i.c.o Megane: if you are a little bit over the wheel then why not set it properly? Driving Vauxhall/Opel Astra is like you were driving on rubber gum - there is absolutely no feedback from the wheels. Driving a Megane is very easy and comfortable.

I like the astra vxr but it does need some mods on the old suspension.

I did have an astra GSI mk4 and it was terrible on the corners. Renault are track focused but the reliability can suck ass at times.

LOL, I was thinking the same. Opels look over-designed to me, too much spoilers. And the problem is, is that they ARE noway near as sportive as they look. They are designed for 40+ aged dads, the most unsportive of all germans brands, same level as Volvo or Mercedes, when it comes to sportiveness. At least Mercedes has decent engines and RWD, but they spoil all with heavy cars and automatic gearboxes.

Well I have owned a 225 for 4 years and it has never broke down but to be fair it's expensive to run. I have had to change harmonic balancer, engine mounts, all brake rotors, 1 injector, timing belt etc Good fun though, I have taken on GTI's/VRX's/R32's and an Evo 9 and beaten them all in a drag with no mods. Could be they couldn't drive or I am insane but bang for buck the 225 is a good and fun car to drive. VW GTI with DSG is the benchmark hatch what a testiment to German engineering that is.
