@Ekopgnol VB is a typical BASIC dialect which has WYSIWYG elements and OOP in addition. BASIC was written 1964 on a GE225 system, loooooong before Windows was published. Example - list of BASIC for Linux, some of them -very- similar to VB: bwBASIC FreeBASIC kBASIC PureBASIC RapidQ RealBASIC SmallBASIC wxBASIC xBASIC ...etc Guess there isnt a single OS which has no BASIC dialect on it. So, if BASIC is garbage why is it spread so widely? Just some silly OS bashing without any knowledge, eh? ;)

Guys, the language one uses does not determine the skill of the programmer. Every language has it's weaknesses and strengths. Some languages are better for doing something then others. VB for example is an immensely useful tool for developing something very quickly (often as a prototype). However if one is looking for top performance, c or c++ is the language of choice. No language is 'noobish' :). The language you are going to use should be determined by the task you are aiming to achieve.

makes absolutely no sense. I would NEVER use a language like VB if i was soo good at C++ and it was so easy. If you are so good at win32 programming than a simple password C++ program would have been the way to go.
