  • Lol they way he say it is like teaching kids... :)

  • Jeez....this is scary, all those empty seats. It's like Rand is telling everyone what WILL happen, but nobody is there willing to listen.

  • @Revolution2012RP Your other candidates are all unelectable. Choose your poison.

  • @pvisserandorra We'll see about that ;) Thank you for pointing out any thing but Paul is poison. I'd say Obama is the most potent poison of them all. We'll see how the American people vote.

  • @Revolution2012RP If you want to have a look at libertarian principals, go to Somalia. If you want to live in the US that your parents lived in, you need unions, a free press, and less money in politics. Libertarianism is a form of anarchy that only benefits the rich.

  • @pvisserandorra You are one preachy ignorant sob.. Public unions are a nuisance and are unsustainable, if you think we have a free press as defined by our Constitution and resemble any thing close as spoken of by JFK your an idiot and you contradict yourself by saying we need Unions in the same sentence as less money in politics.. Libertarianism provides a free and prosperous path for all not just a few. Why do people complain about wealth and yet not complain about the fair means ofearningit

  • @Revolution2012RP No I don't think we have a free press, that's why its needed. I would rather have more union money in politics than less, as long as corporations are people and can give candidates whatever they want. No, libertarianism does not make people free and prosperous. It enslaves most, and enriches few. There are plenty of examples of imposed libertarianism, and none have delivered the utopian result that you profess. Most end up with massive disparity.

  • @Revolution2012RP The one in a bubble is you. Ignore history at your peril.

  • @pvisserandorra "I've worked in the private sector, they expect results." Ray Stantz Ghostbusters.

  • @Revolution2012RP I'm supposed to be impressed with Ghostbuster quotes? Here, like Aristotle, who said something similar, is a quote from Plutarch - An imbalance between rich and poor is the oldest and most fatal ailment of all republics.

Karl Polanyi also wrote about libertarianism, when it was tried in the UK long ago in his book "The Great Transformation".

  • @pvisserandorra Don't give a crap what socialists are impressed with.

  • @Revolution2012RP Who ever said I was a socialist? A quote that has lasted 2000 years should impress you. No one is going to give a darn what you said in under 10 seconds.

  • How do people not agree with math?!?!? Who votes against this stuff?

  • Rand I think that the people in congress should pay 4 their own medical & put this money that the tax payers R paying 4 this into ss. I also think everyone in office should get a paycut of at least $5000. as they have done a horrible job 4 years. I also think they could take some money from the fed ss & put it in the private sector. These guys have been steeling form the private sector 4 years.

  • Scumbag in the house. Fuck Rand Paul the piece of fucking lying shit. Rand Paul fans = cocksuckers.

  • Let the system fail. It's going to anyways.

  • Go Rand. Actually talking about things that make sense. You must be confusing the hell out of them.

  • @InfoWarsTV1 Long live the NWO.

  • This is a fantastic speech

  • $1.46 Federal spending in his state per dollar collected. An issue that he doesn't talk about.

  • @pvisserandorra because this is a speech about SS not Kentucky spending. He's a senator as well who was elected to deal with federal issues like the topic above. It should be addressed, no doubt, just if he mentioned every thing that is wrong in the US you'd still be watching this video

  • @davefromcamp Yes, but he claims to be about cutting taxes, but ignores his own State. SS is funded (on paper) for a long time, but Kentucky is a huge sink hole sucking up taxpayers money right now. Fully funded SS is the target not the leach Kentucky. Come on, get real. If you support this guy, then "help" him with the easy cuts. If he does this of course, he wont be a 10 + time guy like his Father.

  • @davefromcamp The fund we all paid into is the problem but his state, and most of the other red states aren't? I also wrote a comment on this video 3 months ago, and some strict constitutionalist who posted the video deleted it.

