Cornwell is articulate, intelligent, knowledgeable and doggedly hard-working. He definitely looks like he basks in the fruits of his labors. You may criticize him on the merits of his works but he's definitely gotten into his position in life through his own means.
So would you if you had been on TV and had been an author most of your life. Don't have to take the piss of the guy just because he's made it for himself in life. Good on him, I would love to be in his position and I dare say you would too.
