  • i think it's impossible to compare, because the wood from the 1954 is very different and much better than modern, and you cant improve it with all of that new gear, imho

this the 50th Anniversary Masterbuilt guitar looks great but F1954 wins)

  • NOOOOOO..!!!!!QUE SONIDOO........

  • Creed sucks

  • I know it's a lot to ask, but it's worth a shot, can I have it?

  • when u dream about a guitar this is how it sounds doing solos

  • Why is it so used just behind the last fret? You can't play there anyways??:S

  • It must be awesome with a guy called " Angus Marshall " ... !

  • To bad normal musicians will never be able to afford any of these.

  • @kikster93 u could find these at a garage sale for 5 bucks or something :)

  • @1FenderGuy Let me know where dude!!!

  • @kikster93 If by normal musicians you mean those that play guitar for a living.. They can afford it.

  • keep them away from MALMSTEEN O_O ._.

  • The 54 has a richer sound.

  • @B73879 Definitely!

  • Somebody gives him a 54 strat and all he can think to play is 3 chords over and over, lame.

  • @joe1969812 Funny thing is even though you dislike those 3 chords, he is the one with the 54 Strat at the end of it all. I doubt he gives a shit what you think.

  • the replica is brighter

  • @drew199321 may I have it? :)

  • I have a rare 2007 single coil Nitro daphne blue HighWay One Fender usa Strat. Fender only made 1500 of these in Nitro daphne blue on the up graded versions. The color was discontinued 12-31-2007. But this 1954 is simply mind blowing. Keep it under rapes

  • i trade your guitar for my girlfriend

  • I love how he's got an Aussie accent and his name's Angus. :D

  • dude, can SOMEONE tell me please the name of the song in the beginning???ì drives me crazy...

  • @rostbifv2 Short Fat Fanny by Karl Taylor.

  • UMM,what is the big deal. Its just a piece of painted wood.

  • @bighornpt thx God at least someone who understands!

  • @bighornpt I guess you wold have to be a guitarist to understand.

  • @bighornpt I don't know, why do people want vintage cars... they're just a piece of painted metal.

  • @bighornpt And your just a twat in human skin.

  • @bighornpt just kill yourself please...thank you

  • drooling

  • this is the best 240p i've ever seen on yt

  • NineNeen 54

  • What song in the beginning?????

  • The wear at the top of the fingerboard on the 54 seems odd to me.

  • wow, whatta guitah lol

  • guys ive got one and its not that good i dont really like it

  • @oliharr What don't you like about it?

  • is beautifull

  • i liked the guy's mullet almost as much as i liked the strat

  • WOW! thumbs up on this!

  • i would have liked to hear that guitar in action. blaahh

  • well apparently my great granddads attic has tons of these things laying around i took 5 of em along with his 65 deluxe reverb

  • Whats the song in the beginning?

  • can these guitar make a nice distortion sound???

  • @AmigoFiell Almost nobody uses the normal Stratocaster for metal. Yet Yngwie Malmsteen plays a normal Stratocaster exclusively. Iron Maiden also use Strats, but modified with double pickups.

  • i play with fender but i have red one and it sounds the best its very easy to play and very very good guitar!!!

  • check out my channel for some songs that use some sweet strat licks.

  • A mullet-wearing Aussie (or Kiwi?) named Angus... I find this odd o.0 lol

Good playing, tho, great guitars, and thanks for posting! :)

  • Good aye, mate!

  • I love how all of the old guitars are the best, it's like "ok, we've been developing for over 50 years but we still can't make it any better?"

  • whats the song name at the begining?

  • whats the song name at 00:25?

  • i have this guitar mother of god

  • great guitar \o)

  • Lol a '54 Strat would go for 780,000,0000 dollars and if not 800,000,000

  • I play the strat, I don't think I will ever play something else.

  • i jus inhareted the last in this series (not the custom shop 1) its numbered 2,900,000 on the head and its hand made!!!! and i love every moment of playing it!!!!!

