  • 2:50 looks like Ringo Starr

  • Those gypsy-dancers in this video are hot. yikes!

  • buenisiimaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!_____=D

  • Someone should make an AMV of this and Baccano, I think it would fit.

  • I was about 12ish maybe 13 when this song hit the charts man, Johnny Tsunami was on disney. I'm 28 now and shit ain't the same. I'm gonna invent a time machine and me and the guy above me are gonna go back and enjoy life the way it used to be. Back when things made since.

  • Here, in Brazil, this kind of music is called "brega"...A Very popular kind of music, made by very popular singers

  • Solid song.

  • This song kick ass

  • this is the closest they got to Rock a Billy back then!

other than the KING Brian Setzer

  • So, with 5 million hits and 15K likes...well, maybe it really is a good tune...or?

  • Hey, what's neat is this song is from the album "All the Pain Money Can Buy" in 1998...and look at the responses now. Seems to me to qualify as a CLASSIC. It is, in fact, based on a real incident, which I posted the details somewhere before. Out of Austin Texas, area. An old couple who "disappeared" and later were found in their car in a ditch. Go look it up. Fastball just got it right in their interpretation.

  • The way=The 90's.

  • Oh my middle school years...:)

  • lol look at this guy

  • Gracias brother a qui encontre nombres de algunas canciones que estaba buscando, gracias.

  • Ahh NOW 1..Good times..Sex and Candy..Zoot Suit Riot..and this..classics from my childhood

  • elvis costello ripoff. but that's ok

  • Classic video..... Was a great tune in its time

  • Gotta say, this song is like a throw-back to the 50s and 60s. Still digging this song.

  • Anyone else watch this and love it as a kid only to get older and realize how slightly twisted the song and lyrics and story really is? dang! :D

  • @angelsfalldown Yep. From what I remember this song is something that really happened in real life. A group of kids got lost and died.

  • @ewells2420 This is about real-life happenings, but not kids. Researched this song for a school project a few years back. An old couple were heading to a family reunion, but never made it. Tony Scalzo (bassist and singer) optimistically thought they'd just run off, sick of the world around them. They turned up dead in the desert shortly after this song was written

  • @Forsale9 Its about the Ancient Chinese philosophy Taoism. Research it ;)

  • @RedComrade I did... You can find multiple references pointing towards a real-life couple getting lost as the song's motivation... Yes, "The Way" refers to Taoism. At least, as a quote. This song is not about Taoism

  • Man this brings me back. Reminds me how good we had it back in the 90's. I MISS YOU 90's.. :(

  • I was little when this came out, I remember singing it in the car with my mom. When I found out what the song was about I got pretty bummed but I still love it and I remember all the lyrics.

  • I was a toddler when this song came out..such a relaxing song :D

  • About 13 years ago, my beloved mother and I went on a road trip to do some genealogical work on the family. It was an amazing trip in many ways. One of the things that stood out was my (then 68 year old) mother's immediate affection for this song. I was pleased that she liked it so much because it was also one of my favorites at the time.We talked about the lyrics and the incident that inspired them. In the intervening years, my mother has slipped away into dementia. Now this song makes me cry.

  • This song is a great example of a band hitting everything the right way. I love the Texan bar band guitar solo and the great look the dancing senorita gives the guy that plays it. The best thing about it is that it could have been recorded any time in the last 20 years.

  • this song was the song of my 90s (or the first 10 years of my life)

back then i didnt know what it was called and the depressing thing is it took me until i was 20 (today) to find out and finally hear it somewhere other than the radio

  • @Bryksawguitar how did u find it then?

  • @Bryksawguitar yeah 22 here!

  • awesome song

  • My goal as a guitarist is to get a band together and just do music in the style of the 90's.

  • holy fuck ive been looking for this song for 4 years. i knew how to hum it but i didnt know the words. FINALLY

  • the good music times....were did they go....oh yeah to bullshit like lady gaga and lil wayne

  • Ohh mtv how i miss you ...:(

  • @nerycioso lol... i miss mtv too... but i love youtube a hell of alot better... here you can choose, mtv you couldnt.... even though they played videos they also played alot of crap... they even threw mainstream music into headbangers ball... .

