It is obvious that debating the issue with you is pointless because you are an idiot. Do you know what an oxymoron is?  Your vehicle isn't STOCK is it is stage 2, that is an oxymoron. The SS/SC was WEAK and even stage 2 they aren't that fast. 205HP stock is a joke.

Show me a stock SS/SC that runs a high 13 second 1/4 mile, that is what a MS3 is capable of. Don't forget that they handle much better as well.

1. You can't spell, punctuate properly, or even form a sentence.

2. The "stage" options ARE NOT factory, they are DEALER ADDED packages that are installed AT THE DEALER. Therefore it isn't "factory".

3. Handles better? No. The SS/SC certainly does not: Try this on for size from the C&D Lightning Lap Time: 3:20.6 CHEVROLET COBALT SS SUPERCHARGED

@sleeksilver yes it is a dealer option that comes from GM, and its covered under warrenty from GM, because it is a factory option....and car and driver says, "we finally scorched a 5.8-second 0-to-60 time and a 14.4-second quarter-mile at 99 mph....0.87G...(for the MS3 w/263hp)" "(cobalt ss)ripped from 0 to 60 in just 5.9 seconds and through the quarter-mile in only 14.4 at 100 mph...at .88G...(205hp)"(both cars are 2007)...so ya about that...

Dealer option ISN'T FACTORY, yes it is covered under the warrAnty just like Mazdaspeed parts.

The same publication posted a 0-60 time in 5.6 for the MS3, others as low as 5.2. The time you found was the worst for the MS3 but the best for the SS/SC. Cherry picking doesn't help you when you are talking to someone knowledgable. Regardless, care to explain the FOUR PLUS second difference on VIR from the Lightning Lap?

On Car & Driver's website search for "Hot Hatches in the Roaring 20s", it is a comparison test. Do you know what a comparison test even is? That will provide you with the 5.6 0-60 time. Motorweek ran the Mazdaspeed3 0-60 in 5.2, that can be found easily as well.

The Lightning Lap times can be easily found as well. Google: "Sortable Times: Complete Lightning Lap Times"

The SS/TC isn't even made anymore, nor did it ever sell in that high of quantities. Aside from the powertrain and suspension (which isn't the same as your SS/SC), the SS/TC Cobalt is an utter piece of shit vehicle.

We were comparing SS/SC (your car) vs. a MS3, not MS3 vs SS/TC which you don't own. Yes, the SS/TC is faster but it is still a piece of shit, that is why they didn't sell. What did you do to a scirocco to get it down to 1300lbs. They are more like 1900. I owned an 85. I also have a new GTI now and make no mistake a MS3 is faster and so is the SS, but the Cobalt has a crap interior. The MS3 is a good car except for the torque steer. Go APR stg2+ and you should be able to leave them both and actually enjoy being in your car.

Why don't you look up the 1/4 times that a GOOD driver can achieve with a six speed TL-S before you start talking shit. With just an intake and a high flow cat people have cracked into the high 13's. Slow as shit? I think not.

Furthermore, I walked my friends APR stage 1 MK5 GTI in my stock MS3 many, MANY times. Now with a SRI, TIP, and test pipe it isn't even close.

you can hear (and see) at Race MS3 vs GTI @ 35 seconds, that the MS3 started at low rmp boost, and then hear it reach higher revs, then boost kicking in. :) Go MS3 FTW
