@TheHappinessmusic Awesome! Although he didn't come up with as many moves in this video as the Shake Your Tail Feather, he looks really cuddly and cute!
@dannojmanno He's such a ham, I'll tell you. He has more moves that I haven't captured that he'll do while flapping his wings like bending down then doing this weird twist with his head then leaning it way back, all while flapping! It's hilarious!
There was a bare eyed cockatoo where I worked for the summer (pet store). His name was Maynard and everytime I came close he crawled along the cage till he got to me so I could scratch his head and neck! So cute and I never knew birds could like scratches like cats and dogs!
@Elvishswimmer Frostie likes me to scratch under his wings. He'll sit on my shoulder when I'm on the computer and spread his wing out until it covers my eyes so I can't see what I'm doing! He likes to put his face up against mine and makes this little sound that is so sweet. He will also put his beak on my lips when I ask him for a kiss. Thanks for sharing!
@BUDGETFREE Birds in particular enjoy music - something that I didn't realize until I met Frostie, although I remember our canary singing like crazy when my mom would turn on the kitchen faucet. Clearly they react to sounds. Most parrots just nod their heads but cockatoos and corellas get down and boogie!
@riverdevan Thank you! Although he doesn't have as many moves in this video as his famous Shake Your Tail Feather video, I think he's adorable in this one too!
@illuminatedrose He's sitting on my shoulder right now! Have you seen his Shake Your Tail Feather video? That's his best. It's the main video on my channel.
I saw that you were local on the comment/description on this page... where it says video by and then Magalia-Paradise Ca... I had to log on and see the whole video after seeing the clip on HLN. I of course sent the link to my mom... She will get a kick out of it:) Her African Grey says over 300 words and full sentences. She is a funny bird:) Thanks again for sharing!
@lkc899chico I am so sorry! I thought I had replied your comment! This isn't the video that HLN aired, it's the main video on my channel - the Shake Your Tail Feather one.
Awesome you live so close! I've only received a couple comments from locals which is pretty surprising since these videos have been up for over a year. I guess a lot of people don't have YouTube accounts!
Too cute... I saw the shake your tail feathers video on HLN this morning and when I went to watch the video, I couldn't believe that you and this wonderful bird are local. I live in Orland, but my mom lives in Magalia... She has an African Grey Parrot , so I know what a ham birds can be... Love the videos.. they are great:)
Oh wow! Since I've had my YouTube channel for over a year, there have been only a couple local people who have left comments! That's cool! How did you find out we were local? From reading my profile or did they give that information? I've heard only that the lady said twice, "Keep watching! Here comes the funny part!" I don't have a TV so I missed it! Darn!
@zedadajh Thank you for commenting. Your Facebook account got deleted? You should be able to file an appeal. They will send you a letter. They did that to me once because I was sending too many messages to people I wasn't friends with!

