i love the sound of this song, its beautiful, couldnt understand why unreleased, then after listening to for a time, the lyrics became apparent, no offence intended, durans lyrics are mostly tight, clever and worthy, but a song about a coversation about the wife getting ready, keepin the husband waitin is such a waste of a beautiful song. i think thats what its about, now ive said it aloud, i think, " no can't be, no one would have such silly premise 4 a song" am i wrong?
Where can you buy Astronaut sessions? I have Astronaut album not the b-tracks. I was thinking of going to a local record shop getting it special order.
I've seen it a few places, among them, the book on Billboard Number 1 Hits of the Rock Era under "The Reflex" entry.
Funny story from an interview about that pic. (I think) Very early on, it was unfashionable to have bands smile in pics. On the heels of punk you were supposed to stare down the camera. The photographer said "Now, whatever you do, DON'T SMILE!" The band, of course, thought it was terribly funny and there ya go.
for me..iam and from ireland...i remember being and on adate..the girl gave, meseven and the ragged tiger...i already loved rio and girls on film and planet earth..after these recent years of astronaught and the new album...why the hell didnt they release this a a song...this one is a winner!
Wow! This is a really rare find! I don't know how you got it, but I'd love to be able to upload it to my MP3 player (no, I don't have an iPod :P).
The pics are great, too. Many I don't think I've seen, and I still have most of my pics I collected back in the early 80s O_o (I did just order the book "Unseen...Photographs 79-82")
I thought I knew everything about Duran Duran when I was 18 back in 1983, But all the interviews, photos, videos on Youtube have shown me how much I missed out on.....Bummer....Still love them though....and to Andy! Come on back Brother!
I would guess it's Anna Ross, the touring backup singer. I could be wrong. I heard they were originally going to use Gwen Stefani and release this as a single. Not sure why it never happened.
@sdpadrefan I strongly suggest uploading the remix of this song. It is far superior to this version. I just got the Astronaut sessions CD and the remix of this song is the one track I cannot get out of my head.
@sdpadrefan Thank God, not having that squealing, stupid barbie on it, it's bad enough the original talentless squealing bitch Madonna is still here, without all her flaming clones being welcomed & offered guest spots to people a million times better!
@sdpadrefan Anna Ross is NOT the singer here. First off Anna Ross was not the original singer on the Astronaut Tour. They had that bald chick for a while (see Live from London 2004). She didn't come until 2005. This song was recorded in 2003 way before their involvement of Anna Ross.
Man they need to hurry up and release the 3rd box set with all these unrelease tracks and b-sides plus mixes. Seems like Astronaut should've been a double cd.

I asked JT about the singer and he had a hard time remembering who it was. But he said, it's not Anna Ross or Tessa Niles (from Come Undone).
