  • Gotta looooooove hearing that tune. Especially for the quintillionth time. :-\

  • Excelente video mi buen... yo lo sé dibujar igual en 3D pero en AutoCAD !!...

  • ahh good ole SW 2007....I miss those days before the ribbon user interface...

  • Hey I am struggling to create the tip of a screwdriver...could you help? Thanks

  • @ThatDrumBoy Yes, I can

  • @Langgengjaya What tool on solidworks is best to use? cheers

  • what is the name of software which are you use in this videos

  • @shah123748 SolidWorks

  • someone , can you help me ? i have to make project in solidwork ! pls help me

  • @1hilary13 Sure, send me a message

  • How is called this song ?

  • @polaktobis is called Youtube Anthem... is every damn video! lol

  • Cool video. Thanks! I don't understand why people don't like this music. It's so relaxing and beautiful.

  • can you upload some vdos of fluid simulation in solidworks, like flow analysis of fluids coming out from a nozzle, thanks

  • There is an iPad app that lets you view solidworks models. Runs really fast and has measurements and solid cut planes. It's called iCAD Professional and it has a free demo version, iCAD Free.

  • Gratz thanks a lot!!! Very helpful!!!

  • Many years ago I did use 3d studio of autodesk, stll wonderful and easier. Solid work look's easy, but to many tricks. I spend 2 year with solid words, and still not happening. Is not easy.

  • hi everyone .. tell me plz how can i download SolidWorks 2011 for win32 ?

  • @Mastermind2011 can't you just draw a sphere? XD

  • Thanks ! , is very usefull, the pdf files, i would like to make a ball bearing, but there is no pdf file :(

  • I hate it when it goes 'over defined'...

  • thank you very much, i really didn't know how to make it.

  • 0:03 mute

  • Wow You can work without opening sketch thats really cool !! I wll try work in 3D too I luv it

  • Nice video for learning. But a trick I have learned over the years from using SolidWorks is totally avoid using threads, unless it absolutely requires it for a photo finish display or something. A patterened cut often suffices for rough display where high detail isn't critical. Reasoning is due to memory for constant calculations of threads. True, newer systems have a lot of memory to spare, but the bigger your project gets, it eventually all slowly adds up.

  • @plord28 Isn't there some way to asign some sort of thread stats value to a part that it could be recalled in a pinch with a preprogramed command from an embedded file should it be needed?

  • @salinagrrrl69

I've kindda been looking for a solution along those lines as well. But haven't really found anything. Having a configuration file is probably the closest solution. Have the part configured for both a supressed state and an unsupressed. Then in your assembly file have a multiple configuration option set as well. Keeping in mind that you have rebuild errors if everything isn't set just "perfectly". Most often caused by bad mating with the parts. A real bitch, but do'able.

  • Having trouble with the cut sweep it says "Rebuild Errors Sweep operation faild to complete" any help?

  • Great Video! I'm new to solid works and this was a huge help.

  • @watchdawg No its harder.

  • Is this software easier to learn than Autodesk inventor?

  • Where is the pdf, I cant find it on the site.

  • @SmithLord117 pls give your e-mail!

  • @SmithLord117 Song from AudioSwap of OneTrackRecording. Choose Artist of 009 Sound System

  • Very useful, thanks! only one question: which mesure do you use to generate the triangle for the sweep? the same you used for the spiral?

  • I got a question: did you learn solidworks through practice in a class that involved it, just by spending time using it due to your own interest or did you take a specific course to learn it?

  • @donovanbailey96

No, I learn SolidWorks moment where I work requires to use it. Where previously I could only draw using Mehanical Desktop. Little fellow taught by labor and the rest is self-taught

  • seems alot more easy then in md

  • Why don't you just get an bolt from the toolbox?

  • what's the music please :D

  • @djhesit8 009 Sound System - Space And Time

  • thank you.

  • Nice use of features to draw the bolt.

  • Interesting, you have a great grasp of how to use this complex editor! Thumbs up!

  • good solution.

    see my project 4 valve

    connecting rod

  • Do you have to enter the exact coordinates(x,y) to constrain the triangle to the helix curve? Isn't there a simple pierce constrain that you can apply?

  • d song is cool!!!!what is it??

  • @elless27 really!! even i loved it..... Trance 009 sound system Space and Time....google it....

  • is that metric or inch spiral?

  • yeah you don't need to do this except you want to. Solidworks 2009 premium has a tools box in the design library. You can find almost all kind of hardware like bolts, nuts, washers, screws, bearings, pins....

  • is there a way to animate it so that the nut screw onto the bolt? i am using solidworks 2010 and i can make the collapse animated but i cannot make it so the nut screws onto the bolt. right now it just slides on when i animate it.

  • how you know the exact coordinate for x and y on the polygon of 3 side

  • @carlug03 I am wanting to know the same thing... I do not see how he got the 3 sided poly to the precise end of the helix, I am stuck at this part lol

  • @playerstack nevermind I got it by creating a plane perpendicular to the point with a secondary reference of the helix

  • Nice that u uploadet it with 720p, otherwise you wouldn't be able to read the text

  • You need an extruded cut at the top of the threads to simulate the threading tool leaving the surface. The way you've done it the thread comes to an abrupt end.

