  • They were well before the madchester thing. I haven't heard anything from them since 1985. Thanks whoever uploaded this.

  • i went to school with david newman he was a yeare above me. springfield primary school. he was a cool dude then and still is. nice one dave . herman remeber me lol

  • i prefer the C86 era Drops. Madchester does them ill.

  • This was them obviously trying to update their sound and appear contemporary with the onset of baggy, bit like what The Soup Dragons did. Didn't work.

  • This band played Avalon in Chicago.

  • poor age

  • this song has that madchester sound from the early 90's

  • @mcatling MODERN ROCK

  • @ABTE67 Psychedelic

  • @mcatling ---aye, tho? Pre- Stone Roses and Happy Mondays even!

  • i still see the singer around

  • who cares if hes gay. he has a good voice

  • I love their sound, it surrounds you. Classic-modern-elegant. If he's gay, his voice still sounded so manly... cool name for a band too! They should be recognized while they are still alive.

  • oasis 4 years earlier

  • Yeah, the vid is very Oasis, only the songs have more interest to me

  • clearly this is more blur.

  • the drops were hugely under rated which is why we are still talking about them.....us real fans know great tunes when we hear them...london new cross i think it was in 1991...stunning show...then they split....devastated

  • Hi, Couldnt agree with you more, very underated, but hey, at least you got to see them live. Who knows they may reform one day, most groups from the 80s/90s have.

  • Paul Marsh is not gay.

  • great video for too high? is there a live version

  • Paul Marsh is gay? Can anyone confirm that?

  • This band maintained a simple yet sophisticated solid style since the 1980's.

The homosexaulity of the lead singer conflicted with manly tones of the instrumention.

Presenting many western youth with a vibe of deception.

That is why the Mighty Lemon Drops remained mostly esoteric in the U.S.

  • Great song, dreadful video . . . Sort of like they were trying to imitate The Beastie Boy's "So Whatcha Want?", only they're pale English lads, not street-smart New Yorkers. Still, they were a great band and Dave Newton wrote great pop songs.

  • awesome song my band did a cover of this a few years ago it rocked
