It's partly alcohol light rubbing alcohol, so that's why it's in with the first aid stuff... but I don't know how well it'd work with tinctures..... Any feed back, anyone, on how Witch Hazel (the liquid form) works as a "carrier" or "base" for tinctures?? Hm.

I used Everclear for the tincture. Let it set for two weeks shaking daily. When it was done I wanted to add 1/2 distilled water and the moment the water hit the tincture, it turned a horrible cloudy color. Is there any way to make it clear again? Looks bad, but it's ok. Still looks are half the effort in getting it nice.

Some tinctures are made with materials that would be too gross to handle and are meant for more spiritual purposes, such as frankincense and sandalwood. Medicinal tinctures are usually taken by the dropperful or half-dropperful. You can take them straight if you can handle it, or you can add it to a beverage such as juice or tea. You can strain the tincture if you want to, but it's not wholly necessary.
