In Live At Last Ozzy sings this lyrics too... It's pretty nice this lyrics version, I only miss when he says ''killing yourself to live'' in the studio lyrics.
I'm not exactly sure if he used that specific type of Laney. I've seen that particular amp though, and have heard how it sounds and it seems like an amp that Iommi may have used, but I can't say for certain. I'm not much of a gearhead.
@Juckey2008 Juckey, Iommi seems to have used the Klipp for recording some of the fuzz parts on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (the song in particular). The regular Supergroup is what he used most of the time though.
@TheSterlingSound I forget where I read this but I've read somewhere he used the Klipp and Supergroup/RangeMaster for Master of Reality.. and, well, the amp was designed for him- so he definitely had used it.
yeah...I guess the truth is kinda hard to swallow when it's about someone you ' worship'...but take a hard , close look at your idol...his brain and body are now suffering from all the alcohol and drugs consumed over a period of almost 40 years...he can barely walk...let alone talk coherently...just try to sit thru one episode of 'the ozbournes'...it's painful....ok ozzy fans..let's see how many negative red numbers you can vote next to my comment..lol..you can beat 8
@karaokekills from where i stand it was totally worth it. art hurts... it shortens your life. look at bukowski, mozart, van gough....you gotta kill your self to live.
goes to prove ozzys voice did and always will suck live..I have worked sabbath and ozzy shows a number of times ..ozzy has a backup singer hiding behind an amp for every show..dont get me wrong I am a sabbath and ozzy fan..but ozzy will always sound better in the studio..dont you guys ever notice when ozzy screams at the crowd his voice gurgles w/ flem..but when he "sings" it majically gets smoother
if your Jimmy Page then your a sorry ass mother fucker for not involving John Paul Jones your old bass player (remember him?) to join you and Robert Plant when you two did the reunion tours..asshole..but of course your not
This was more likely in 1974, not 1973. The Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath album wasn't released until December 1973, making it impossible to perform this song live in February 1973!
It's not impossible. It's pretty easy to perform something live before its recorded. Sabbath did this numerous times. A lot of what ended up on Paranoid was played live long before it was recorded...(the song 'War Pigs' comes to mind). This IS one of the earliest versions of this song, and it was played at almost every show in 1973...with lots of ad libbing by Ozzy.
Yes, many songs are performed long before they are recorded. But one important factor that proves this was later was that Tony Iommi has whacked his hair short immediately after the "Vol 4" album release in late '72. No way it could've grown out that quickly in a couple of months.
no wonder...i kept waiting for the picture to catch up with the audio, lol. also, i did some checking and I was (groan) wrong. tonny iommi didn't whack his hair until the sabotage album in 75. sorry, slap me. glad to know someone else out there likes sabbath enough to debate it.
actually if you notice tony at the california jam concert in 1974 tony has short hair and no mustouche i've always wondered why. it is the only time in sabbath history that he has no mustouche

Blacksabfan, Did Iommi ever use the Laney Klipp amp? I figure if anyone knows this, it would be you.

His high point as a singer was in Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage, imho. It's a pity, indeed...

Ozzy stuttered severley as a child. The drugs and booze later of course did not make it better