  • Fuck you.

  • sounds like a certain Tom Jones number..

  • I seriously consider this one of my all time favorite songs. Like top 10. EASY.

  • Interesting music video, not bad but weird and interesting

  • i loved this song growing up

  • Reminds me of junior high.

  • It's songs like these that make me miss the 90s :/

  • lovely song, awful video.

  • the 90s... the last great decade!

  • I love his faces at the beginning

  • Comment removed

  • esta cancion me encanta pero el video no cae con la cancion

  • MTV as a music network is obsolete. Stop clinging to the past! And don't act like you don't own an iPod or a smartphone and have access to music you like 24/7 now (which was pretty much the nail in the coffin for giving people a reason to no longer need to tune in to MTV).

  • The thing I love about this song is that when I hear it, I can FEEL the 90's.

  • They sure loved The Beatles : D

  • be sure to count urself

  • 13860 fags watched this

  • @auraisabelpa you one of them, yeah?

  • fuck new music, fuck newer technology, fuck people changing. Where's the 90's where life was good, MTV played music, no body was texting every damn second of their wasted lives, people were relaxed, music was amazing, people were out messing around, concerts were the thing to go to, drugs and what not. I dont know about you but the 90's was the time of my life and now a days, everything changed.

  • @MonsterRally43 times didn't change, you just got older.

  • @MonsterRally43 The dream of the 90's is alive in Portland.

  • @MerBearStare Ha! Perfect! Heard this on my way to PDX after making jokes about that series to my girl. Put a bird on my bag before I left for work.

  • @MonsterRally43 people still do all that....cept not texting.

  • @MonsterRally43 I shall magically transform you into Kurt Cobain, and you will live on in rock and roll greatest. *Poof*

  • I remember seeing Fastball with Everclear and Marcys playground back in 98 at the Hollywood Palladium. My second concert!

  • @wipano Bendito VH1 ... :)

  • omg i was 8 when this song came out..15 years later and im still listening to it on youtube

  • I listened to this track so much before I joined the Service that I was completely blown away when Fastball did a free concert in the park in Norfolk, VA the day before my first overseas deployment.....The world works in mysterious ways

  • i spent 6 hours looking for this damn song... classic.

  • @slingingofstars69 me too , not 6 hours , 2 years.. xD

  • so, this was the song that reached #1 during my birth date.

  • the video telling the story in the lyrics wouldn't be "a radical concept", it'd be completely overliteral and dull

  • ahhhh, my childhood song<3 when I was 4 :D

  • awesome song

  • While I love the song, this video totally SUCKS! It would be nice if the video "told" the "story" that was being reflected in the song! What a radical concept.

  • hey that was before mtv became empty tv!

  • A song about a group of people who got drunk one night and drove off and got in a car crash.

  • How the hell can 293 people not like this? Who do people who cannot hear bother to watch music videos?

  • @antney1108 yea man, I agree. it's ok for people to have personal opinions but those better not be wrong! boy, do I hate people with wrong personal opinions!

  • suke dengar lagu nih.first mula dengar mase sekolah dulu 1998 sampai sekarang masih lagi nak dengar lagu nih

They do call you slackers, but you know itz all wrong. You've seen towers crash and burn. You've seen money and lives crash and burn. You know itz all wrong and you want differen. Childrenof the '90's let your heart inform your actions and your vote next year.

  • @BillyJimOMFG .. Are you high, or just incredibly stupid?

  • Pôôôôôra! Fastball !!!

  • Wow, MTV had music videos? lol

  • @ABWorsham4 Yes, child. In times imemorable, MTV played music videos...Most of the ideal has been long since lost to history. But, if you press your ear to the TV hard enough, you can still hear good music...

  • immemorable...sorry

  • @jonnythesmilingcat hahahahahahahaha

  • @jonnythesmilingcat I tried that when MTV was playing the jersey shore. Now I have syphilis.

  • I love the different decades of music, and how one decade clearly Builds the other decade of music!

  • I thought this song was about death.

  • You're welcome, you fucking silent sheep from the Silent Scope game that went out with the airport one day.

  • It's something that resembles the Benefits Concert for Douglas Knight and the Crack Pipe Band.

