  • Happy Birthday, Big Man. He would have been 70 today. I suppose someone had to be the first of the band to die, and he was the oldest... but it's still a loss.

  • I saw E-street band once, clarence had that ability to get in to ones mind..just listen...wow..powerful stuff!

  • From day one, when I heard Clarence play on Bruce's first record,my skin had goosebumps..how much soul and passion can one man put into playing the sax..I can't wait to hear your son Mr. Bill Clemmons. The world needs him.

  • you'll never be forgotten, lemon man.

  • Who ever had to be the only no life cock sucking bastard to dislike this video please jump off the fucking tallest god damn skyscraper shoot yourself on the way down and reincarnate in to a piece of shit that you are.

    fuck you

    - everybody else

  • Thanks everyone for loving my brother! This song has been playing over and over in my mind. I lose it at the end, where Bruce cries out the moaning sound. It's how I feel each time I hear it. As a retired professor of music and saxophonist, I've tried to mimic my brother's sound, yet can not do it. But wait until you hear my son, Jake Clemons, play. It's almost like Clarence reincarnated.

  • @MrBillClemons Bless you sir.

  • @MrBillClemons I would love to hear your son play, hope it's with the E-Street someday :-))

    R.I.P. Clarence.

  • Saw them in 1975 when this sound filled the coliseum to the rafters. It was wow then and still is today. God Bless Clarence for all the joy he brought to us.

Danke Big Man.
  • St Patrick's Day. I was in the pit right where that video was being shot from. Great riff from the Big Man!

  • Goodbye Clarence, I'll meet you someday. Thank you.

  • God broke the mold after creating Mr. Clemmons; we won't see his like on this earth again.

A musician in every sense of the term.

  • I can't wait to hear that sound again live! Clearance, hug my brother and save me a seat!

  • RIP Clarence....I love the memories you have given me. What a gift.

  • The BIG MAN joins the band in heaven and I look foward to seeing that show someday. R.I.P. Clarence

  • Why do all good guys die young? =(

  • @cowboy0212

I don't know about 'young' :-P He was in his late 60s with maaany heath issues over the years. Even if you're 30, and have all those health issues, I don't know that you qualify as being 'young' anymore :-/

But a good guy? Hell yes he was. Listening to the stern show today, they talked about em for quite a while, and are playing the old clips of when he was on the show. RIP Big Man!

  • @Lovetto314 well, I think that if you die before you're 70 years old I think you're quite young.. =/

  • RIP Clarence Clemmons, sax player extraordinaire. From Bruce Springsteen's website "We are honored and thankful to have known him and had the opportunity to stand beside him for nearly 40 years," Springsteen said on his website. "He was my great friend, my partner and with Clarence at my side, my band and I were able to tell a story far deeper than those simply contained in our music. His life, his memory, and his love will live on in that story and in our band."

  • @UserIdGoesHere You TRULY are a DOUCHE!

  • @UserIdGoesHere you are an idiot. admit your wrong and shut the hell up. may god bless the big man and his recovery.

  • Comment removed

  • @UserIdGoesHere You TRULY are an asshole. Instead of correcting typos get your fucking facts straight before you pronounce someone dead. Doushe.

  • @UserIdGoesHere You must be one sick fuck to say the shit that you are saying to people who TRULEY are concerned about Clarence Clemons. I am no angel and I like to mess with people but this is no joke. The man is fighting for his life! You are one sorry son of a bitch.

  • You have to Heart and alot of Soul to do what C. C. has accomplished.

  • @UserIdGoesHere All we ask is that you do your reserch before you put someone 6feet under like you did. It wasn't true was you said about Clarence Clemons. He is on The critical list of recovery but with alot of prayer he will receive a good will intention from the Almighty Spirit from above. lets all pray!

  • @Aerokings This guy is a wise ass. Ignore his act.

  • Absolutley Brilliant!

  • @UserIdGoesHere he hasnt died!

  • @UserIdGoesHere Oi cock end! shut up! get a life! making stupid remarks like that wont get you far in this world, seriously! grow up.