  • @pvisserandorra Well with that logic only states with the millionaires would have good roads and bridges. Also much of that federal money is mandated to spend i.e. medicare. Typically governors are the ones who then accept the federal money. So I guess I don't know your "easy" cuts that you speak of when they show the graphs of the federal budget I never see that Kentucky label indicating a large percentage of the budget. Again the point of this video that is small SS is BIG!

  • @davefromcamp You don't get to pick and choose what you get to cut and don't cut. If you want piss and moan about public spending, either start with the military or states. SS is a FUNDED project and has been paid into for a long time. Kentucky is a vacuum, like many other republican states.

  • Which senator from Alabama is he referring to?

  • Which senator from Alabama is he referring to?

  • Perry just copied the Pauls!

  • Give me back what I put in. Sure take your deferred tax. Cut me loose and we can call it even.

  • Go Rand! But does anyone think the floor listened or cares?

  • I'd rather just get rid of Social Security and have an option to get out of it. I don't want it now, I don't want it later. It's theft and redistribution of wealth.

  • The government may have set up social security because they think we are dumb and that we can't save our money (frankly they are right about some Americans). Buy Rand please don't call SS an entitlement system it makes you look retarded. How come your dad is so smart and you always wind up looking dumb? I thought the apple wasn't suppose to fall far from the tree?

  • LOL. Did you follow Rand on this? SS has a surplus (more income from it than benefits paid out). The US govt cannot spend it directly, so it invests it into the most secure place possible. US bonds. The govt then spends the equity from these bonds on 1) wars 2) tax cuts for the rich 3) military complex 4) perscription drugs under medicare for which we do NOT have the income for. But, Rand says we want to reduce even more SS benefits, which would cause for MORE invested bonds. He's clueless.

  • Wow, his argument is full of logical fallacies.

  • @N33DL3R As well as numbers that he's pulled straight out of his ass.

  • Rand Paul is on fire. Future president right there.

  • Rand Paul is part of the problem. He can argue well but he finds it difficult to spawn new ideas. He fails to reach out to all members of these chambers. He is very partisan and seems only interested in placing blame against any that oppose him. Time to reach across the table Mr. Paul. And I would ask that the democraps do the same. These people are killing this country with their inability to compromise and come to resolutions that meet the needs of this country and it's people.

  • After the debt deals are over, we need to focus on protecting our freedoms.

I propose a Constitutional amendment. (thumbs up if you want it.)

If a bill shall pass from this day forward that is found to be unconstitutional, those that shall have voted to pass such a bill, shall be Impeached without vote upon the finding of unconstitutionality.

ps. copy and paste this on different videos. You are the voice of the people. Let none tell you otherwise!

  • The problem of boomers was anticipated back in the 80s & ADJUSTED to ensure a solution to the imbalance. BOOMERS HAVE BEEN PAYING EXTRA WHILE THEY WERE WORKING so that this imbalance would be accounted for. It was the criminals in Congress that STOLE THOSE SURPLUSES FOR THEIR SPENDING SPREES. So now it's Congress' RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAY THAT SURPLUS THEY BORROWED. This is not a faulty program of phony entitlements. Think back, remember what was agreed on. Rand's analysis is wrong.

  • When Rand Paul speaks, I am embarrassed to say I am American.

  • Rand Paul is a simple man with simple solutions for you simpletons

  • Social security is a scam, it will never work! Why give your money away to some bureaucrats hoping that they will give back when you retire? Save and invest your own money for the retirement. If you can't take care of yourself and die, then too bad!

  • @Minotona Fine, we just need an actuarially sound plan to switch over. The idea that this generation of the young should be now doubly taxed is not fair, just so they will be able to reap their own savings on top of UNCONTROLLED winding down of SocSec

  • 4min 20seconds is priceless.

  • In 2010, total income was $781.1 billion and expenditures were $712.5 billion, which meant a total net increase in assets of $68.6 billion. Assets in 2010 were $2.6 trillion, an amount that is expected to be adequate to cover the next 10 years.