We'll pass, America. And no, "I'll kill you" is STILL venacular for the British. Even the expatriots. As venacular is for a , say Britney Spears Disney spun model that acts out objection mimicing accents from other personal insults.

Sorry, US Press and solicitor. There's not one Secret Service Agent here, and that means NO story for you.

NOT ONE. ZERO surveillance. Just NUTTERS on the registry.

  • @BillyJimOMFG .. you are an incoherant dumbass , dumbass! I suppose you hate this song because Big Dick Bob is doing your woman and he got her liking it! the song that is. oh and definately the dick! and im canadian dumbass! billyjim. what is that? some redneck inbred name? dumbass!

  • ...costing taxpayers of PancakeLand $300, 000 a year just to think about it.

Hmmm... HMMMM... "Bro, that;s HUGE and DUMB. But he'd never do that, cuz that's stupid for him, but millions of others might. So even tho we knew he wasn't threatening anyone, was that crime to give an idea when $100 Billion in facebook from another stolen one is OK. Hmmm, like Virgin. HMMM. IS that criminally stupid to allow a "thought"What about the 17 years and snuffing that hapened after they ALREADY KNEW it wasn't?

  • Awwwwww....not another "Chosen of all chosen of mother of ll chosen ones" on the Cross now. Awwww.......

What happened to "suicide solution" for the smile creeping cross my face and airspace again?

AWWWW.... well, you and the RCMP and PRESS "Coverage" of even stolen pitches talk about that. And I"m sure that's what you'll do. Its what made Amerivca great, talking about other people like Canada does.

Obama and the USSS will right there talking about the "DJ machine" running at 60Hz foreever.

  • 2004 = "Hey thats when MTV played good music."

2011 = "Hey thats when MTV played music."

  • @neps1353 1983 thats when MTV played music. just music

  • @neps1353 MTV plays music?

  • @neps1353

    horse shit.......

2011 "Hey thats when MTV played "Jersey Shore" and "Teen Mom"

  • @deadstarchild lol u totally don't get the top comment.

  • @deadstarchild Are you really that dumb to not see where he went with that? Well, I'll explain it to you: He's saying that people in 2004 would've said "Hey, that's when MTV played good music," and people in 2011 would say "Hey, that's when MTV played music!"

    Glad to help, kid. ;)

  • I've seen this song played a few times on shows that are focused on supernatural themes and vampires come to mind from something I saw that remains lodged in the back of my consciousness. The truth of the matter is that vampires in particular are known for their sexual appeal and ambiguity. I have always loved this song and it fits in well with a faltering yet guiding light I call my projects and my life.

  • the great missing song of my 90s collection; i have finally remembered you!

  • I love the song, but didnt really like the video. Just my opinion. And yes, the skys were bluer in the 90's :)

  • I was raised with this song but never knew the name. I had forgotten about it but remembered it when I heard this on the radio a few years ago. I'd been searching for it and finally found it again. :) <3

  • thegoodteacher(dot)com

  • Love the guitar solo in this song!! Sounds like Indian or somethin, Fantastic!!

  • "thats my taste in men" but "i'm straight though". i think someone is confused, very confused hence the name bandAIDS. i aint hatin bro just be honest with yourself.

  • @esweet7 I am being honest with myself. I am a heterosexual male. There are a select few men that I would screw. Actually, that's not entirely honest... The thought of actually having sex with them still kinda disgusts me. Let's just say that if I was forced to go gay, but given a choice as to who I would screw, I would have a few men in mind. This guy would be one of them. The other two that come to mind are dead. There is one other, but only back when he was young.

  • @Bandaids4ever nuff said.

  • @esweet7 did his pointed ears give itaway LOL!

  • The guy below me is gay

  • @Eggborg Trust me, if I was gay, I'd be the first person to admit that. :P

  • The lead singer of this band is one of the few dudes I would go gay for if given the opportunity. I find him unbelievably attractive. That's my taste in men. Right there. I'm straight, though, so my taste in women is pretty much anything with a vagina.

  • The exercise at the beginning with the weird chick is actually great for lower back pain! FYI

  • 291 people didnt find their way

  • Ah le cégep !

