  • the only reason the tractor is have problem is because that plow is in the dirt balls deep

  • the 8n has the most hp of the 3

  • Double bottom plow might be a little much for an 8N.

  • @brian93ist

I understand what you are saying. In this case though, the ground does not appear to have been recently worked. By the sound, the 8N is clearly struggling in this video.

I should have elaborated more in my previous comment.

  • @twal1011 right this looks like it has never been worked in a field or garden it shouldn't strain the plow might not be set right

  • @brian93ist not to be critical but the plow is definately not adjusted properly. If you watch the right moldboard isn't really turning over any soil. An 8N with a properly adjusted plow should hum along and plow all day long

  • @twal1011 Depends on the soil. 2 bottom is actually the standard for the "N" tractors. I run my 2 bottom behind my 2N all day long and it just rolls along in the rocky ground here in NJ.

  • @twal1011 if you have the plow set up correctly it will work good.

  • Does your Ford have the Sherman Trans? If so, are you in low? I'm considering an 8N, but am concerned with ground speed.

  • @JBDiscrete if you have a manual i'd say in fourth gear which is the highest and you turn your rpm up i'd say about 12-15 mph, not sure

  • @SuperRam3500 i have seen 9mph on highway that is as fast as i would run one though

  • Love to hear the older Fords run.

  • good im happy lol