  • Bush tripled the size of government. Now we have Barack Obush. We are fucked, welcome to slavery.

    $10 per hour for life

  • Its important to remember that its not the governments fault They are just doing what they will always do if they are elected. The people have to elect better leaders. Speaking of people who elect better leaders. What district is Rand from, im going to move there. lol

  • What the Social Security Administration wants is for you to die before you begin collecting social security retirement or disability checks. The taxpayers are supporting those employees that work for SS. They earn top wages and have gold plated retirement packages. Those SS employees are the true winners here!

  • i have a way to reduce the debt, i know it's something hard to grasp for many people, it's quite visionary actually......so, here it is.....stop the bush tax-cuts

the US has lost 2 trillion dollars of revenue, and measured over 75 years, making the tax cuts permanent would cost as much as the combined shortfalls in the Social Security and Medicare trust funds.....something most people don't consider as important unless they themselves get into a needy position.

  • @janpol123 How about this? Stop building an Empire.

  • @janpol123 Agreed:)

  • @janpol123 How about ending the wars, ending all subsidies, ending the excessive spending first.

  • 7 people are fucking dumb.

  • This is the man that needs to be elected president! Just so he doesn't become corrupted like the rest!

  • @majkdragn2

His father is running for President you can vote for him but he is Republican. But a lot of people do not care because he is just as good as his son. He is the one who brought it to the people's attention that since 1910 the Federal Reserve has been ran by a foreign bank. And he calls for the audit of the Federal Reserves they are the reason that we pay a lot for food they set the prices. Also interest on loans and credit cards 5 times amount we borrow.

  • This is the man that needs to run for President, not his father....!

  • Your number one export being debt does sound like a potential problem.

  • I am 35 and don't expect FREE money...so thus we save...plan is to bank Millions so that we can take care of ourselves. I never will understand people feeling the NEED and RIGHT to get Social Security...get Social Security is a welfare, and you should not be proud to receive it...but I do think we need to take care of people...but not everyone should get it. The guy/gal that banks millions like I plan should not get it.

  • @modette99 I agree partially with what you say. Social Security is not a right; we are not entitled to it, not should we be. The problem is that it was first created to be a safety net for people to retire on, but now it is being used as a hammock. However, if I save up my money to not rely on S.S., then I should not have to pay into it and have others sponge off what I put in. That would create no incentive for people to save if they don't get S.S. because they have too much money.

  • @4228matthew4228 By God it is a right if you have pain into it for fifty years. I paid in and now it is your turn. Quit your bitching.

  • @modette99 HUH? The people pay for SS, out of their pay check. SS is not free. Every paycheck for your entire working life the government takes some of that money and puts it in the SS fund. This is not a welfare if your paying for the service.

  • Flat tax across the board seems fair to me.

  • @s46d45m17 I would compromise with you on that. Definitely more fair than the bracketed system we have now. But, if you're curious, the consumption tax would be a little more fair to the lower class (I'm assuming you wanted more protection for them) because they will most likely consume less and, therefore, pay less in taxes. Just a thought; but I do like the flat tax too.

  • Sorry but all I can say is the truth, the wealthy buy the politicians and they make the tax rules to favor the wealthy, you can even see this in the smallest of governments like townships, I've seen the little guy not allowed to build a house but then I've seen big money realtors get whole developments started in the same place, this is the way our country works big money dictates to our government what they want and if big money wants it they get it.

  • @s46d45m17 I am not disputing that money controls a lot in the government. However, if big money is the one always taxed, shouldn't they get to have more say than the little guy who doesn't? This coming from the estimated figure that the bottom 50% of Americans don't pay taxes. I would propose you that we implement a fair tax (on consumption), then that little guy might get a little more say. It's hard for me to give someone "say" when they don't pay their fair share.

  • @s46d45m17 Why don't we rid most government and have it just for defense, roads, law enforcement? That way there is not as much whining about who pays what in taxes since it will be so minimal and everything will be privatized for efficiency and freedom.