  • @CaptC4t

Indeed, didn't think of that myself so *thumbs up*

  • Just Brilliant!

  • Dang man! That's awesome!

  • Song name?:)

  • Why bother drawing it? Simply use the standard engineering library. But good to see anyhow.

  • @ss770640 I know that by making this bolt using the techniques shown in this video I have used those skills to make other things, things not in the standard engineering library.

  • its very nice program.. i must work on it in school i like it very much

    greetz from holland

  • Thanks.. ;)

  • Thank you so much for posting this tutorial, it really helped!

  • @Langgengjaya Be carefull of putting your e-mail in youtube comments, that's how spammers get them. It's safer to send private messages.

    Thanks for the tutorial!

  • @Md2802 Thanks for your remain

  • Very easy to work with we use it on school to make camshafts.

I also buyed it for mine pc really worth it.

  • Hi, Great !!! Please write your email, we have a project in CAD 3D, are you interested?

    nice day...

  • Whatever you do, DO NOT draw a bolt like this!

    1. The sketches aren't fully defined!

    2. A simpler approach would be to create it with 1 revolve, 1 cut-extrude and cosmetic thread. Thread runout is obviously not a concern when the thread profile isn't even right!

  • what version do you have because I have 2010 version and it looks WAY different.

  • @mscooman SW2007 version

  • @mscooman u wont need to do this in the 2010 version t is already inside the library (toolbos)

  • thanx for this amazing tuorial

i m not an engeniaring student ,but i like it can i learn it from basic

and where it will help me

    plz answer

  • @amitgaur0008

    thanks well come

  • @amitgaur0008 thanks wellcome

  • Awesome! I'm gonna try it..

  • @wdrpsp19 Hey, once I've finished, how can I save it such that I can use it in some other project? Instead of keeping on repeating this??? Plz tell me.

  • If you want more SolidWorks tutorials you should check out

    freeSolidWorkstutorials

  • That's amazing! I think I have a new appreciation for bolts! :D

  • I personally don't like it when turned parts are made in this fashion rather than using a revolved sketch for the base material. It is more difficult to manage all the feature dimensions for use in a design table should you want to make various configurations of the same general geometry.

  • You are really an expert !!!

  • i can't know...

  • sorry, but this representation is not correct ...! It is not very crittical, but at the top side of the thread, just under the head of the bolt, the exit of the thread should be variable, you are not showing this; the thread hast to come out towards the surface of the shank of the bolt gradually ...!

At 2:57 you can see how the helix finishes bluntly !

  • Thanks brew, this helped me out. :)

  • Where the dimensions?

  • Toolbox!

  • maybe somebody know library there from you could downlad this kind of stuff

  • Or you could go to mcmasterDOTcom and down load a solid works model of the bolt you need and save time and money. If they size isn't there modify the drawing

  • SIIIIIIIIIIICK

  • pls can you tell me how i know what values to set for the pitch and the x and y coordinates of the triangle because whenever i try to do something similar using a different cutting profile, the swept cut never works for me although i follow the exact same steps.

  • great help

  • Super fast..i had to pose it like 100 times..but still helpful..5 stars !

  • amazing, i learned alot from this tutorial..great =) thanks

  • 5* though thanks lol

  • pretty waste of time cuz it's already ready in tools

  • where exactly?

  • Exactly shat?

  • exactly what?

  • Helpfull! ;)

  • its preferable to make a relation of coincidence betwen the center of the triangle and the beginning of the elipse. rather than defining the center of the triangle.

  • @divine604 please can you explain further

  • Thanks a lot for the tutorial....Was really helpful...

  • Hi, I'm just stuck on how you tapered the screw part of the model? Any step by step info please?

  • fdp

  • Comment removed

  • hello.

Do you think you could provide a step by step guide as to how we can do this?

  • esta chido, pero o le agregas calidad al video o le pones comentarios o lo narras para que quede estupendo

  • Makes me feel an inch smarter when I see I can do this on my own, with your help!

  • Thank you very much, you are more helpful then the retarded "help" program. Shit, I'm so tiered, why can't things be more DIRECT? Sometimes I just want to come to the fucking conclusion, just tell me the way things are. But thanks buddy or lilly... very helpful indeed.

  • shit quality, im tryin to do the sprial texture thing on the long piece but i cant see in this video, have u done this photo shot of a step by step guide!!

Sorry 4 callin it shit quality but it had to be sed!! ok dude! cheers

  • is solidworks more similar to Inventor or Catia?

  • To be honest, it is similar to Catia BUT and this BUT is really big:), Solidworks is much more friendly than Catia. It also moves faster on ordinary computers. My choice: Solidworks

  • Thanks for de video.... :)

  • Sorry on this discomfort because available facilities to me were still limited. And to overcome this, please you visited on my blog. I provided the tutorial in PDF format and could you download free. Thanks for your response.

  • Thanks for the help. That will do nicely!

  • Argh! Why cant you just add some voice. Its so damn hard follow you when I dont see the small symbols you got on your solidworks.

I cant see the numbers you are inserting and I am stuck at 2.20 - 2.35. The grid appear right on your bolt, mine are not. I bet you did it on your keyboard.

  • Sound. You're doing it wrong.