  • @UserIdGoesHere GET A LIFE

  • Cool solo

  • There are 2 reasons why I like this video: 1. The guitarist on the left looks really funny 2. Clarence is not only an amazing sax player, but hes also really nice in person

  • i have never seen a video with over 60,000 views, over 60 likes, and still have 0 dislikes. until now. thank you big man.

  • This is so beautiful!

  • Two words: John Coltrane.

  • GREATEST SAX SOLO EVER!!!

    Amazing storytelling.

  • im sorry but honestly that wasnt a very good solo, that was extremely easy and age has nothing to do with. If anything you get betting with age even up into the 60-80 year old range. Clarence Clemons isnt even a skid mark on the underpants of most saxophone players

  • @usetheforce207 whatever you say he's probably the best know saxaphone player in the history of pop music. not saying he's the best nor i'm i saying this is the absolute greatest sax solo of all-time but it has something most artists usually don't put into their songs anymore...soul.

  • @jacjr6193 well pop music sucks ass and any saxophone player who limits himself to pop or rock is a melvin. And that asshole doesnt know enough about music or improvisation to have soul he's playing blue's scales, thats only 5 notes, he sucks

  • @usetheforce207 comparing rock sax player to a blues/jazz sax player is worthless arguement because all jazz horn players are A. typically more expierenced than said players B. that style of music allows them to show off their skills like rock allows guitarist to show off his skills C. no one really gives a shit because you enjoy it or you don't

  • @jacjr6193 The reason jazz saxophonists are more experienced that pop saxophonists is because they're just better and know significantly more about music. Clarence Clemons could never play bebop/jazz if he even wanted to. And rock doesnt allow guitarists to show off at all, all they play is fast blues scales with a shit load of effects on. Any jazz guitarists is better than the best rock guitarist. Look up Mike stern and Pat Metheny, they're amazing jazz guitarists.

  • @usetheforce207 and getting back to B. you comparing Clarence to a great Jazz player is like comparing one of jazz great guitarists(Wes Montgomery) to say Jimi Hendrix no contest. Drumming on the other hand is different jazz has...well...jazz has Buddy Rich no need to contiue drumming. Btw back in 1970-71? he saw a chance to make money doing what he loves to do play music. more than i can say about all the jazz sax players that no one other than old farts and you know about.

  • @jacjr6193 old farts? are you shitting me. Maybe if you're from Utah or something. Go to a place like New orleans, new york, or paris. Jazz is extremely popular in most places, especially amongst college students. And Wes Montgomery and buddy rich are ancient there is obviously a lot you don't know about music and jazz. There was a music revolution called bebop, like John coltrane and michael brecker. And as far as drummers there are amazing drummers alive now far better than rock drummers

  • This is the best sax solo in the history of music.....just amazing.

  • Simply outstanding and my favourite saxophone solo of all time. It demands that you stop, listen and feel the music massage your soul. The Big Man is truly awesome.

  • I've listened to that solo for 35 years and I can't believe it's only 1:26 long.

  • Crazy good and crazy beautiful! Go Big Man Go!!!!

  • Don't know if you are aware that the Big Man himself is using this video embedded on his site! clarenceclemonsclassic then click on jungleland solo.

    Get well soon Big Man!

  • As we all know Clarence is pretty old now.

Does the age make the sax playing harder?

Is it exhausting to play sax? He sure sounds great of course, but you can tell that some solos have sounded better a couple of years ago.

I just wonder... Because I have to see The E Street Band... And those who haven't seen them gotta experience it... Because it's an unbelievable feeling.

    The Jungleland solo is love.

  • @14joakim ,, he is great the best but age is hard on the saxplayer, the instrument is heavy and tiriing to blow but its part of him he has to do it.long may he be spared

  • i wish more rock and roll songs would use a sax

i think its one of the best out there

  • that's what the fuck I'm talking about.

  • AMAZITASTIC EPAWSOME just about sums it up.

  • When i saw that solo in stockholm. i´d realised that im happy
