wow i guess, that this game hasn´t aged very well =/ there is just so... much... äh... GREEN o.O anyway, maybe it is a great mech game, but it definately is kinda aged =D

sure... and 2D graphics tend to age far better then 3D. people will fell the same way in 10 years when looking back at the games from 2011. but as 3D/FX artist with academic degree I'm generally fascinated with everything 3D, new or old. =P

If you were lucky enough to get your hands on the platinum edition of Mechwarrior 2 on PC or the extended Platinum which included the expansions or the custom build ones that were bundled with graphics cards (the Voodoo one being the best) they came with cockpit, mech and environmental textures, also better weapon effects and explosion animations (slightly less pixelated) however the console versions had smoother environmental layouts. As compared to the DOS and first release Win95 version.

@CmdrFoxDavion There were two other problems with the Platinum edition: the medium pulse laser was a superweapon (for reasons unknown, it got a MASSIVE damage boost), and multiplayer was broken (as in it just didn't work). IT was cool that 'Mechs could fall down, though (from what I heard).

AWW MAN I LOVE THIS GAME.

I have the PC version and an insane amount of custom .meks (most not mine). I usually use the timberwolf and almost always have jump jets and DFA half my enemies. :)

i love this game too, i also own the disk and own mw2merc. i whis i could play it again but i dont know how to install it on xp

@CrazyEnzo03 me too. i own this on the pc and mw2: mercenaries. they kick ass but i can't seem to run it on newer computers

In fact the version of Netmech at mech2.org integrates DOSBOX

I like the fresh coat of paint this game got on the consoles, but the overall game was destroyed since they made it for action which caused it's immersion level to go down. Also there's less mechs.
