We loved the recording! We have spent about 200 quid on 2 songs in the past, and its sounded nowhere near as good as matt's work! he's done a good job :) enjoy the song ;D
Lastly, I'd work on the high and mid toms. They are a bit papery sounding. As for guitars, they are, like I said, very thin. It sounds like it needs a bit more low end. I'd also mess with the mids. Overall, not a bad job though. Keep it up. :)
@xifakex Thanks, i did take out alot of the low end when mastering just because there was A LOT of it building up which i didnt want. Also because its a youtube video it really does ruin the quality =/ I'll give what you said i shot though so thankyou very much for giving your advice and that :). Really appreciated!
@MoreDaley No problem! :) The simple solution is to go in and find the source of the extreme low end and remove it, not take it away in the master eq. That won't fix the issue, only take away from other things that may be fine on low end or whatever it is you may be fixing at the time. And I agree, YouTube doesn't really do justice. Haha
@xifakex :P Thanks for the advice man! I really will take it and work on it :). Its what will help me get to where i want to be. Btw i did eq it out on drums etc but it still sounded there :P
The drums are very thin. And the guitar tone is not beefy at all. The overall mix is very thin. Give instruments a bit more lows besides bass. And consider completely redoing your drum sounds (If your recording with programmed drums or an electric kit). The snare needs more low end. It has a bit too much attack. The cymbals are also washy sounding. I'd also turn up the bass drum a tad in the mix and for a mix like this, I'd EQ that bass drum to really stand out with some punch.
Sweet jesus this band is awesome