  • Look at GE they hired 995 tax lawyers so they could get away with not paying a cent in taxes after making billions in profits last year and this is why our schools, police, fireman, roads, are in such bad shape. This is also why you have seen so many natural gas explosions because the wealthy won't spend the money to maintain pipe or valves, And as far as them passing savings on to us because they don't pay tax I just don't see it.

  • I have worked 28 years as a pipe fitter welder for some of the largest corporations in the world and have seen our government and corporations ruin lifes of good hard working people, see you believe government and corporations are a seperate thing but the are not, corp have enough money to buy their tax loop holes, they have enough money to buy rules and laws and all through lobbying (prostitution) whoever gives the most get's what they want right or wrong?.

  • @s46d45m17 Your response did not speak to any issue that was raised. If all of these businesses had such huge tax loopholes then why do they pay most of the taxes? The fact of the matter is that anything businesses are taxed on will get passed to the consumer--so we will pay it. Or, if we were to view it your way that they have huge loopholes, consumers get the break because prices will be lower on what the businesses say. So, even if loopholes were present, its a good thing.

  • @s46d45m17 Your response did not speak to any issue that was raised. If all of these businesses had such huge tax loopholes then why do they pay such a large percent of the taxes? The fact of the matter is that anything businesses are taxed on will get passed to the consumer--so we will pay it. Or, if we were to view it your way that they have huge loopholes, consumers get the break because prices will be lower on what the businesses say. So, even if loopholes were present, it's a good thing.

  • @s46d45m17 I agree. And I should also point out that the gap between the rich and the poor is getting bigger and bigger. You will have a 2 class society, rich and poor. The middle class is what makes this country run, because they are the "laborers" for the big rich corporations. When you crap all over the middle class, eventually they will get sick of it. I believe when Obama won, and Repubs lost so many seats this was the middle class election.

  • You have just described a paracite that feeds off others, and yes we all see how great our economy and workforce are these days when the wealthy keep getting more and more, it is a fact that the wealthy do not care for people only money and power and would sell out their mothers to get it, wake up and quit idolizing the wealthy, if it was different our job's would stay in this country instead of going overseas for child labor and our schools and services would have tax money to operate.

  • @s46d45m17 You speak of wealthy not caring. That has to be one of the largest generalizations I have ever heard. I'm sure some one sell out their mother, but so would many poor people. And you can't say that the economy gets worse and worse as the wealthy get more because they haven't been getting more. They were taxed extremely high and then got breaks from this. They didn't get more; they had less taken from them. And, as for jobs leaving, see my next comment because it is too long for this.

  • @s46d45m17Businesses leave because they are taxed so high. It is cheaper for them to leave. Put plainly, its a business, not a charity. They are trying to make money and when foreign companies can do it for cheaper (pick your reason: high taxes, unions, cheaper labor), we must compete. Cut taxes on the businesses, they stay here, have cheaper products, more will be purchased and revenue will increase. The free market works; government just needs to step aside.

  • I am so glad this man got elected. I don't live there, but I contributed to him.

"The most powerful force in the universe is compound interest"

    Albert Einstein

  • You politicians should make big corporations start paying their fare share in taxes instead of kissing their asses to further your financial futures, this country was supposed to be for the people not just politicians and the wealthy, do your job work for the people and not just you all politicians should.

  • @s46d45m17 That's it...let's tax the big bad corporations and the wealthy. Firstly, businesses do not pay taxes. Anything they "pay" gets passed on to the consumer. I don't know about you, but I don't like double taxation. Secondly, taxing the wealthy just leaves them with less money to invest, hire, and keep prices low. Don't know about you but I like innovation, lower unemployment, and less inflation. Plus, it's hard to get a job from a poor man.

  • @deficithawker Epic fail.

  • Wayne root, rand paul 2012 baby!!!!!!