  • dude play some Hendrix it just screams it.

  • @dylancollver he didnt wanna wear out the frets i think, hehehehe

  • Personally, I think the old 54's are the best sounding strats of all time.

  • @offplanetfilms and where do u get 2 play em

  • @offplanetfilms they are

  • @offplanetfilms I bet you're not the only one ;)

  • @deepwoodskentuckian

    More like 3x that, I'm sure o.0

  • @ClientSeven i love fender strats but im getting a squier for my birthday with a maple fingerboard im gonna get it refinished in sunburst

  • Not complaining on your playing skills, but you need to make them scream a bit more, , if you get what I mean :-|

  • They sound exactly the same to me .........

  • @OPOCHKA thats because you have untrained ears. musicians call this dead ears. you can hear the difference with trained ears. the 54 original has better clarity vibrance and that sparkly crystal sound you get for the tone wood and pups.

  • la del 54 tiene un sonido un poquin mas calido.

  • this is a sound u can't get in ANY OTHER GUITAR

  • I wish I could find one in an attic somewhere in mint condition with a '59 Les Paul in Mint condition with a '59 Marshall plexi stack in mint condition, id would tell no-one id just playem and become a rock'n'roll star. id just tell people they where reisues, lol, they way they wouldnt try to steal them, oh.....and id buy me a gun

  • @qklsjdv

I would sell that crap lol

  • @Secondlifecreator You have no class.

  • @Secondlifecreator I will laugh at you hahaaa and another HA ... do you know how special those items he named are ?? you have no class

  • @qklsjdv Now that you've told everyone that they're gonna watch out for you in the future and if you do show up with that gear no one will believe that they are reissues cause you just devulged your whole plan to all of YouTube! >:D

  • @qklsjdv a '59 Marshall? didn't know they made a amp in 1959.

  • @MrRcheek Ur right, they started in '62.

  • @qklsjdv DUDE ! :D ... We ve got a same dream ! :D

  • @qklsjdv nobody becomes a 'rockn roll star' by getting an expensive guitar

  • @qklsjdv

Do you mean a model 1959 Marshall (aka JTM 45/100)? There are no Marshall stacks from the calendar year 1959.

  • i have one but idk y the sound is not electric @ all!! it seems like idk how to connect it :S!! help me out plzzzzzzzzzz

  • very good! waming sound,

  • make my strat torino red with a pearl pick guard.

  • not raggin on the guitar or the player. but damn dude, dig into that fucker!!! dont just plink the strings like its made of china from the ming dynasty! how the hell we apposed to really tell how it sounds? not a critique of the player but a critique of the video. didnt tell us anything. i'm sure its got soul but you cant tell by this video. and they ax me why I drink! sheesh.

  • A una stratocaster hay que saberle sacar el sonido, yo aqui no oigo ningun crunch

  • That '54 strat goes directly into my soul!

It's not just the guitar, you want

It's the guitar that you need!

  • That '54 strat goes directly into my soul!

It's not just the guitar, you want

    It's the guitar you need!

  • Musicians Porn...

  • @fugamante i actually jerked off to it

  • @fugamante Indeed

  • Hermosa!!!

  • i dont hear whats so special about this guitar. seems like these people try to make it seem like the most expensive and classic 'vintage' stuff is the best sounding. There's more out there than old expensive guitars.

  • @abarbar06 There's noting special about vintage guitars other than the age of the wood, I heard the the older that wood gets, the more sustain it has. Fender still makes guitars sound like this to this very day. Guitars are made better and are of a way higher quality than back then. But owning a guitar like this is like owning a piece of history, the Stratocaster has had such an impact on Rock along with its older brother, the Telecaster!

  • my ears just had an orgasim

  • this man has the most legendary rock name in history

  • what a guitar!! can anybody please tell me who's the music in the back when the clip ends from??

