@joe1969812 Funny thing is even though you dislike those 3 chords, he is the one with the 54 Strat at the end of it all. I doubt he gives a shit what you think.
I have a rare 2007 single coil Nitro daphne blue HighWay One Fender usa Strat. Fender only made 1500 of these in Nitro daphne blue on the up graded versions. The color was discontinued 12-31-2007. But this 1954 is simply mind blowing. Keep it under rapes
@AmigoFiell Almost nobody uses the normal Stratocaster for metal. Yet Yngwie Malmsteen plays a normal Stratocaster exclusively. Iron Maiden also use Strats, but modified with double pickups.

@abarbar06 There's noting special about vintage guitars other than the age of the wood, I heard the the older that wood gets, the more sustain it has. Fender still makes guitars sound like this to this very day. Guitars are made better and are of a way higher quality than back then. But owning a guitar like this is like owning a piece of history, the Stratocaster has had such an impact on Rock along with its older brother, the Telecaster!
@ Timothy, the other user is right! Squires do not stay in tune very well! Go with the Mexican strat. Also I recently played an Epiphone les Paul, nice guitar but also has a problem with staying in tune! I found that mainly the G string gets out of tune a lot and it was very frustrating to keep tuning it. I must say that I just bought a 2008 American standard strat for like $850! I fking love it. Stays in tune very well and I play really hard. U want quality. Be patient and save up for the real
@cornbluff1 also I've found that the frets are of very poor quality on the squires and they wear very easily from string bending buy the mim or mi usa strats!
this is my first electric but I've played acoustic for a while
My budget is 500$ My current set up thought is Ephiphone Les Paul $300
line 6 spyder 15w $99 case: $71 Wire: $12that makes $490 so the rest I figure for strings, cleaning equipment like string cleaner. Then a little later, get effects. I was also looking at strats but can only get squier strats which are like $250 at most which gives me room for effects andmaybe a better amp so HELP

Those are true 54's too. I may be the only guy who ever cared to notice, but look at the location of the strap button. It was only ever put in that spot on the early 54 models. they moved it to its permanent location in the middle of the model year
@LowTideLife . Ha! Really? Well, you're wrong. Why would you say something like that? You've just showed your ignorance there fella. Time for a new religion dickhead
Nothing quite like an old Strat. I have a '56 neck on a '57 body. The body had a pro refinish about 30 years ago, the pickguard and tuning pegs are oriignal, but everything else is Frankensteined out. Still, it sounds great for an old piece of wood, and that V-neck profile has a very unique feel to it.
I can't honestly say that I hear any significant difference between them, the 54 sounds like it might have slightly a little more bottom end to it but it's hardly noticeable. It's not like Fender's butchering their guitars to make them sound inferior to the vintage ones, Fender still has the specs of their original hardware. Newer Strats come with hotter pickups to appeal to a wider span of guitarists. The point is that this very guitar single-handedly made the electric guitar an icon!
sounds like a 2010 strat so price is horrible 50 materials is way less that what 2000 are dont matter year they all sound similar.Do a blind test with a mim no one can tell the difference.
@TheDevillll I have a MIM Srat that I primarily played for 9 years that sounds fucking amazing unplugged. But it still doesn't compare to my 2000 American Strat or my 62' American Reissue Strat. I'm going to have to call you out and say that if you know anything about tone and sound then you can tell the difference.
the 54 s peghead seems a bit clean for the condition of the finger board , the finish seems a little dark also , the pickup cracks are very uniform , the end of the neck seems very well worn where it meets the body , when no one plays there other than that the new strat had a nice sparkle i thought
@AshStrat1. Incorrect you are. How it "seems" to you is well and good, I guess. But you're wrong. Fact. People like you with your "expert" opinions are sickening. So shut the fuck up and pull your two-bit head in you idiot! LOL... "seems a bit clean..." Oh, and this and that... in my expert opinion.. LOL. You have no fucking idea tool. If you owned this guitar, you'd be the first to claim it's authenticity, I know! And it is authentic. That's a fact fuckwit!
yh come down 2 our shop with $100,000 and u have a chance of getting a 54 strat maybe, nevertheless, if anyone did have that kind of money, what a way to spend it !!
The wear that you often see at the end of the finger/fret board is caused by the player struming/picking over the neck with their pick - I think it's refered to as "chicken scratchin" by the vintage guys.
Funny how old strats often have wear at the end of the fretboard beyond the 21st fret. Anybody know what causes that? It can't be from fretting and I don't think it's from anything the picking hand does either. My theory is that it actually happens when the guitar is in the case. The case's padding presses the strings against the fretboard end, then as the guitar gets jostled around the strings wear against it. I bet you only see this wear on strats that traveled in their cases a lot.
@1Doz - Hi there, I would have thought plectrum wear would be more likely - and would explain why exists on some and not others depending on player technique.
I've been a Fender player all my life. My grandfather had a 1950 Fender Broadcaster that I now own and wouldn't trade it for the world. I almost lost my house last year and still wouldn't sell my guitars to keep it.
Has the patina and 'airy chimey' tone that only time and 'gig experience' creates.
Abs gorgeous lapping of grain on the ash body, great looking neck.
Fender simply does not contour the body contours as rounded and compact and delicate anymore. Nice little body horns and large radius along edges, deep contours, less chunky bodies overall. You can see them gradually letting go of that visual quality aesthetic during the 1960's, but I miss it. Old ones are works of art! '50's space-age wonders.
I have a 99 fender princeton chorus amp, and I get better metal tone out oof it than marshalls and randalls Ive played using the same setting on them as my fender amp
i think it's impossible to compare, because the wood from the 1954 is very different and much better than modern, and you cant improve it with all of that new gear, imho

@1Doz You are correct.

@1Doz - Hi there, I would have thought plectrum wear would be more likely - and would explain why exists on some and not others depending on player technique.

The guitar work made Stairway to Heaven;the lyrics and melody belong to another
another century more suited to a lute and fairground jesters.
