  • JOHNNY CASH BOUGHT ME HERE.

LIKE IT BETTER WHEN HE SINGS ALONE WITH HIS GUITAR.

  • One of the best songs of all times, like American Remains from The Highwayman

  • I love this! Thanks for posting it!

  • i love this song sooo much (:

  • I really like his old songs. I saw the movie "Nashville Rebel". I've been looking for this song for a while. Thanks. A buddy of mine had the album but by the time I got it to record the songs the album was worn out.

  • i kinda like his son shooter's cover of this song better but still great song no matter which version i hear

  • I do love that man. Such a beautiful voice to the end. God Bless Jessie, you kept him together.

  • I do love that man. Such a beautiful voice to the end. God Bless Jessie

  • There was only one Waylon. This makes my favorites, thx for posting it.

  • @greeneyedstone42 Your welcome !!!

  • I like the guitar version better personally better, i think it has more feeling. this is still really good though

  • @GraceLondonMusic I love any ersion of this tune Grace thank you for commenting

  • who could not like this song it is the best listened to it to much when i was younger love it to dang much????

  • @healyification thanks for commenting tc..

  • what record is this on i cant find it

  • Waylon understood the feeling of this song. One of his best.

  • @crwfrdvllw Yea it is glad you think so too ...tc

  • Waylon Jennings. Country music singers today can't even dream nor wish to be anywhere close to this country music icon. I think radio stations should play more of him(even on so called country music of today) Even my local classic country radio station wont play his songs very much. Everytime I request one..the DJ's shoot me down. I just don't understand what happend to country music..it's slipping away from the roots/outlaws...Please someone bring back good ol' country..

  • @88tbird I gotta tell you it's heading all the way back to the control of Nashville paymasters

.............look whats coming out today and they call it country some body as gotta be having a laugh........People like us don't find it funny great comment thank you

  • @teddie488 what are u talking about? "some body as gotta be having a laugh" then you say dont find it funny great comment thank you? what are you getting at?

  • I LOVE THE HIGHWAYMEN

  • Hey Eddie...Can you delete arnycarson remark?

  • @teeger66 Hi teeg i have deleted Amy Carsons remarks i left it purposely , hoping perhaps that people would realise what an ignorant young foul mouth ''slapper'' she obviously is by the way according to her page she is 23 .. what a waste of space she is..thanks teeg

  • im 19 and i love listening to music like this in my room when relaxing i heard aprt of this song from the film walk the line and instantly liked it.. so found out who sang it and loved it.... im surprised theres only 65,000 views people obivously dont know about him enough!!

  • I just had to go back and listen to this one again..No one else could sing this soulful mournful song...like Waylon could...seeing as that he wrote it! Happy to see that so many more young folks are enjoying WJ's music..may his music live on!

  • @teeger66 Hi teeg yea i agree this Waylon at his best. There is something about with the way Waylon sings these songs i bet it is a favourite of all the young men out in Iraq and Afghanistan right now. It brings images of these brave young men to mind when ever i listen to

    it. God Bless teeg

  • @teddie488 Yes...its funny...I always thought so too...about servicemen in wars in far off lands... "Someone please watch over me!"

  • @teeger66 I agree with you about Waylon's version being the best, but not to be a know-it-all or contradict you, but Hank Cochran wrote this song and this is just Waylon's interpretation of that song. Keep enjoying great music!

  • @dunebuggyattack1974 I appreciate the info...I always thought WJ wrote this song...TY.

  • Awesome song..... love this guy.... and my comment to the young fellow, 82LMRideas.... I find it refreshing to see a younger one who can appreciate good music... Nice choice 82LMRideas

  • @Hanna43797,,, Very well said Hanna thanks for input ..tc

  • Im a 28 year old dude and I love these songs, they have meaning to them. What happend to this kind of talent? All you hear now is just noise, rarely do you hear something worth turning up the volume knob. But when I hear Waylon, the whole house hears Waylon, and me trying to sing along, sorry baby.

  • @82LMRideas Great comment noe the sad thing is you don't know how many you comverted havin your music loud but it don't matter it'll be plenty ...tc

  • @82LMRideas I also try to sing along but don't we all sound like Elvis in the shower or when ever no one is around to hear us.

  • @82LMRideas I'm 29 and I agree completely mate, Personally I blame Simon Cowell and the like, to youngsters these days music is just a route to fame, not an end unto itself.

    Sorry, rant over

  • its so hard to find a bright spot in todays world.. everyones out for money, and i mean everyone. cant ramble if you wanted because gas is so damn expensive, hearing music of today without an ounce of soul put into is rippin out my soul by the minute. this is coming from one born in 92'. i can barely walk out my door because even the air taste corrupt. it gets pretty bad when your so down you cant even play your guitar. i dont know how people still make it anymore.

  • @HendrixClaptonSRV . Hey do be so down didn't Waylon and Willie did n't buck the system and got there way .

