What I find very worrying and disturbing is, that this woman, like many others are "TEACHERS!!!" and they can't even control their own kids??? O_o

the mom is annoying with her voice, but i understand her lack of encouragement, its like on another show a mom admitted, when your child acts like this or so long it wears on you and you can start to not like your child. It seems like she has resentment, or she is just a school teacher and they are known for being mean and cold.

Food issues with kids aren't necessarily bad behaviour. They go through phases with that.

When Andrew is due a growth spurt, they'll probably find they wont be able to fill him and he'll eat alot more.

I don't think it's so much that. My parents didn't do that. We had to eat what was set before us, or we got to eat it the next meal. Having to drink cheerios that sat in milk all day took care of that. There was no dessert. A you eat it or starve should work.
