  • I love you blondegraemey, you made me aware of the Baldwin Buzzard<--coolness. Who is someone you consider the most knowledgable vintage/modern pedal guru ?

  • @MrRcheek ...also what is another pedal that is fuzz yet is good with tracking pinched harmonics ? I LOVE YOU , lol : )>

  • fuuuuuuuuuck yesssssssssssssss

  • It sounds like the very last thing you would hear if you were inside a running microwave oven...

  • Its from Mars!

  • How can u not use drugz n listen 2 that thing

  • you are blonde

  • more DRUGS please !!!! Will

  • The UCO knob really makes things crazy

  • F that ad at the start. Christy is doing everything that he can to clean N.J. up the best he can. Cool pedal.

  • Is it analog or digital?

  • It's analog. G

  • In my professional opinion, I believe that this device runs on pure LSD.

  • has an ad, didn't watch

  • picked one up today for $200.

  • @mmolteratx Lucky as hell, these can fetch £500 plus in the UK, that's around $800 at todays conversion rates!

  • @davedagreat69 Yup. I sold it for $950 after messing around with it for a while. Kind of miss it though. It wasn't really practical for me but it was a ton of fun for sure.

  • Man, thanks for all the posts. These videos are always appreciated.

  • sounds like a fucking parrot getting raped.

    i want one

  • Sunn O))) use this pedal.

  • This is thing is 800 bucks?!? Hell i should start makin em for 500!! Id make a 420 dollar profit!!

  • you should have turned the blend down and it would have sounded awesome

  • *beautiful clean guitar sound*....*hits button* .....BRAAAAAAHHHHH

    (I love it)

  • Fuck me! This is amazing! Shame it costs 800 quid. I want one one so bad. Anyone know where I can get hold of the circuit diagram for this monstrosity?

  • what the hell is the point of making random noises

  • I would really like to see this applied in a more musical context before I spend 600+ on it... all of these videos are just people twisting knobs making weird noises with no concept behind it. Anybody know of some songs that feature this pedal being used effectively and not just noodling around?

  • @eaglenature PARANOID!!! (the solo, at least)

  • Amazing pedal! It's capable of making a virtuoso sound like an inept moron.

  • Parece mentira como un aparatito tan guapo lo puede destrozar un indocumentado

  • i can make a lot of these sounds with the moogerphooger phaser. the thing i like about the moogerfooger tho is that it gets a lot of that bassy moog tone and the pedal is easier to use (err, remember settings).

  • with a ms 10 you do the same?

  • i cant understand this pedal without drugs!

  • really intreesting pedal

  • that thing is just way 2 over the top I dont know any 1 who would use that live eva

  • blaah, in the end; quite useless effect. I used this effect on my song 'the great wheel'. but it was zoom g2.1u. check it out

  • DO WANT!!!

  • thats fucking straaaaaaaaaaaaaange

  • wtf ????????

  • What's the song at the biggining?

  • It's my old band. The whole song is used as backing music on the video of photos of my pedal collection. Check my other videos to find it. G

  • ohh man what the fuck

  • whats the song at the beggining?

  • Dude cool pedal, is this an old pedal? still for sale somewhere?

  • Discontinued now. Lovetone are not around as a company anymore. G

  • @blondegraemey Man! That sucks, but whatever guess I'll have to check out a moog.

  • @aetmusic Uranus....sorry that was too easy to let go... Ha!!

  • super cool

  • 2:45 - 2:53 is AWESOME! The perfect dirty 60's groove..

  • great pedal an everything but how the hell can you realistically use it within music. some cool sounds, most of them sound like an absolute racket though

  • @Seagerash

check out the band Autolux, album Future Perfect.

They use noise in an amazingly musical way.

It's not for everyone, but in the context of a great song, noise can sometimes be useful in conveying emotions. Just my opinion.

  • @baTonkaTruck One of the best bands around

  • Fuck that say yes to drugs AND use this thing

  • what do you call that thing the light sensitive plug in? i want to buy one online.

  • I don't think it has a name, it's just a light dependent resistor soldered into a jack plug. You could make one. G

  • Yeah I'd love to pick up one of these too. If anyone knows that would be great.

  • @sinverb It's a photocell.

  • Where on earth can you get this?

  • Only on the used market now, sadly. Best head off to ebay. G

  • The inevitable question - how well does it work for bass?

  • Now there's an idea... Iv'e never tried this with a bass but Im sure it would produce some great sounds. G

  • wow, that could pretty much make any guitar noise, it's like if a Moog synthesizer were a guitar...

  • This thing is awesome if you're into dark psy trance.