  • this music takes me back my old man used to sing it i do this song if you want to check it out all my music is under ajforkum

  • This got my attention in Walk the Line...when shooter is playing his dad, in his and JC's apartment - I love it sooo much, this music is in my blood. I swear I can smell my Grandma"s cookin', and hear my Grandpa's voice. It takes me back to a wonderful place...it's not "sad" music to me.

  • @AJWelch111 Your not alone, there are things about this tune that waken all kinds of emotions deep inside.

  • I'm 76 yrs old and I love this song but I must say my generation owes a lot to artists such as The Lady Gah Gah and M and Ms because although I love this song, change is good as well.

  • @illbegawddamd. Someone is telling ''lies'' your channel tells us your 31yrs old and there ain't a single country song on there. But Thanks for commenting. I don't feel i need music from either of the two people you mention, and don't like it at all .... Ain't it good some of us real old ones no how to use these new computer things ...

  • @teddie488 Hey you caught me. I am really not 76 years old as you saw on my channel. You know what they say about idle hands and idle minds......I just wrote that out of boredom. However I do think it is cool when older people know how to use the "new computer things." and also I do like this song and am glad you posted it. Anyhow, sorry for the lie.

  • @illbegawddamd,, Well that is a real nice thing to do an i thank you for that, you are quite a gentleman .... you are allowed to get bored once in a while , i do believe you liked the song thank you ...

  • Hi Waylon is standing on the right of Willie

  • good song

  • sure is

  • In the Stagecoach pic is Standing is Johnny Cash, Willie and Waylon and kneeling is Kris Kirstopherson and John Schneider :-) After The Dukes John did grow a big mustach and had the beard for few years.

  • Hey Eddie ... Is that Ringo Starr in that pic by the stagecoach in this vid ?

  • BA i can see what you mean, lol... but it is a younger Kris Kristofferson

  • R.I.P. HOSS...

  • The easy thing to say is that Waylon's music is Buddy Holly in 3/4 time. It likely began there but my how that boy grew...A giant,really...

  • Well that may have applied for a while, but Waylon had his very own stamp

after a while, and Buddy was an inspiration thats for sure.

  • an awesome afternoon is...

me and waylon and my buddies...

    a bottle of jack ....

    and a bbq

    and some skeet shooting

  • I would av liked to av joined you tc my friend

  • love drinking to waylan and thinking what could have been

  • I'd like to have drank with him

  • Respond to this video...did you guys know that it was his son playing waylon in walk the line? and how dare you GOOSE216. ive read about waylon, johnny cash, elvis and all those guys, and waylon carried that guilt feeling responsible for the death of a rock legend until the day he died when it wasnt his fault one bit, you should be ashamed of yourself you ignorant asshole.

  • @G00SE2-16-- if youknew anything about waylon, you'd know him and the big bopper were close friends.

  • @G00SE216 he gave his seat up so he wasnt the pilot he dint crash that plane bac in 59

  • i know i posted yesterday with a "crude" comment. but after watching walk the line (and knowing just -of- waylon) but never really listening to anything..i gotta say his music is deep and depressing for all the right reasons ive been listening to alot of these songs and im happy i looked him up. and will keep checking out more songs

  • really your that pissed? you were best friends with the bopper or something. or your like 70 and got your first handy to one of his songs in your dads continental. fuck the big bopper.

  • For everyone my friend take care

  • Well you should av been put to sleep at birth you fucking plank.....and as i remember he was asked to change his seat because JP was feeling to good .Idiot

  • Hi Teddie448, this song says exactly what I feel. Could you tell me the albulm and record label, year this was off of? Couldn't find it on itunes and am trying to request it. Thanks :)

  • Hi Teddie I wanted to post a big thank you for helping me get a hold of the MP3 for this song, really appreciate it!!!!

    Maritza

  • My brother is a marine and he is in california.

He told me to listen to this song. He said he listens to it a lot.

This is a beautiful song, just not when he is that far.

  • I understand that God Bless you and your brother

  • this is a beutiful song, that guy in the picture ay 1:55 is john schneider from the movie stagecoach

  • Yea thats what i thought too thanks for that

  • I think there's Johnny R. Cash too

  • This song most certainly fit Waylon's life style on the road. He was the perfect one to sing it.

  • I like the way they used this song in "Walk the Line". Johnny woke up one day and realized he was pretty far from home and Waylon singing a song about that very thing.

But in that picture is Johnny, Waylon, Willie and Kris but who's that other man at 1:55 He sure looks like a big bastard!

Some dude said he liked this song but don't like country?

Fella, you strip music down to just a tune, some words and a guitar or piano, and words like "country" and "pop" don't matter.

    Waylon's SOUL is in it

  • I ain't 100% sure but i think it is John Schneider, yea you are so right about labelling music, we will all carry on doing it tho, That is how Waylon became a country ''outlaw '' but i do agree definately . Thx for a great comment

  • Its bo from the dukes of hazzard, the picture is from the movie stagecoach they all starred in

  • Awesome song! I really liked his sons version from "Walk the Line," and this is the first time I've heard the original. I'm sure glad I thought to look it up! Gonna have to look for it on a karaoke cd, to mix in w/all my Johnny Cash karaoke cds, lol.

