will be as easy to slice up as in the beginning of the video...

  • @hagglefaen I have a meerschaum pipe. They are coloring the pipes. Notice that half the rack has colored ones and half not. It just depends on your preference. Yes meerschaum is very delicate. Its still hard its a mineral, just if you were to slice it like in this video you could do it with ease but probably he has a sharp blade..but i wouldnt try it on my meerschaum pipe!

  • Meerschaum is the most brittle material to make a pipe out of

  • @miketallica665 Which allows for the best artful creation.

  • a lot of material is lost

  • wonderful, great art

  • It looks like cheese when he cuts it haha.

  • Can someone please explain to me what meershaum is? It looks like some waxy mineral...

  • @combatcommand

Wikipedia has a great description of it

  • Thanks for uploading that! I actually dont have or use pipes, but I have other collectable items made of meerschaum and it is very interesting to see it being worked! It's a lot softer than I imagined. I thought it was much like hard chalk.

But I've heard there's 2 kinds of meerschaum, one that is soft and not as good quality, doesn't respond well if it's exposed to water and is softer, and another meerschaum thats used for pipes which is better meerschaum. Mine's only for joy of collecting.

  • @BestaTonlistin there are many different levels of quality in meerschaum. The consistency is based on how much water is absorbed into the meerschaum.

  • @TeamshakeNbake doesnt it not matter in the end because they heat it to take out some of the moisture

  • @SlashSbin no I was answering 2 questions I made note that they use wet meerschaum to carve and two, the material and there are different quality of meerschaum block. It is hard to follow if you didn't read what I was responding too.

  • that looks a lot like soap how easily he's cutting through it.

  • a smart herb smoker u are my friend

  • i use Meerschaum pipe bowl on my bong.

it is the best bowl i have evver used.

get no funky taste at all with Meerschaum.

and after some use it turns into some kind of marmor/elfen bone coulor.

  • alot of people mistake meerschaum for some exotic wood untill\ they see it up close. it is actually a mineral which is really light and soft. i am not sure how they or if they have to harden it to keep it from rubbing down though.

  • is not wood is Meerschaum hence the term Meerschaum pipe

  • My bad I did not no what Meershaum was I thought it was a style of pipe not a material.

  • beautifull but is that wood?

  • that is genuine meerschaum

  • i wanna buy that pipe

  • you can buy that on the web. ermec pipo meerschaum pipe, write and search
