  • OMG I love this I played it in symphonic band last trimester and I still play the melody in class when I'm bored xD

  • Our college is playing this peace for our Christmas concert. LOL the community college band sucks though and we're not this good... =/ its sad. (im not taking campus band again...waste of time) lol

  • this sounds really good! we're playing an arrangement of this for our marching band show this year, it sounds extremely awesome with a battery and full front ensemble, hopefully i'll be able to put a video up when we learn the drill for it

  • Is there a Bass Clarinet in this Group? I think I can hear it, but I'm not sure.

  • fantastic first trumpet section, also. Good blend toward the end and good job staying in tune with each other. I'm guessing you guys went up to a C there, so it's not the easiest to stay in tune.

  • what state is this in?

  • This was a pretty good show. But.... The low brass were dirty in most of their parts. Then it felt like that the entire band was just moving with the flow. The wasn't any excitment with the music. Remember this Read the "RED" and the black and white. Feel the music! The song is called JOY.

  • this song is going to be our oprner song for marching band. Im so excited :)

  • very well done!

  • needs more horn

  • @ilike12and4: True, but we only had one.

  • just be aware when u come in at measure 29 not to be flat, the tendency of that note is, i can tell just a little so at least not that bad

  • We played this my freshman year but this is WAYYYY better...I love this song. did you guys play any of the other mvts?

  • Nope just this Mvt... hmm what school did you go to?

  • I GO to Lake Worth

  • How 'bout that euphonium solo that didn't come in late! :P

  • my band plays a different version marching. i love both but this one is so soft.

  • Yea we are doing the Marching version also...

  • Yes. How about that darned baritone part with the body movement. Sounded like a dang goose. Oh well. Cheers Justine!

  • @macperson9 ???

  • at 2:50 when the triangle comes in you can see me and aaron shimick dancing:) lol!! and why is that you forgot my name on the state ppl:( i was one

  • this sounded really good. our band is playing this, it's got some tricky syncopation for the wind parts at times...great job

  • try marching with this. lol. The syncopation was pretty great with lefts and rights.

  • Yea marching to this song wasnt easy...

  • Haha our middle school symphonic band is playing this and it's so fast! I can't imagine marching to it! Hahahaha

  • @YineTime it's like 160-164 bpm, which isn't out of the norm

  • @macperson9 we have a guy custom arranging this for our high school this year along with other songs. Our theme is 'joy' so we are also doing "joy to the world" by three dog night. along with ode to joy by beethoven. There are parts where the other lead and I take it up to a G below double C and are still marching.

  • and chris3916, the trumpet solo's r supposed to be slurred, or at least they r in the version i have. u might be right though, who knows?

  • we r playing this in my high school.....its really fun to play and sounds great!

  • The articulations in the clarinet solo were DEAD ON. Awesome!

  • Why thank you! XD

  • in the trumpet solos that is not supposed to be slurred either

  • this was an ok song excpet prolly that clarinet solo part was the best part......and it is a little to trumpet heavy...and the cresendo at 2:07 didnt get soft enough to loud enough...but good job

  • haha well thanks... lol and do to swine flu and a bunch of other crap, we didnt get to practice this song as much as we needed to...

  • Comment removed

  • or maybe its cause our band cant blend our sounds together worth crap... it has nothing to do with the camera.

  • well, ya... that too.

  • I don't know if it's just the recording, but the whole thing seems kinda trumpet/sax-heavy.

  • I was thinkin the same thing...

  • I like the comment bubbles in the video lol. Good job Joey :)

  • We Did this song at our summer concert and it rocked.

We also played the marching show 3 years ago. I think the marching version sounds way better.

  • we're playing the marching version in our show for '09

  • I like this verson better, but I think are band sucked it up a little at are concert. Its was still good though. :)

  • I like the little annotations... lol

  • lol yea, I was bored...
