Bioshock Running on X1550(unsuported graphics board)

Bioshock is quite scalable, they put the unsupported thing so you won't complain to them. I used to be able to run it on an apple mac converted for windows with a X1600 Radeon with 128mb VRAM and 1.5gb of RAM and a 1.83ghz processor with effects medium and textures high on 1280 x 800 but now I can max it out on my new computer. Sorry for all the nerdspeak.

Yeah you can, use ati tool. I got my VisionTek X1550 core oc'ed by 150mhz. This card overclocks like crazy.

256 MB DDR2 physical, 512 MB HyperMemory, it uses your system ram for video ram in a nifty way, so more system ram = more video ram = better performance

dx 9 doesnt take to muh of the crad but for the best grapih DX10 i'm using it

bioshock on my xtreme edition 6.8 with a x1550 looks farken awesome ...actually looks like a movie not cg at all.....so its not the card that makes the game its the cpu i guess

dude, you dont even have a bioshock movie... and you have an AGP x1550, its impossible for your card to render graphics better then mine

"Game like Bioshock" ? Dude Bioshock sucks ass at the graphics part, it was all commercial and nothing real, wanna see great graphics ? check Unreal Tournament 3, graphics is twice as good, textures on the face (you can even see the hair nose!). About Crysis I don't know, i didn't test that game, but it will surely work because a friend of me tested it on Ati 9600 with no problems. By the way, you want graphics so cool? then get DX10 and maybe you got a chance, that or a GeForce 8800

well my new pc with 6Ghz dual core, 2gb ram ddr2 and came with this, i added £25 cos i only had an onboard one. im gonna get another of these cards but mine is the:

X1550 pro 512mb DDR2 so mine is the best out, also think its pci - e

Dude i was gonna get a VisionTek - RADEON X1550 Graphics Card is that what your using or are you using the stealth ATI radeon x1550? cuz im getting the card just for this game and it says it excludes it.

its actually the video causing the low frame rate, anyway that is beside the point, the fact is that Bioshock's requirements absolutely forbid ati X1550. And yet... it works for me, and not bad to :).

its hard to say, it might be the video causing the lag or it might be the recording program (it has been known to reduce frames)