  • I agree completely in principle with the previous comment - these things are best used towards the creation of music

( except if you're a noisemaker and then good luck to you ).

But there is a big difference between a pedal demonstration which shows the range of sounds possible and someone making a music video.

I really do find blondegraemey's videos high quality - informative, to the point and clear.

Fuzz pedals had 'no musical value' once - until people started being creative with them....

  • This pedal makes my brain hurt...in a good way.

  • これさえあれば遊びたい放題できるじゃないか

  • Why on earth would anyone want one of these? They have no musical value; not even for Radiohead.

  • Listen to wayne crantz and tell me again that ring modulators have no musical value.

  • Never mind this pedal is crap. Ring modulators aren't usually this bad.

  • because radiohead are the limit when it comes to out-there music...

  • durrrrr. Radiohead are pop music in the scheme of things!

  • Way-Aye man.

  • The MF-102 sounds so much better in my opinion.

  • say no to drugs...just mari-j

  • say know to drugs

  • А он вообще гитару использует? Или это всё из шума на входном анале выползает?

  • yea mars volta actually uses it in many of there songs like the intro to eriatarka

  • i thought omar used a moogerfooger ring modulator

  • thats a crazy effect they would be good to use for a big finish at a gig or a intro to a song

  • I thought my Danelectro Sitar Swami was crazy but that thing is outrageous!

I just saw one of these on Ebay selling on 9-29-09 and came here to check it out.

    Off the hook!

  • This is fucking awesome. I would definately buy this.

  • omg now i MUST have this pedal !!! , its so amazing full of many stuff !!!

this is a master piece indeed

  • What's the cheapest ring mod?

  • $400 is the cheapest

  • 0_0 is the $400 pedal an analog version too?

  • no im just kidding. The moog ring mod, which I perfer over this one because it has more control voltage ins/outs is only like 279 I think. Used for $250 or less. There's other ones like the co-pilot FX one but I think that ones about as costly as the moog, with far less features. Can't go wrong with moog. Those ones I mentioned are analog.

  • Actually, the cheapest is $160, probably could get it for $120 used.

  • Does this pedal also work with bass?

  • yes it would... what a thought! G

  • Can you still buy these anywhere?

I notice Lovetone are in the process of building a website

  • They have not been in production for a few years now. I have no idea if Lovetone are coming back??

  • Listen to the song "Conjugal Burns" by The Mars Volta; the bass line in the beginning portion has a slowly rising and falling ring modulator sound to it; it's crazy.

  • where can u find this i can't find it anywhere):

  • This one is not in production any more! You could try ebay? G

  • Was hoping for more from this demo. Banging on strings and twisting knobs does not show what this pedal can do. Have you used it in any musical sense? I am not at all opposed to noise guitar and can almost imagine what could be done with it. But please, let's hear something in the context of an actual song. That would be a great demo.

  • you can, you have to get good at tweaking the dials,

and what he's doing seems to be too drastic of an effect.

if you subtly change the dials or the frequency, you get some really sweet tones, trust me.

  • well when you find us a song you buy this and play it. if you can afford to comment, you might want to be able to afford to back it up. simple logic my friend.

  • Ever tried using your imagination? You can't possibly think one could even get the gist of such a complex effect with just one tune do you?

  • fuken crazy cool gear

  • dude, i was just waiting until the moment when you start picking up alien frequencies with that thing.

    Great demo!

  • Great for studio

  • that thing is insane!

  • Jesus. I use the Moogerfooger Ring Mod and that thing is pretty wild. This is like that, but on crack! crazy

  • Moogerfooger has a CV input for the oscillator but this has jacks for CV control of everything it seems.

    The jacks are:

    In

    VCO Out

    Carrier in (external oscillator)

    VCO/CV In/Pedal

    LFO Depth Pedal

    Out

  • Great demo, thanks much. This one's not for everyone I guess. When my amp makes those noises, I take it to my tech for servicing. On the "useable" settings, I have other pedals that get those sounds.

  • I have the MoogerFooger and it's much simpler and it looks much easier to use. You can input your own carrier oscillator and output the on board one as well and you can even expand it with expression pedals to control everything. Bought it off ebay for $230.

  • awesome pedal, witch compagny do a clone of this pedal?

  • I've never seen a clone of this one. G

  • Some penis juicer has one on ebay for $1,200 right now.

If it was priced at $500 THEN I might consider dreaming about buying one.

  • Does the octave fuzz mode disable the LFO and VCO?

  • No, they still effect the sound. G

  • Geez, I would have no idea how to work this without a manual.