  • Yea it's one of the best, thx

  • Thanks Danny for commenting call back sometime ..Tc my friend

  • Thanks MaryJulie glad you called tc

  • What a great song ! Its perfect

  • yea it is a superb song thank you for the comment

  • Waylon , Jessi , and Shooter are all fantastic in their own right. R.I.P Waylon. Great song brother thanks for the post

  • yea it is a beautiful tune thx for the comment

  • Beautiful song. Ramblin Man is my song, and I don't think that's a good thing sometimes...but thanks for posting this brother! Him and his generation were the best there'll ever be imop...

  • Johnny cash is my hero but i like this song to the first time i heard this was on walk the line and i liked the way the dude played it so i wanted to here the real version its very touching

  • the dude who played it in the movie is his son, shooter.

  • ya im pretty sure it was shooter

  • He has such a beautiful voice doesn't he, i absolutely love this....another one goin straight to my favorites, TY Eddie

  • I don't choose favourites when it comes to Waylon but you hear something like this one , i can't help but say this is a favourite Lol thx Kim

  • RIP WAYLON JENNINGS

  • Agree with that

  • i am 23 and love this song... i grew up listening to the old country singers and it brings me back... also when shooter jennings sang this song in "Walk the Line" he was awesome.

  • Yea it is just a greay, great song thx tc

  • @wimpeycourtney I agree.. But im trying to find that clip too, but cant find it :S

  • @wimpeycourtney hell yea my almost better

  • My old man and I love this stuff. Anybody ever listen to AM1070 the ranch outta wichita? this seams like its always on.

Waylon Wille Cash Kristofferson are the greatest artists of all time. And for once I agree with "The Possum" George Jones, this new country needs a new name already.

  • And i agree with all of you, but at 62 i suppose i'm pretty old myself TC

  • @elirednecker

Man, anytime I actually listen to the radio, it's on 1070. Gentle Ben is my favorite country dj, and I'm a huge fan of the song of inspiration at the top of every hour. glad to know somebody else in this town is tuning in too.

  • I am partial to Johnny Western myself. He always has some story about his great carreer. He has lived it.

It also makes me mad though, that they play only 3 songs and then 5 minutes of commercials, but they play just great music.

  • i wonder if, 100 years from now, people will still be listenin' to old music like this. and still livin' the simple life. Nashville needs to start caring about the music and not the money

  • he really makes you feel what he felt when he sings... they don't make 'em like this anymore

  • and there will never be another Nice comment TC

  • thanks i'm only 14 but i love all the classic country

  • It is a real pleasure in that case, it is great when some one as young as yourself is getting in to Waylon and should be encouraged , when you are an ''Old Fart'' like myself, i hope you will be passing on the words of Waylon ...God Bless you

  • where did you get the pic at 1:55? that would be a badass poster.

  • This song is actually really sad and i like the meaning.. It's a really good song. Thanks for posting it ;)

    Sorry for my bad english

    Country is just great!

  • Hey your English is excellent thank for taking the time to comment.i hope you call back

    Take care

  • Best waylon song ever! hands down

  • thanks for commenting you could be right

  • The sadest song I've ever heard!!!

  • yea so sad

  • i like hardcore music like Stick to Your Guns and Rise Agains, but i can still aprecciate Waylons great musical skills, im not a big fan of country, but i do like some.

  • Thats very fair, i appreciate comments like yours, because they are kind of unexpected,

there are genres of music i cannot stand then a band sings a song, an' i think god that was good, so thank you for commenting

  • LOVELY!!!!!!!

  • I agree TC

  • beautiful,and i dont like country music :)

  • Well you don't have to like Country to like one song i don't think to much of Prince but Purple Rain is a real favourite of mine , so i get you point completely, some

songs just hit something...Thx for a great comment

  • This is so great! Thanks for posting!

  • I never heard this song til I seen Walk the Line. Ihave been looking for the song in alot of different places. I guess this is the first time on youtube. I appreciate this alot. Been wanting to hear Waylon do it. And I do agree, not to cut on Shooter, but I guess you cant beat the original. Wonderful video with awesome pictures.

Great. Maybe I'll learn the words and do a cover of it.

  • you do that Whiky an' post it so we all can see

    TC

  • finally, the origonal recording of this one by waylon..thanx!!!!!!!!

  • and the best one, surprised it aint already on you tube tho TC

  • You see a lot of the same pics on all the vids, there aint too many about, but they do seem to keep all of us Waylon fans happy, as long as the music is good , an' it can't be anything else with Waylon thx again Ray

  • I agree with both of you hugewaylonfan & teeger. Excellent choice of photos!!

That is one thing about Waylon's singing that I love is he sings with so much feeling you are sure he experienced everything he sang about.

    Hats off to the Hoss!

  • I agree Teeger { WAYLON RULES }

  • me too thx