  • Richvillegal1, You are missing my point. We are borrowing money from China to pay for corporate wars and bankster bailouts. Cutting social security is theft from American citizens to pay for corporate interests. Soon, even China will not buy our debt. The Federal Reserve will be the only entity left to "purchase" U.S. debt. Not because of social security. Go to my website HammeringTruth. Facts are facts. I am for the truth wherever it may lead.

  • To the Gentleman who disagrees with Rand Paul's presentation. IF our government both Democrats and Republicans would have never borrowed from the fund we would not be having a problem today. But to pay China two trillion a year we will never see the light of day. I'm guessing the gentleman has never been bankrupt. I know what its like. You have no references, nothing. We have to let them do something. Not stick their heads in the sand. Like our Leader does.

  • I am a BIg Ron Paul supporter. I am very disappointed in Rand Paul's presentation. He misleads many into thinking social security is broke. It is not broke. The 2.6 trillion dollar Social Security Trust Fund has been raided by republicans and democrats alike. Trillion dollar wars and trillion dollar bankster bailouts are the problem. I am no fan of social security but I expect the truth. HammeringTruth

  • Most money taken from taxpayers is spent on military and WAR. End the fucking wars now. The reasons given by Bush and Obama are lies, lies and more lies. Everyone knows that the Iraq war is based on lies. So is Afghanistan, Pakistan and Libya!

  • Rand Paul.... sounds like a kindergarten teacher. Summary of first two minutes: We shouldn't spend any more money than numbers that are bigger than I can imagine. Well I have news for you, Senator: We have a big country, it has a lot of people, and a lot of money. So if you are going to join the big league Senate, you are going to have to start counting in big numbers!

  • Disappointing that he pussies out of just suggesting we dump it altogether, which is what needs to be done. It's an immoral, unsustainable system that's a stain on our society.

  • Rand Paul 2012

  • Stop foreign aid, all of it, stop tying to save and "dumbmocrize" other countries, that would go along way to helping THIS country.

  • If we stop borrowing and printing money to give to OTHER countries, get our ass out of their country,,problem solved.

  • What happened to all of the MONEY that the baby boomers put in thirty years ago...it was spent in other ways...student loans that were never paid back..and god knows what else...has anyone done a study on how much money would be in the account today if it had just been collecting interest and not squandered.

  • Don't let the illegal immigrants get into our social security. They never worked a day here and they never paid anything into it like the people of America did. Please don't let them into it. There are to many people getting ssi that really don't need it also. They need to really check all the claims on that too. It's taking away from social security also.

  • Rand Paul is getting to work, this is what he was elected for, good shit.

  • Is Joseph Stalin walking in the background within the first minute???

  • Just get rid of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Food Stamp problems. Problem, and debt crisis solved.

  • @Nulaak83

If they get rid of Social Security how will the Seniors live let me guess you have a lot of money so it does not matter to you. How could you be so cold hearted? Besides these Seniors worked and put that money in for their Social Security it is their money not the Government.

  • @jacval60

Nope, I don't have a lot of money I just got out of a college a year or two ago to join the "workforce" with no good available jobs. Those seniors have gotten plenty of their money back through the various other cradle to grave entitlement programs out there. If that's the case, then just give each senior out there their SS money back and get rid of the program, but we can't do that because that would put our national debt over $20 trillion. Just let us opt out.

  • @Nulaak83 What about the warfare culture?

  • @charleshoskinson

That's another separate issue, but both of the Pauls are non-interventionists. Keep your nose out of other people's business, now that Osama is dead there's no reason for our troops to be anywhere in the world. Imperialism is what caused the British to drop out of being a World Power, and it's doing the same to the US.

  • China is no longer buying our debt - Ben is printing. I wonder if Rand will ever be truthful about this...

  • At 9:15, he states he supports a means tested SS. I have been saving 10% for over 30 years and will do so for another 10. I never went in debt other than my mortgage, never splurged or bought expensive toys and was fiscally responsible. My partner was just the opposite, spent more than he had and took out his retirement early. The result is that I will probably get penalized for being responsible and he will get rewarded for being irresponsible. Means testing punishes those that planned.