If you know of any online manuals or guides, can you please direct me to them?

  • con esto no hay que drogarse,sí señor

  • "Say No To Drugs! "

Too late!I didn't see this warning and I smoked a lot of weed watching this!hehe

  • @Viniciustlc weed is good

  • nice one, I'm really into ring modulators and, based on your demo, this is one of the best I've heard, its a shame they don't produce it anymore

cheers bro thxs for the post

  • Its like the Sound Gizmo on steroids!

  • sorry but this pedal sound like r2d2 is taking a shit

  • this would be much easier to control live if you have an expression pedal to do the swell instead of your fingers tweaking... cool stompbox nonetheless... i also have a ring mod on my boss GT-3... big fan of sick, disgusting, weird, spacey sounds... btw, that light sensitive plugin kicks ass!...

  • Actually, a volume pedal can be used as an expression pedal if plugged into the LDR socket. G

  • this is a sick pedal i got the idea of using it from noel gallagher at the end of i am the walrus he uses this effect

  • where could i buy the little jack plug thing from with the light resister thingy????

  • I don't think you could buy one now as Lovetone no longer exist. Very easy to build your own with a jack plug and a light dependent resistor. Try a 500k one. G

  • dude wtf? :O

  • Think i'm going to use this in my country western band.

  • Good call! Sounds great on pedal steel!

  • how do you get rid of the buzzing sound?

  • Think it's just with the camera being close to the amp.

  • theres one on ebay...nearly 300 quid..fuuuck

  • sounds like a bad curry

  • the ring stinger!! hahaha....

  • very drugged

  • at around 5:35, i'm sure thats the same effect Jack White uses in the song Icky Thump.

This pedal is amazing, but alas, expensive.

  • extreme octave fuzzes will give you kind of a ring modulated sound. i THINK that whereas ring modulators are capable adding and subtracting frequencies, an octave fuzz will just end up adding them. with an octave fuzz, try holding two notes and bending one of them, it's kind of ring modulate-y

  • how much does it cost???

  • Dunno? I think you'll be lucky to find one under £250. Not too many made of this one. G

  • wow...that's an awesome pedal

  • I made one of this and indeed a fun, cool, crazy, insane pedal!!!check it out..

  • wow you made that crazy ring stinger thing? how do you go about starting to do that. like what equipment do you need and where did you get the schematics?

  • 800

  • really? :-O

  • shit is awesome, i need one, where can u get these?

  • Can't get these new anymore Im sorry to say! Best try to find one on Ebay.

  • aww man, well thanks anyway, u wouldnt happen to have one would u? lol

  • Sorry man! You could check out an EH Frequency Analyzer. Some good videos on youtube. They are a good ring mod but not quite as way out as this one!

  • You could build one, if you had the skills, because there is a perfectly detailed project on wikipedia with schematics and layouts.

  • You could also walk on water... if you were Jesus of course, because it's pretty simple if you are.

The EH Frequency Analyzer is a more simple version, only $150, less crazy, but the sound is still good.

  • I did the exact same thing as Runned-bought it and the ? Flanger for $45o each and sold them both a few months later-my butt and legs are still sore from kicking myself so hard for so long!! Then when I saw this and it started all over...wish I could find one for that cost now!

  • fn useless pos

  • fn awesome i say!

  • too far out for me... maybe for some crazy solos.

it just doesn't really sound like a guitar. the octave fuzz tho is sick.

  • how much did you pay for this, mate?

I'm about to get one in mint condition w/ box and all for $850. What do you think???

    I'm psyched to try it.

Love my meatball and cheese source.

  • I bought this new for about 300 quid 8 or 9 years ago. Vlad at Lovetone used to mail his regular customers when a new box was due for a launch and I got a very early one. Hope you like yours! G

  • I bought this pedal and the ? flanger about 7 years ago. I payed $450 US. And I kept it for about 2 weeks before selling it on ebay for what I payed for it.

I just couldnt get any use out of it. I have no doubt its useful, but I could justify the price I payed for it. Maybe you will. Still use to this day the lovetone flanger though, and would love to trade my bigmuff for a a big cheese one day.

Just remember the ring mod is pretty out there, good luck

  • the moog synts meet guitars

  • Mental !

  • At last I found Lovetone videos in youtube.

    Thanks a lot, guys!

  • oh my god! sounds like the end of the world!

  • You have to use this on Tomorrow Never Knows!! Crazy!! D

    Found it by the way!

  • "its the craziest thing you've ever heard" ha ha mint

  • you cant have ever used that live?? its off its tits. love the LDR, great idea.