  • @ Timothy, the other user is right! Squires do not stay in tune very well! Go with the Mexican strat. Also I recently played an Epiphone les Paul, nice guitar but also has a problem with staying in tune! I found that mainly the G string gets out of tune a lot and it was very frustrating to keep tuning it. I must say that I just bought a 2008 American standard strat for like $850! I fking love it. Stays in tune very well and I play really hard. U want quality. Be patient and save up for the real

  • @cornbluff1 also I've found that the frets are of very poor quality on the squires and they wear very easily from string bending buy the mim or mi usa strats!

  • I'm picking out a guitar and need help

this is my first electric but I've played acoustic for a while

My budget is 500$ My current set up thought is Ephiphone Les Paul $300

line 6 spyder 15w $99 case: $71 Wire: $12that makes $490 so the rest I figure for strings, cleaning equipment like string cleaner. Then a little later, get effects. I was also looking at strats but can only get squier strats which are like $250 at most which gives me room for effects andmaybe a better amp so HELP

  • @timothyga01 Add 100$ and get a mexican strat. It's an instrument you can keep a long time.

  • @timothyga01 I would recomend you the squir 60's classic vibe strat, it costs aroud 300 but hey thats just because Im a strat guy insted of a les paul guy. And for the amp I would chose one that is over 60w

  • @timothyga01 i'm playing guitar 8 years, and i buyed my first electric this january, and my budget was 500€, i buyed an yamaha pacifica 112jcx for 300€, and amplifier crush orange 35w and it was 200€, i got some discount for paying in cash, so then i buyed guitar bag, and other accesories for guitar.... believe me, dont start with the strat, great guitar is for great guitarist :) i'm planing to buy one strat, but not now...

  • @SmoreniZmaj wut?

  • @SmoreniZmaj man!get the original Fender Strats once and for all.You'll never regret it.It's a life-time!!

  • ..football???? shape selector knob?????

  • this is the guitar

  • what does he playing at the end of the video?

  • Those are true 54's too. I may be the only guy who ever cared to notice, but look at the location of the strap button. It was only ever put in that spot on the early 54 models. they moved it to its permanent location in the middle of the model year

  • @JTheGuitarPlayer Love the short skirt knobs too.

  • hey i just realized i have a 2004 strat, 50 years after the first one..... cool

  • original 54-56 Strats arent Stratocasters.

    These are Dreamcasters

  • HOLY MOTHER FUCKER!!!!! I've got the freaken same guitar in that vid, holy crap, and it was given by a uncle of mine 0.0 Im shitty lucky!!!!

  • @GuitarRockJ yes u are....

  • whats the beginning song?

  • Check out the rounded headstock edges.Love that ash it's so magical sounding!

  • CIGARETTE!!!

  • You are very very very very very very very very very lucky

  • Music at the begining of the video is "Short Fat Fanny", song wich start at 0:47 is "Up And Over" both by Karl Taylor.

  • i dont believe fender started the sratocaster till 1956

  • @LowTideLife . Ha! Really? Well, you're wrong. Why would you say something like that? You've just showed your ignorance there fella. Time for a new religion dickhead

  • Nothing quite like an old Strat. I have a '56 neck on a '57 body. The body had a pro refinish about 30 years ago, the pickguard and tuning pegs are oriignal, but everything else is Frankensteined out. Still, it sounds great for an old piece of wood, and that V-neck profile has a very unique feel to it.

  • guitaws

  • I can't honestly say that I hear any significant difference between them, the 54 sounds like it might have slightly a little more bottom end to it but it's hardly noticeable. It's not like Fender's butchering their guitars to make them sound inferior to the vintage ones, Fender still has the specs of their original hardware. Newer Strats come with hotter pickups to appeal to a wider span of guitarists. The point is that this very guitar single-handedly made the electric guitar an icon!

  • sounds like a 2010 strat so price is horrible 50 materials is way less that what 2000 are dont matter year they all sound similar.Do a blind test with a mim no one can tell the difference.

  • @TheDevillll I have a MIM Srat that I primarily played for 9 years that sounds fucking amazing unplugged. But it still doesn't compare to my 2000 American Strat or my 62' American Reissue Strat. I'm going to have to call you out and say that if you know anything about tone and sound then you can tell the difference.

