You can't use logic to argue against emotions. Logically illegal immigration in the form we see from Mexico is a drain on our economy, and an act of war. But I'll always have a place in my heart for the migrant workers that come to this country. See... I'm from Florida. Most of our sugar cane is harvested by illegal (and some legal) Guatemalans and other latin americans. Because they're illegal, companies often pay them $3 a day for grueling labor. Their living conditions are abyssmal. It's hard to not want to help them.

Ya, im from Texas. I have worked with lots of illegal immigrants. Most of them are hard working, and they rarely miss a day. I have a lot of respect for their work ethic, and consider a lot of the ones I know friends. They just want a better life for themselves and their families, but you have to draw the line somewhere. At some point when we are helping others, we are hurting ourselves. Im a welder and I cant make nearly as much as I used to because companies can hire 2 illegal....

.....immigrants for the price of me by paying them dirt wages that no American could live on. Most of the houses in the neighborhood I grew up in have like 5 families living in them so they all chip in to pay the rent. Most of them send money back to Mexico to the family members still there which adds up to a lot of $ that could be spent in our stores. You can't use logic to argue against emotions. Logically illegal immigration in the form we see from Mexico is a drain on our economy, and an act of war. Emotionally they are people fleeing their country to seek a better life for themselves and families. Both views are valid, but what it comes down to is your personal mindset. TO THE MAN WHO POSTED THIS VIDEO. You're obviously not an immigrant, so how can you claim to know the intentions of immigrants when they come into this country? When did you become a psychic? MAYBE IF THE USA HASNT BEEN EXPLOITING LATIN AMERICA AND ITS RESOURCES SINCE THE MONROE DOCTRINE, we wouldn't see so many immigrants fleeing to the USA from poverty. Why don't you try talking to a Mexican one day and find out what his life is really like, because you obviously don't know.

Being liberal is popular because it's compassionate and its consistent with the american ideology.
We are a country comprised almost entirely of immigrants. The immigrant work ethic is what built america. Immigrants have half the unemployment of regular citizens. The stupidity of anti immigration law is epic in the grandest way possible. Liberals have the ability to feel compassion for people who are born into shit hole countries and are willing to work hard to change that.

England was sufficiently crappy so people came over here and started America. And ever since then, the life blood of america, what has always made us great, is that the most proactive and hard working people form other nations came here.
They have lower unemployment rates than other Americans.
They are here to work, and that work ethic is what built America.

@herbzilla12 yes, because there was no established country with laws back then. we have that now. being hard-working doesn't mean you get to come here. there are billions of hard-working people around the world, we already allow over a million people a year to come here.

@centerrightpunk we should allow more to come here, immigration helps everyone because no one would transact with them unless they made themselves better off. if they're so unskilled and dirty why are you worried about them taking jobs? if they can offer a lower wage and get the employer to choose them without you lowering your wage, that means you're not worth the wage your getting. i dont favor governmental protection of anyone, and not having free immigration is all that is!

well it's written in the constitution that our country's sovereignty be protected. you can make all the hilarious economic arguments you want (some of which i highly doubt you abide by in your own personal life, like dramatically lowering your wage to compete directly with third-world workers), but that's how the law is written.

@centerrightpunk lol our country's sovereignty has to be protected from immigrants? you sound like some kind of biggot, our borders were open until 1914. we protect our sovereignty from other societies that threaten us, not people who want to join our way of life and follow our laws. i dont want to lower anyone's wage, i want to expand the supply of labor. our citizens can command their wages, less than 2% of the work force is on the min wage.