  • A violent torpedo of truth!

  • Ha ha - someone said that SS is an entitlement.

Social Security is NOT an entitlement. It is FORCED from your pay check, STOLEN, w/out your choice.

I'm really enjoying the leap of Libertarians into the ignorant world of masses. Time for us to enlighten these people who think people's lives need to be controlled. It's too bad we have to masquerade as R or D to get there.

  • amazed that so many still are confused into mixing democrats against republicans!FOOLS!!! Thaye are the same!!!! Bought and paid for by the same elite off shore banking cartel that control ALL governments.............

  • Isn't it so wonderful just how many of our elected Sens. find it important to be at the place of Con. mesdetings to do their job?He is speaking to an empty chamber. This number of the elected Senators being present while they are in session is a huge insult to all Americans. This is yet another reason that details the simple fact that they could care less about anything except themselves. Rest assured if you could see what they are doing at the same time, they are lying to you or asking 4 more $

  • If the United States is unable to pay the interest it owns to the Social Security Trust Fund doesn't that mean the United States is bankrupt?

  • How about the government repaying all the money they borrowed from Social Security with interest. It never should have been borrowed in the first place. It was supposed to be our retirement and the government dipped into our funds. It's time they paid back what they had no right to borrow in the first place. Social Security is not an entitlement. Would the government borrow from everyone's 401K's and IRA's. Let them try it and see what happens. Pay back what you STOLE now.

  • @Diane8088 Absolutely! and well stated. Americas Social Security money was "borrowed" aka stolen by our government and not returned. .

  • WOW! One man in Washington gets what America Used to be all about.

  • If you are an ignorant anti-semite, or racist, please stay away from the debate. J. D. Rockefeller? J.P. Morgan? White protestants both...

This is about greed and power. Not Jews, or Gnostic Messiahs, or aliens, or whatever the fuck you are dreaming up in your delusional world. If you really believe in Evil, wake up, then remember this:

"Indeed in nothing is the power of the Dark Lord more clearly shown than in the estrangement that divides all those who still oppose him."

    — J.R.R. Tolkien

  • Why for people under 55 years old? Why not pick 58, 60? 56?

  • Another consideration for raising the the SS retirement age: WE ARE living longer, no thanks to ziotic Big Pharma, the FDA BS'ers, or the Med Mafia. But we are and for a few decades thanks first to the Supplemental Nutrient Industry, and then to acquired knowledge for personal healing through the internet. And by avoiding at all costs patent killer drugs and vaccines. NEXT, we NEED the manufacturing jobs BACK FROM CHINA. People retire because jobs are worthless and it is PLANNED SO by ZOG & JWO

  • There is no shortage of money, and NO usury debt to the jew banksters at the unconstitutional rapine FED. Research into CAFR, comprehensive Annual Financial Report, cafr1 dot com, and cafrman dot com, to learn how much YOUR state holds in hidden trust earning compound interest, and reports only to the FED and the DC Latrine. BILLIONS that should be returned to the people. Each Calif person is owed 100K right now, after clearing alledged 2 Billion 'deficit'. Jail ZOG and the bankster thieves!

  • Don't ever forget, it was the moronic scum in this country who've voted for Democrats since 1912 that have given us this massive entitlement state.

  • Social security is not an entitlement! The money came from "YOU" and your "employer" and the government has held it interest free your entire working life, however the gov. collects interest on it. The real question here is; Where would we be if the government had never raided the SS coffers? Just a frickin thought?

  • @1951abcd Hey where can I get the Blunts you're smokin?

  • @vince33x From the SS TAX he paid all his life into the coffers that incumbents STOLE for their selfish purposes. You pay on it today, you will raise hell in so many years when you reach retirement age if anybody wants to touch it or steal it. They created the system, they pay for their enslavement now. SS was a savings system by worker and employer, not bureaucraps. The money belongs to the SS recipient.