  • the 54 s peghead seems a bit clean for the condition of the finger board , the finish seems a little dark also , the pickup cracks are very uniform , the end of the neck seems very well worn where it meets the body , when no one plays there other than that the new strat had a nice sparkle i thought

  • @AshStrat1

You're right. A couple of things about that '54 don't quite add up.

  • @AshStrat1

You're right. A couple of things about that '54 don't quite add up.

  • @AshStrat1. Incorrect you are. How it "seems" to you is well and good, I guess. But you're wrong. Fact. People like you with your "expert" opinions are sickening. So shut the fuck up and pull your two-bit head in you idiot! LOL... "seems a bit clean..." Oh, and this and that... in my expert opinion.. LOL. You have no fucking idea tool. If you owned this guitar, you'd be the first to claim it's authenticity, I know! And it is authentic. That's a fact fuckwit!

  • puto mediodre tocas feo feo y feo estas

  • pinchi medicre pendejo hijo de añl chinhada

  • the real one has a touch more sustain and warmth.. what great guitars.

  • what's the name of the second song ?

  • What this sound?

  • yh come down 2 our shop with $100,000 and u have a chance of getting a 54 strat maybe, nevertheless, if anyone did have that kind of money, what a way to spend it !!

  • Thats one of the best videos in youtube!!!

  • playing velvet revolver?

  • @JediMasterMitch which song is it?

  • @JediMasterMitch which song is it?

  • Gruß an alle Gitarrenfreunde

  • Holy crap how much money was he just holding and playing?!

  • Angus Marshall. That's a name

  • The wear that you often see at the end of the finger/fret board is caused by the player struming/picking over the neck with their pick - I think it's refered to as "chicken scratchin" by the vintage guys.

  • i wish i could have his name

  • Hey how come all you guys down there are named Angus?

  • NOW THE 1949 STRAT WAS A REAL GUITAR!

  • @jehovahuponyou the first strat was build in 1954^^

  • how much is this guitar?

  • Dude you cant just be born with that awesome of a name

  • Funny how old strats often have wear at the end of the fretboard beyond the 21st fret. Anybody know what causes that? It can't be from fretting and I don't think it's from anything the picking hand does either. My theory is that it actually happens when the guitar is in the case. The case's padding presses the strings against the fretboard end, then as the guitar gets jostled around the strings wear against it. I bet you only see this wear on strats that traveled in their cases a lot.

  • @1Doz You are correct.

  • @1Doz - Hi there, I would have thought plectrum wear would be more likely - and would explain why exists on some and not others depending on player technique.

  • the fender strat 54 pré-production? ou serie L

  • They sound the same.

  • Angus Marshall, wow.. What a great name... AC/DCs Angus would like that name

  • The guitar work made Stairway to Heaven;the lyrics and melody belong to another

another century more suited to a lute and fairground jesters.

  • I've been a Fender player all my life. My grandfather had a 1950 Fender Broadcaster that I now own and wouldn't trade it for the world. I almost lost my house last year and still wouldn't sell my guitars to keep it.

  • @cdt19404 keep away from John 5 or he will stole it from you LOL

  • @cdt19404 Now that is love. Nice one.

  • plz the background song ????like country one ??

  • im more of a gibson guy but fenders are awesome also

  • Has the patina and 'airy chimey' tone that only time and 'gig experience' creates.

Abs gorgeous lapping of grain on the ash body, great looking neck.

Fender simply does not contour the body contours as rounded and compact and delicate anymore. Nice little body horns and large radius along edges, deep contours, less chunky bodies overall. You can see them gradually letting go of that visual quality aesthetic during the 1960's, but I miss it. Old ones are works of art! '50's space-age wonders.

  • I have a 99 fender princeton chorus amp, and I get better metal tone out oof it than marshalls and randalls Ive played using the same setting on them as my fender amp