Such a beautiful and happy Birdy, you can see he is very well loved! Thanks for sharing this joy with us. Do you think Frostie would do the Monster Mash for Halloween?
@TheInsolentBastard Frostie will dance to any song it's just a matter of me making the videos. That's a good idea. Try to remind me in a message during September!
@Smileydpjh Birds are fun but they don't all dance! Cockatoos are the best dancers by far but they are expensive and can be VERY loud. Frostie is very quite, thank goodness!
@Smileydpjh If you've never had a bird, a cockatiel would be a good bird to start off with. They are very sweet. Females are better to have because they don't whistle all the time like the males do.
Hey. I live in Australia (native home to 'short bill corellas' and watched your video with my Bernard on my shoulder. Bernard loved it and so did I - BUT - I want to stress that my bird was an escaped pet and could not fend for himself in the wild so I kept him at home. PLEASE don't buy these birds from breeders - they need to live in the wild. If you have one, love it and let it be as free as you possibly can, which I do in my house. Remember, they live to between 80 and 100 years old....
@maradaca Frostie will be 21 years old in March. He was owned by a couple for 18 years who treated him as a family member and took him everywhere, including on camping trips.
When the wife developed a life threatening allergy to his dander which landed her in the hospital, her doctor said she had to get rid of Frostie.
The couple placed Frostie with a friend of mine to babysit and find a new home for. This is how I ended up with him. I made all the dance videos while playing with him there.
Frostie remained with my friend for two years. My friend asked me to take some photos of a few of his bird and upload them to a web site where I found a picture of Frostie and learned he was for sale. I began crying and told him to remove the photo, that I would buy him. (I only knew Frostie was being babysat, not that the couple wanted my friend to find a buyer for him.)
We had been searching for the right bird breed for our family. I'd never heard of a bare-eyed until I saw ur video and researched the species and found this was the bird 4 us. Thanks for leaving a comment on our video with our 6 month old Roxie. She is awesome and we are very pleased with our choice. She already loves dancing. These are the coolest birds! Peace!
It filled me with so much emotion to realize you chose Roxie for your family because of Frostie's videos. I too had never heard of or seen a Bare Eyed Cockatoo until I visited Birds of Paradise where Frostie was being babysat. My first reaction was, "What an ugly bird!" I soon became very attached to Frostie.
Frostie is usually very quiet and rarely screeches. I have discovered he is TERRIFIED of flying insects! You'd think he was being murdered by the ear piercing alarm call he lets out!
Isn't he a nut! I couldn't believe his new move there ........ That scouping thing! I really cracked up that day! I was like, "What is he doing now! Ahahahaha!" No, you can't have him, sorry! Lol!
No I haven't. But, I have an organ that has about 40 different drum beats that are activated by simply touching a finger to a key and the tempo can be sped up or slowed down. It's pretty funny messing with him! He likes the drums so I'm sure he'd dance to a song from "Stomp".
Lol! I like this one. I wish I'd been that close when I recorded the other video. I want to go to the craft store and by some little hats with elastic to see if he'll tolerate wearing a hat or a little bow tie! Lol! In fact, I should go do that today.
Blue Crown Conures can be really loud. I simply reach for the squirt bottle and he makes a little shrill squeel and shuts up. If I don't have it handy, and I march over to his cage, he'll say, "What!!!!???", in that little smartie pants voice! It cracks me up. And, anytime someone, even a bird, drops something, he says, "Ut oh!" I love it.
Who knows where they pick up these things? I work with someone whose neighbor had a bird that wolf-whistled every time a young girl walked by. Neither the girl nor her mother was convinced that it was a bird, not a certain man, until they saw the bird while he was whistling (and the man was doing nothing!)
Wow! Was Avis cussing during his bath? What a character and a cutie! I loved the Dancing with Spoons and Gracie eats peanut butter clips, too. My dogs love peanut butter but cannot hold a spoon.
No, he was saying, "Take a bath", "Did you take a bath", and "Go take a bath".
But if anyone raises their voice around him he hollars, "What a bitch! What a bitch! What a bitch you are!" I did NOT teach him that. He came with that already instilled in his little bird brain!
My neighbor has an African Grey, Billie. Billie has taught herself to yip like one of my dogs, bark like the one across the street, meow like my neighbor's cats, and sneeze like my neighbor does. Incredible mimicry! Did Frostie ever see you or your husband dance?
Frostie is 20 years old and I've only owned him since March 9, 2009. I don't know what he saw in those 20 years! Lol! Congo Grays are really good mimickers. They are a lot of fun but they sure can't dance like Frostie does!
To answer your question, he started doing all this stuff on his own! Lol! He has more moves than on the videos. I don't know where he comes up with all of them! Lol!
Another great performance! This song came out when I was--ahem!--young. Does Frostie "talk" a little while he is dancing, or is that your other birds commenting?
Thank you! This one really cracked me up because I'd never seen him do that scooping move before! I was like, "What is he doing now! Ahahahahahaha!" I call it The Scoop or The Noodle.
You are very right! Lol! I'd never seen him do The Scoop before and I was laughing so hard! I was like, "Wow! What is doing? Ahahahaha! Look at that! Unbelievable!" It just killed me! Lololol!
Watch The Butterfly Song dance! That one is funny too! He acts like a wiggly worm and a crocodile just like the lyrics are saying! Lol! They say parrots are as smart as a four year old child.......... I think he's at least as smart as a fifth grader!
I absolutely adore Frostie ! We have 5 parrots and although none of them are quite the dancer Frostie is, they're always working on their moves, our Mollucan comes closest, although we're not sure if you could really call what she does "dancing". She definitey gets an A for effort though! Thanks for posting your videos, anytime I need a lift, I watch your baby! Love to Frostie !
Thank you. What a sweet comment! It's people like you who make me smile from knowing Frostie is bringing joy to people the world over.
Cockatoos are hilarious dancers and I've noticed each species has it's own routine! Lol! One can have quite a good laugh searching YouTube for dancing cockatoos!

