  • It's already been said. But it really doesn't get any better than this.

    One of my favorite CD's.

  • exquisite............

  • i cry every time i hear this song...her voice and passion are unforgettable...Shirley, you are amazing! you will live on forever in this song

  • This is amazing. I also love Barbara Cook's version of this song...magical! And recorded at age 83!

  • Horn's phrasing is sinful. Her voice is beautiful. RIP.

  • Very beautifully sang, listen to Ms Horn's phrasing...

  • Sterling pefection! ahhhh...

  • Here's to Shirley Horn and Johnny Mandel. That's as good as it gets, folks.

  • What a great song, so full of love for life. No sorrow, no pessimism, just "all that's good get better". Thanks Shirley: "Here's to Life"!

  • Here's to Life, Here's to Love, Here's to Shirley!

  • She's magnificent. It awes me. like the best of Billy, Ella. Sarah, and Dinah.

  • This song belongs to Shirley no matter who sings it.

  • Let this wash over you......

  • If you don't feel this... I'm sorry for you. :(

  • I felt every word, note, period, exclamation point, breath, sigh, pause, question mark of this song. It doesn't get any deeper than this. Thank you Shirley, your interpretation of this song gave my life a deeper meaning.

  • She transports me.

  • Ms.Horn...a true class act.....one of a kind....wish we had more like her!

  • I adore her. I first heard "Here's to Life" during on a lonely drive to speak at the University of Virginia. I fell in love at first note, and I'm not a necessarily a jazz fan. I kick myself for not going to see her live when I lived in Washington DC. It's a testament to pragmatic optimism. Love the arrangement too. May all your storms be weathered and all that's good get better."

  • @lenanozizwe Lovely comment!

  • Man, this is exquisite . . .

  • Thank you, thank you Shirley. We need you. Here's to you.

  • I am embarrassed that I am hearing this great and wonderfully recorded song for the first time today. I have replayed it 5x so far.

Thanks for posting, may all your storms be weathered.

  • @BrownSuede if you love this song, be sure to check out the entire album (or most any Shirley Horn CD for that matter(. She's truly amazing...

  • I'm usually eloquent in what I want to say about a song and its meaning, but frankly, I'm speechless. Perhaps, I'm just not done "dreaming." Thanks for posting this incredibly moving song by a truly great artist. R.I.P. Shirley.

  • My favorite song off of one of my favorite albums by one of my favorite simgers.

  • @CarolineAnnMartinCAT Absolutely!