  • Back in the day I used to think that the 90's sucked, now it's the 00's and I have changed my mind!!

  • I DON'T KNOW WHY, BUT THIS SONG MAKES ME SAD... ''They'll Never get hungry

They'll never get old and gray, You can see their shadows Wandering off somewhere... They wanted the highway, They're happier there today''... SOUNDS LIKE HEAVEN...

  • This was the first music video I ever saw

  • CAN'T. STOP. LISTENING.

  • thumbs up if still listening in 2011 !

  • Great song, great video, and I always loved how they sneaked a bit of 'Foolish Games' into the very beginning. :0 It's so soft and bried that a lot of people miss it.

  • He reminds me of Steve from Blues Clues.

  • MTV's Good times... now it just sux~

  • この曲すきなんだよね、野郎cdパクってんじゃねーよっ!

  • Those where the good times. Without so much Jersey Shore or any other crapy show on Mtv.

  • the drummer reminds me of Kenneth from 30 Rock

  • "Anyone could see the road that they walk on is paved in gold, and it's always summer they'll never get cold, they'll never get hungry they'll never get old and gray."

  • dear god,.....

can you send me back to 90's..amen.

  • this is a beautiful song even in the lyrics. The Way expresses a newborn sentiment, and a sense of freedom. The sentiment is a new awaking or dawn to a new you who is in a new place. Like if you moved away and started completely fresh in a foreign country. A light turns on as you get to redefine yourself in an invigorating, happy, and open disposition. Somehow, this artist was able to indirectly express this complex sentiment. Brilliant, wonderful!

  • TimothyDeLaGhetto; brought me here, forgot i loved this song.

  • @xv6brandon Harvy Danger's Flagpole Sitta led me here. Forgot this song existed.

  • Funny thing is this song is based off a true story where an old couple was heading either from their kids or to their kid's house and ended up getting lost/decided to travel more. Sadly they ended up driving off of a cliff and dying :(

  • @monkeywolf i actually heard it was about an old couple who had alzheimer's and got in their car and no one ever saw them again. "When the car broke down they started walking" "They wanted the highway. They're happier there today" "They won't make it home but they really don't care"

  • @reszzz Was it that they had Alzheimer's? I mainly just remember the part about them leaving their daughter or son's house or going to it and never showing up.

  • Comment removed

  • @monkeywolf

Nah, I think they were just irresponsible. "They'll never get hungry, they'll never get old and grey. The children also woke up and couldn't find them, which likely suggest that they're still quite young, and the opening line of 'Foolish Games' is sneaked into the beginning. Still, for some reason, I can't help loving this song.

  • @Serena2009ification Nah it was actually based on an older couple and not a younger one. You have to remember they are going to change some of it so it makes for a good song and story lol.

  • fukin tim -_-

  • Was only 8 when this song came out. Oh how I long for the cartoons and fun I had back then. All this money in the world can't buy me a time machine. :(

  • So 1998!!!!!!!!!! Always reminds me of Real World Seattle and times partying in college!

  • tim ghetto

  • woah this song is awesome

  • I've been seeing this Arrow to the knee bullshit... wtf guys -.-

  • @MegaDalliance Skyrim reference, search "I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee" into YouTube :P

  • i feel like life was good in the 90's, but then again, i was only a kid and i didn't have to face issues

  • The last time I laughed at an arrow in my knee joke, I fell off my dinosaur. Yeah that's right, I Fought skyrim with step brothers

  • I swear to GOD The Sky was Bluer in the 90's

  • @koolinturn My God you are right!!!

  • @koolinturn No doubt. (No pun intended, Gwen).

  • anyone notice how much this song sounds like "Delilah" by Tom Jones?

  • from experience, Don't Wait

  • Love It!!!!!!

  • i seriously wanna kill the first person who mentioned taking an arrow to the knee

  • @ivangrozny27 You'll have to find the voice actor for that NPC in Skyrim, then.

    Good luck to you.

  • Awesome awesome awesome song!!!!

  • I always thought the chorus kinda fucked up this song, didn't really vibe with the feel of the song.

  • great songg i'm indonesian and like it

  • I am an Argentinian Girl and I love this song.

  • :)yeppp
