  • LOVE IT! adore the subway tile... but to be honest the pixies make me uncomfortable.... but wow..killer job!

  • Where did you get the pot and pan rack?

  • uff dont like it... looks 1970s styled...

  • Ummmm u must b from Italy 2 lol

  • ways to save space

    tiny wife

    no kids

sleep on the stove or drivers side of the car

  • cool kitchen tricks - very helpful

  • Cute Kitchen!! Must have been fun putting it together! You should never be afraid to mix and match pieces that you love. That's the whole idea.

  • take out can be as inexpensive as cooking yourself if you split it between two people.....and any left overs eat the next day

  • @inkey2 Good point! We love splitting the bill and having leftovers for future meals! Thanks so much for watching.

  • I love the phone :)

  • @MAJazzy08 It's a cool one. Thanks!!! The phone was one of those lucky antique store finds, and it works very well - although you can't walk all around the apartment and talk; I once tried that and the cord yanked me back to reality! lol

  • Your stove reminds me of our previous stove and we needed to replace its knobs cz one or two were broken. So we contacted the company and asked them to send us the knobs of this model. They replied, sorry we can't send you because we stoped making this model years back, but can you send us the stove. We would like to keep it in our kitchen museum, lolz... I Miss that stove. :(

By the way, you have a cute kitchen, :)

  • Ohhh I must have missed the cookware...think it probably best for me to make a list just so I don't forget anything. Really do love the feet on the cabinets.

p.s. that is the shiniest tea kettle ever..kind of like blink on your cooktop

  • Geeze Jay your everywhere. Again your a genius with the detail to the bottom of the cabinets. Btw when I come for the sofa I am taking the tea kettle too. LOL LOL

  • @KissHope Taking the tea kettle is okay, but stay away from the pixies!!!! lol

  • Love your cute kitchen. I wish I could set my pie birds out but our two cats will break everything :(. We have a tiny retro kitchen as well.

  • @LeMarais88 Pie birds are the BEST! Too bad your kit-cats would also find them entertaining if they were displayed. Perhaps you can put them in a glass-fronted cabinet so they're safe from harm, but still out enough for everyone to see and enjoy them. Thanks so much for watching and your kind words! All the best, Jay

  • where did u get the rack for the pots and pans???

  • @xtina7885 We got it at Zabar's in NYC. Check on their website and call them up for more info. I see that they don't have it available online in their housewares section, but they have over 3,000 houseware items in their mezzanine at their store. Perhaps a call could help you track this one down. Good luck!

  • very nice! the phone is a hoot...love it!

  • How did you do the bottoms of the cabinets? I had a stove like this. I miss the darn thing too! What are your countertops?

    Thks great job.

  • @time2wakeuppeople Thanks so much for watching! Our countertops are a black Formica and the bottoms of the cabinets were designed with a black kickplate along a recessed base and custom-made cabinets that had that gentle turned leg (which doesn't bear all the support of the cabinet, but sure looks nifty).

  • I LOVE that kettle on the stove ! That is beautiful !

  • i looove your phone!!! wow sooo cool

  • What's with the ugly green phone

  • wow. 1 practical tip. absolutely amazing.

  • Nothing to be amazed about. Your channel is all about survivalist tips. This video was on decorating your kitchen and maximizing space in a small apartment. Apples. Oranges.

  • uppppps sorry, great video, beautiful kitchen :)

  • Thanks for watching! The fridge really didn't appear much in this video, but there's a small counter on the right of the stove and the fridge is on the right of it, so everything is convenient.

  • where is your fridge?

  • i love that fone! lol

  • I love your paper towel holder

  • OMG! Someone still using a rotary phone.

  • I know. Crazy, huh?!

  • LOVE THE PHONEEEEEEEEEEE!

  • I guess I was expecting advise from people who cook in their kitchen but your kitchen is certainly cutely decorated and straight people could benefit from it.

  • Thanks for watching! And funny you should mention cooking -- we've started to cook a LOT more now. We like to shop for fresh local produce and put together healthy homecooked meals. Who can afford to go out as much these days?

  • I love your kitchen, You have great decorating skills. If I may suggest, I wish you would've done a tour of your whole apt. I would of loved to have seen the rest of it.

    thanks

  • Lisa, many thanks for watching and for your kind words. We definitely have other videos posted on my channel of the rest of the apartment as well as a country house in Pennsylvania, so feel free to click on over to our channel and browse. Enjoy!

  • I have that same cookie jar! it was in my grandmother's kitchen and was one of my earliest memories as a child. it now sits on the counter of my loft in Atlanta, and it's about 45 years old!

  • lol It's fun to see these kinds of things popping up all over the country, isn't it! Maybe some day your cookie jar can visit our cookie jar!!!

  • VERY NICE!

The feet under the cabinets, the toaster, & phone, & 50's diner girls! And you know, if you really think about it, some of the best resteraunts don't have giant kitchens & they turn out wonderful meals! Gas is much better than electric!

From my kitchen to yours... my baked pork chops over rice recipe: line a baking sheet with foil, place your prok chops, spoon golden mushroom soup over each one bake @350 30 to40min. Serve over buttery rice & a romane salad with feta & olives ! ENJOY

  • THANKS for watching, GCP!!! The recipe you gave will definitely be tried out in our lil kitchen; as a former Iowa boy, I'm totally in for anything pork choppy. I've also been enjoying taking chicken breasts (rinse off and pat dry), dipping them in flour then one beaten egg then in panko (Asian style bread crumbs!), then baking them in greased dish for 40 minutes or so (turn them over halfway). The Panko can be plain (to which I add spices) or honey panko. ENJOY!

  • I dont have enough money to eat out everyday must be nice. Then again I'd prefer to cook

  • I like the rack, where did you get it?

  • Thanks for watching! As I recall, the rack came from a kitchen supply store here in New York City, but I've definitely seen them in Williams Sonoma and other online stores. Have a great day. Best, Jay
