Medieval wasn't beautifull. I love it because people was much more close to the nature than nowadays. Hate the jungle of houses. There are parks but... I would like to be a peasant too. You not lived for 80 years, but who cares. Lots of physical work and wars, but it was better than now I think. You worked with your family and with the people in your village. Don't like the 19th centory. That's the time when things went wrong and why we ended up here today.

@halallovag yes, there were less people, and nature was almost untouched, but life was really, really hard. And 19th century is actually the most romantic period (according to what history says) cause it supported the romanticism style. And in 19th, writer actually started to write gothic stories (and almost all gothic bands find their inspiration there or in medieval) like Dracula, Frankenstein, Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast... :)

I understand when people chose 19th century over 21st. but I don't understand those that prefer medieval times. It's nice when it's romanticized and when you look at great castles, but many people didn't live in castles. There were many, many wars, and people had nothing, even king and queen didn't have a lot of furniture. And there weren't medicines and half of those stuff that make life what we call life. Even the baroque era sucks, cause it supported class difference and it was over-kitchy.

Only some monarchies lived nicely...

Its not about the time you identify with but the characteristics you dont have + interest for a certain era. Nobody indentifies with a beggar (though I know someone who dresses like one and takes donations for cancer-ill children on medieval markets). The main point for me is, that those ancient times are much more uncomplicated.

It is beautiful, and the band and this song are great. My comment is send for those who think that in medieval times they will have everything, while in that time people were living really hard. You know, from 100 people, only some of them were knights. And not everyone lived in gorgeous castles, only the richest.

@Oswulf1 yes,they tried to reborn the gothic art.That's way some of the famous gothic buildings aren't from middle ages,but from late 18th and 19th century,in neogothic.We can try to revive it,but I think that it will be really hard,cause people are just going to more modern.If you live in a historic city like me,you can notice that only the central squares still have antique buildings(but on the inside they are modern),while almost all other old buildings are bulldozed for that huge skyscrapers

My favourite is obviously the weapons, armour and castles but I wouldn't mind owning any of that big, heavy, dark wooden furniture or the clothing and things along the lines of that. But yes many people don't realize how trying and dark those times were. I blame Hollywood and bad teachers.