  • @debalazo If SS were such a good idea, why wasn't it voluntary? The "they" who created SS were Democrats under the Presidency of FDR aka "F-ing Democrat Roosevelt."

  • @1951abcd There is a constant drive to remove the SS and STEAL all monies (on ledger only by now) paid BY US and our employers, NOT the friggin government. A worker pays more than 40 years into SS, all his life, and now some moron wants it done with? Other people work only 10 years and still get SS. But they all PAID, it is not a gift or entitlement. If people researched on Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), gov 'keeping' tax BILLIONS in hidden trust, they would revolt. Pass on.

  • @debalazo It most certainly IS an entitlement because what a person paid in and for how long has no bearing on what he may or may not take out.

Again, if SS is so great, why ain't it voluntary? Answer the question.

  • @1951abcd we would all end as millionares.

  • Is not about getting rid of any form of government. Is about decentralization, competition and efficiency. Administrations must compete too. The only country where the central government has nothing to do with more than 2/3 of spending is Switzerland, not America. A country with low federal taxes (swiss federal taxes are very low) allows more competition at local level.

  • Doing anything "gradual" to social security just won't work because it's simply unfair. No matter how you look at it, it's just not fair to make adjustments for the younger to get less. You can either cut if off completely or let it die on its own, but you'll never be able to pass a "fix" for social security because the fact is entitlement programs just don't work.

  • @dossa002 you should understand that social security won't be MANDATORY. Ron Paul has already said; social security will be a choice made by a person as almost everything. nothing will be mandatory. For people who want to keep using social security problem, the program needs to implement Rand's theory to keep it even.

I personally won't use social security since it's essentially saving for my retirement. But hey we can't force to use or to not use. It's a choice.

  • @Pledius If we're talking about RON Paul, I'm pretty sure his stance is to eliminate it altogether because if I want to invest for my retirement, then I get a 401(k) so the "option" is already there. In terms of this plan to make it optional, good luck. If you give a person the option of take x% of my paycheck out every month and then we'll pay you $y after you turn 65, chances are people who will actually need it will opt out. Social Security is mandatory for these people who don't save.

  • @dossa002 yes Ron Paul wants to get rid of it, eventually or so he said. But he also knows that people who were into this system so deep that they have no other way to get out such as people who are already elder that planned their future based on social security payment.

so yes soon or later social security will disappear. But we also can't just ignore the people who(mostly elders)are already too deep into this. Rand's giving them time to plan the future with gradually increasing time

  • @Pledius I understand that phasing it out would be easier and maybe it's harsh to cut everyone off, but while it might slightly benefit the needy, its just extra money for the majority of people who collect. It's pretty much just a reward for living long enough. Either way, the system can't go anywhere. My point is, I doubt anyone can pass any legislation to change SS because it's unfair. You can either admit defeat, apologize and end it or it will die itself. The collapse will be much worse.

  • someone is so blind and asleep they hit they thumbs down by mistake.

  • Social Security is really not that hard to fix and isn't in any sort of crisis. There a many factors that can be changed to fix SS easily.

Medicare and Medicaid on the other hand....oofta!!!

  • The one person who disliked this video thinks there is nothing wrong with the Social Security Ponzi Scheme system and that U.S. Treasury Bills are as good as gold.

  • @moonraven3 Treasuries are actually better than gold. Gold prices are very volatile. Treasuries are not.

  • @worldnewsbbc1 When you adjust for inflation (real numbers, not government cooked CPI), you actually lose money in treasury bills. The price of gold is much more reliable in this context.

  • @worldnewsbbc1 You are somewhat correct; one *might* lose money with gold. On the other hand, with Treasuries one is *guaranteed* to lose money. That much is a safe bet. They pay you 3% and inflate the currency at 10%. This math doesn't work for me.

