So a style of music can't be evil in and of itself, just like language can't be evil. The thoughts expressed by lyrics make a song good or bad, morally speaking.

I have listened to Stryper for the better part of a generation, or more. I have yet to find any discrepancy in their music and lyrics. In fact, when they play and sing, you feel the power of Christ penetrating that section of music that was mostly satanic. I wonder what bad things he has to say about them?