Wow! Was Avis cussing during his bath? What a character and a cutie! I loved the Dancing with Spoons and Gracie eats peanut butter clips, too. My dogs love peanut butter but cannot hold a spoon.
TheDesi56 2 years ago
No, he was saying, "Take a bath", "Did you take a bath", and "Go take a bath".
But if anyone raises their voice around him he hollars, "What a bitch! What a bitch! What a bitch you are!" I did NOT teach him that. He came with that already instilled in his little bird brain!

Watch "Laughter Is Contageous" and "Avis Smarts Off To His Mama".

My neighbor has an African Grey, Billie. Billie has taught herself to yip like one of my dogs, bark like the one across the street, meow like my neighbor's cats, and sneeze like my neighbor does. Incredible mimicry! Did Frostie ever see you or your husband dance?
TheDesi56 2 years ago
Frostie is 20 years old and I've only owned him since March 9, 2009. I don't know what he saw in those 20 years! Lol! Congo Grays are really good mimickers. They are a lot of fun but they sure can't dance like Frostie does!
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
To answer your question, he started doing all this stuff on his own! Lol! He has more moves than on the videos. I don't know where he comes up with all of them! Lol!
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
Animals enrich our lives in so many ways. You have been spreading joy by sharing Frostie's "moves" with the world. Many thanks!

You're right and very welcome! It's my pleasure for certain.
Avis is a little character and so is Corkie. You should watch a few of their videos too. Avis's are really short and funny.

Another great performance! This song came out when I was--ahem!--young. Does Frostie "talk" a little while he is dancing, or is that your other birds commenting?
TheDesi56 2 years ago
I shot that video at Birds of Paradise before I bought him. That's a bunch of conures squawking in the background. They are noisy!
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
Frostie does say, "Hi", and "Huh", through this video. I'm not sure how many times but I know for sure right at the beginning of it he does.

What kind of bird is Frostie again? I'm sorry. xD
Your bird is absolutely adorable!

Thank you! This one really cracked me up because I'd never seen him do that scooping move before! I was like, "What is he doing now! Ahahahahahaha!" I call it The Scoop or The Noodle.
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
It's like he's inventing dance moves :)
Arwen2006 2 years ago
You are very right! Lol! I'd never seen him do The Scoop before and I was laughing so hard! I was like, "Wow! What is doing? Ahahahaha! Look at that! Unbelievable!" It just killed me! Lololol!
Watch The Butterfly Song dance! That one is funny too! He acts like a wiggly worm and a crocodile just like the lyrics are saying! Lol! They say parrots are as smart as a four year old child.......... I think he's at least as smart as a fifth grader!
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
Does he do this every time you put the music on!?
mabgamer6407 2 years ago
He dances usually whenever there is music on unless he's sleepy or preening himself.
