Can you get all the rings without any mods to sonic? like the changing direction mid air or the sonic having the superboots all the time? you should be quite aware in the original sonic cant make it back up that slide with the red thing in the middle at 1:15, and that rings never pop out of the beetnix u kill.

Actually, it IS possible to make it back up there. You need to be on the top route. Jump down and hit the end of the incline that shoots you upwards (and hold Down when you do so). As for changing direction midair, you can't do the light dash or jump dash moves in the regular Sonic 1, but you can still get all the rings.

hold on, does the original mode in 4.0 have all the levels? the copy of 3.0 only had GHZ and Marble garden in it.

3.0 actually has all the levels, but you need to use level select to access them. 4.0 has them all available on a regular playthrough.

Yeah, in Megamix Sonic gets a lightdash and homing attack unlike in the original.

Megamix has its own levels, too, but you can also play the original S1 zones. For those, the only difference is that the enemies have rings in them, like in the Advance games and some others.
