Ominous! To say the least. The blood soaked white institutional canvas clothing & the pasty sickly color of his skin contrasted with the fresh blood give it an entire new intensity. Using the white gives him a supernatural/angelic quality that adds more to the evil mystic sensibility of the character. Along with larger nails, the lacerations across his head are less geometric & larger suggesting a more ferociously violent cause that wasn't in the original. But the actor would be the final touch.

As a long time fan of the Hellraiser franchise, I don't mind if this is how the new pin head is gonna look, because other horror icons (looks wise) have changed a lot. But, if the remake comes out, & it's PG13, I won't even give it a chance.
When you reinvent a cult classic horror film you have to be able to keep most of your originality to yourself and reach the fans by just advancing in effects and film techniques. This has pinhead completely mangled to the point where you can't tell it's pinhead unless your told it's pinhead.
If this is the remake they were talking about with Hellraiser they lost a long time fan already. This is truly disappointing.
There is no scare in no gore either. Look at PG-13 so called horror movies that claim to be horror. They are scary at all only to wanna be screaming girls that are actually young boys that can't handle anything yet. PG-13 horror sucks ass.

Visually, it looks great......but if the actor isn't as good as Doug bradley, then despite all the makeup and special effects hollywood can muster, the movie's gonna suck!!
I always liked the way that the slashes and pins had an order and structure with Doug's Pinhead, which also kind of reflects the way that the Hell Pinhead took over in is run (read The Hellbound Heart and the various Hellraiser comics).
This just looks like some johnny has scarred himself up and beat nails into his head cos he's a couple of radishes short of a salad.
It's a lot more bloody and gory, and definitely chilling, but I like the original better. The fact that there were all those pins and (perfectly geometrical) slashes to his face BUT NO BLOOD seemed a lot more creepy and scary. This one does indicate torture and pain, but it's too obvious. It's much better when your mind imagines it instead of having it shown to you.
Wow not only did the insult the original design of pin head, you then insult Stanley Kubrick by using music for Eyes Wide Shut. Please go back to the drawing board, and redo this. The body suites can probably be improved on, but the head was pretty much what it is, I don't think it can be retouched. You could change the color of the lines, tweek the screws, do something to the eyes, but even that is really pushing it, and to boot this just looks stupid.

Halloween: the kid is pure evil, he grew up and wants to kill everybody. Damn fine film. Moving on: NoES: some pedophile freak appears in children's dreams and kills them. Damn fine film.
this is great makeup..for a zombie flick. The entire point of Pinhead and the cenobites was that their mutilations were cosmetic, precise, and surgical, because they were pain experts. I kind of like it and dislike it at the same time. A cenobite is supposed to be a priestly caste of demon, so one would think there would be a contemplative, almost serene aura surrounding Pinhead, which Doug Bradley does extremely well. If they're going to make Pinhead a thing of blood and gore, one would hope they don't make him an animal and keep some of that calm about him.

This Pinhead seems to captivate a man who has been tortured; almost like an escaped slave that finally gets to seek vegance and inflict pain on the ones who have enslaved him and anyone else along the way.
I do not like this design. It was the precision of Pinhead's wounds that made him seem darker, more perverse. These were emphasised by how highly articulate and intelligent he was. You could tell he was the leader - his scars and pins were as precise as he was. This one just looks like a hastily assembled minion.

The original had the black eyes and yes, the cuts to me also seemed more perversely evil... to take the time to be symmetrical and precise....enjoying every minute of pain, now that's scarey! This is amazing. Its not the actor who was to play him but the make up. This reminds me of the book a lot. Its great. And to all you people who rag that its not doug bradley... yeah, he was an amazing pinhead. i mean, fuck, i grew up with that character... but jesus christ... the last like... 6 hellraiser films were shit compared to the original... and if you dare to compare them to the original then stop your fucking argument right there. In the book Pinhead was a MINOR character, a minion, he wasn't even a "HE" she was said to have the voice of an excited girl, the real leader of the cenobites was this big dude with chains all through his body and little bells on his neck that rang quietly when he walked so don't pretend to know what you're talking about because someone will always come along and make you look stupid if you do.

someone ask Clive Barker what he thinks. It wasn't Pinhead's look that ruined most of the last 6 films and made them cheeseball, completely losing the ambiance, creepiness of the first and second. It wasn't Mr. Tunnicliffe's fault. it was crappy producers, actors, directors and writers. 5 & 6 captured some of the original eerie nature, that's about it. and that song was also used in Stanley Kubrick's 'Eyes Wide Shut". great song, but I'd to see Christopher Young come back and score the remake.

I'm starting to think this remake is going to flop due to the new Pinhead design taking away from the whole perversion that is Pinhead. Also, people nowadays have been pretty much desensitized to the whole blood and gore aspect of movies on which the entire Hellraiser series was founded. Personally believe that the series doesn't really need a remake anyways.

Fuck this shit. When will people learn that redesigning and remaking classics should not be done? The Nightmare on Elm street remake was a disgrace and this will be too. You cant beat the original actor icons for these films, no one will ever be Pinhead in my eyes- Doug Bradley MAKES the character. They have got to stop ruining my childhood ffs. I grew up watching these as a kid and it makes me feel sick to know that they are planning to butcher it.

Admittedly, I do understand why so many people dislike this design for Pinhead and I do agree with them. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to how they do the movie itself. Let's just hope they don't botch it up like they did with Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th.

Meh. This doesn't do it for me at all. The thing that makes pinhead scary is that it looks like his flesh has been tortured into some mad 'order' by the geometric grid of pins on his head. In my opinion you can't really redesign him - you can only refine him.

Sad to say, but this is just Hollywood trying to squeeze every last buck out of a story. You can go to Clive Barker's website and read that he is very unhappy with the 'new look' for Pinhead. Hollywood just can't wrap their mind around terror anymore, only horror. I find an intelligent, plotting villains spookier than mute shuffling psychos or wise cracking knife wielders. Why can't they just let it be!?

However, Frank somehow escapes but needs blood and flesh to look human again. He finds help in form of his ex-lover. this is great makeup..for a zombie flick. The entire point of Pinhead and the cenobites was that their mutilations were cosmetic, precise, and surgical, because they were pain experts. Besides the cenobite in the book Hellbound Heart Pinhead was based on had a grid pattern. Oh orignal pinhead just looks so much cooler anyway. "A" for effort tho

I kind of like it and dislike it at the same time. A cenobite is supposed to be a priestly caste of demon, so one would think there would be a contemplative, almost serene aura surrounding Pinhead, which Doug Bradley does extremely well. If they're going to make Pinhead a thing of blood and gore, one would hope they don't make him an animal and keep some of that calm about him.

PLUS : considering the utter crap the last few movies were i don't see how they could fuck up the series anymore than it already is. so im going to give this reboot a chance and if it sucks. SO WHAT !?!? i already have part 1 and 2 on DVD in addition to the books so i dont see any real risk on giving this one the benefit of the doubt

I do not like this design. It was the precision of Pinhead's wounds that made him seem darker, more perverse. These were emphasised by how highly articulate and intelligent he was. You could tell he was the leader - his scars and pins were as precise as he was. This one just looks like a hastily assembled minion.

The original had the black eyes and yes, the cuts to me also seemed more perversely evil... to take the time to be symmetrical and precise....enjoying every minute of pain, now that's scarey! This new one is so cheesy and screams of effort of trying to improve an otherwise perfect demon. I think I'll wait for this one to come on DVD.
