when people put this thing up to an ipod, the ipod immediately looks lacking simply because of how vibrant its screen is and how deep the blacks are. also, i don't care about apps. it's just a very sturdy music player that does its job well. i would take anything besides that old, overdisplayed ipod interface...

At the corner of the screen it tells me the battery is charging the symbol but when i go to take it out. the whole zune just turns off i got it today i dont know what to do im i charging it wrong? or what?When i first got it and plugged it in the middle of the screen shows a battery and says charging now all it says is connect and right when i got it i uploaded songs should i delete them and let the zune charge?

I like my Zune HD. I was one of the first in line to buy the original 30 gb, and this one blows it out of the water. The music sounds perfect, the graphics are amazing. Occasionally I have issues with the marketplace acting funny, and I never thought the Social was that great an idea. None of my friends have Zunes, their problem-but it makes it challenging to get going on the Social(which is a silly concept anyways, but anyhow).

Great device, lots of love for Zune HD.

@misterpimp5757 Usually the Zune program will come once you plug in and after you do all of the installation processes. Zune player for the computer is a lot nicer and easier to use than itunes is, but that's just IMO.

I've had my itough for over 2 years, and its only 16gb, i'm ready to move on to something new like the 32gb zune, it looks awesome, much slicker and sleeker. If you're trying to say the Iphone/touch is better because of the apps, just go buy a DSi and stop your whining, apple can't even do music, video and now radio like microsoft. i think you'd have to be more gratefull than gloaty about the fact that microsoft hasn't decided to open an Appstore, and since the community is bigger, that means more apps many if not all, free of charge. the possibilities are there.

zune hd > ipod touch. The only thing the touch has on the zune right now is apps. what do you expect, 2 years vs 3 months? Give the zune some time, it probably never have as many apps as the ipod, but 70% of ipod apps are terrible.

BOTTOMLINE: Zune HD can view 720p videos, has radio and a slight better music quality than itouch. However, itouch have thousands of more apps, a faster and easier internet, and better design(this is just my opinion.) So its really up to your preference.
