Janos looks more like Melchiah than Turel. Turel had insect characteristics. Where as in here Janos doesnt look like an insect. Take a close look at Melchiah and then look at Janos. You'll see what i mean
It's either because he was corrupted when he was possessed by the Hash (Hylden general, the Unspoken, in other words the Sarafan Lord) in Defiance. Or maybe the corruption is from the Heart of Darkness (maybe it got corrupted while it was in Kain's body). Nupraptor's corruption is the reason Kain's sons (and indirectly Janos Audron, through the corrupted Heart of Darkness) devolved.
To create a vampire, the patriarch or matriarch must infuse the body with a fragment of his or her soul. That is why Kain's sons possessed the corruption. Because Kain gave the Sarafan priests a part of his soul (and thus his part of Nupraptor's curse) his devolution is much slower.
So the Heart of Janos' Blood Omen 2 incarnation is approx 2050 years older than himself, but this might not even bother him because he (and originally his own heart) are probably more than 11400 years old. This means the Beast's heart is 11400 + 2050 = 13450 years of age! LoL Gramps!
It is interesting to point out that in this scene, exactly 2 pieces of the Heart of Darkness meet together at one place at the same time. One is in the young 430 year old Blood Omen 2 incarnation of Kain which is 400 years old after his resurrection by Mortanius 400 years ago, and the other is approximately 2050 years old and recently torn out of the Defiance era Kain's chest when he was 2030 years old, and placed back into the chest of Janos before he later was imprisoned into the device.
@KingTeDdY62 The PARADOX visual effect only applies for Raziel's wraith form soul, a special element in the world. You need at least one wraith Raziel and a Soul Reaver, OR two Soul Reavers. The visual effect won't happen in the case of the human or the vampire Raziel, neither the Blood Reaver.
Janos devoled into a being similar to the monstrocities Raziel once called brothers... Does that mean that had more time passed, Raziel and his brothers could have evolved into something similar to Janos? After all Raziel seemed closer to this as he was the only one to grow wings.
This is wrong. Turel was the only one to morph into a creature like this when he was known as Hash-Ak-Gik (spelling mistake probably).
Raziel grew wings by chance; defying Kain by evolving before him. You could call it distilling the bloodline; getting as close to the Ancients as the Vampires could.
But Nosgoth was fading. This devolution was the Hylden's grip on the Vampires, and as it increased, more disgusting/'enhanced' devolution took place.
@Kaecyus I don't think so, he only transformed into that monster becuase of being imprisoned into the hylden jail...once the machine was destroyed he became his regular acient vampire self.
I didn't like it at first but it grew on me and I really enjoyed it, especially the stealth kills! It's not as polished as Soul Reaver or Soul Reaver 2, in particular the character animation. But it was more fun, if conventional.
@plarc Blood Omen II is a paradox scenario, it isn't what actually happened, it's a what-if involving some paradox Kain created, I don't remember the exact details but in THIS universe, Janos didn't have his heart torn out, he was made into this creature.
Kain walks in : gee Janos you've really let yourself go!
Janos beast: fuck you kain fuck you! try being held prisoner and your blood used to power a death machine for years,
Kain: your still hideous
Janos: dick

@BloodLack Nope, it's Janos. In his weakend state, he devolved. Also, Turel stood on two legs, not all four. I used to have this game.

Janos has the uncanny ability to know people's names despite never having met them.

@d4rklqrdnem3sys Yeah I think it's kinda odd that there is no "paradox" visual effect during this scene.

Thanks anyway for your explanations though, they make sense.