  • @UBSCARED Social Security is NOT an insurance plan and has been identified as a Ponzi scheme by members of Congress for years. You either don't understand what a Ponzi is or you don't understand Social Security. I suspect both. Name calling, by the way, doesn't make you right, just annoying.

  • Truth.

No more hope & change & unicorns with rainbow vomit.

    Time for REALITY

  • I thought Rand was against class warfare, Means testing is just the politicians taking money from one group and giving it to someone they deem more deserving. How about sharing the sacrifice by cutting across the board by whatever percentage needed. That way we can reinforce the values we should be trying to instill in our youth. . It's crazy but they refuse to see it for what it is, reward those who live irresponsibly by punishing those who strived to do the right thing.

  • Rand Paul is a nutcase. Anyone who says that the Treasury Bonds held by Social Security are any less secure than bonds held by the Chinese or bonds held by large hedge funds like PIMCO is just a liar and thief. He would rather pay the Communist Chinese than repay the American workers!

  • OMG, Rand Paul is talking about facts! Does he know that he is in the government? Where did he BS dog and pony show go? Where are the lies. Where are the say one thing and do the opposite behaviors. "Bold Leadership?" Obama has been the biggest hypocrite to every be in office. He constantly talks about being conservative in our spending and thinks that 1% cut in spending should be applauded. We need to kick that liars out and bring in truthful people that actually understand MATH!!!

  • its funny to see people talking about "austerity" measure when they themselves are not going to be affected by these actions at all. the only people who are going to be affected by these "austerity" measures are the people who are already living "austerity" lifestyles. the rich are going to keep on getting richer and the poor are going to keep on getting poorer and the ones in the middle are going to be pushed further into the void. what country do we live in again?

  • @BeingNobody1956 Not cuba.

  • @jaimondrow maybe not now, but wait until these people get done destroying us and then get back to me.

  • @BeingNobody1956 So, we should ignore mathematics and wait until our dollars become worthless and everyone is in the streets? Oh, the rich against the poor. The rich don't deserve anything. The rich should have all of their money taken away, even if they earned every penny. The poor people need our help. They can't take care of themselves. Help, Help. Oh, the rich are evil and live on easy street everyday.

  • @BeingNobody1956 Rand Paul isn't "Rich". He is an eye doctor. He went to college. He worked hard. Is everyone that is doing pretty well evil? Give the guy cheap shots because of what? He studied hard. Is a smart guy. Doesn't waste his money, so he is the evil rich boogey man!! The problem with people like you is you don't know what the real problem is. You just see rich people doing well and start taking cheap shots. How about the truth. How about solving the real problems.

  • @BeingNobody1956 quit trying to make this about class. the whole country is broke. If we don't make these "austerity" fixes we will all suffer the consequences. you want to sacrifice the future for the short-term. the rich create jobs. the poor spend recklessly. Im poor and i know this. if you tax the rich they'll leave, then who'll be here to hire the rest of us? government? they need someone to tax in order to keep things going and if the rich people are gone its over. your envy is destructive

  • @suitabledude i dont have any envy.. I dont care what material crap people have in their house. the fact taht you say the rich will leave tells me one thing. they dont care about America, theya re out for number one. even though they make enough money to live a thousand lifetimes like royalty they are putting the blame for this on the poor. they dont care about you, or me or America. the poor are not responsible for this. the government is who stole money from these funds, not the poor

  • @suitabledude the majority of the really wealthy in this country are not people who create jobs. they are people who make money off of other people success. they dont do any work themselves except sit at a desk a few hours a day speculating. you say the rich will leave if they are taxed, but until Bush agve them these tax breaks that just ran out they stayed didnt they. now they are spoiled by the break Bush gave them even though they knew there was a time limit on those breaks

  • @suitabledude these people are manilpulating us and you dont get it. they are holding this country hostage like it belongs to them. there have always been tax brackets. when i made $30.00 an hour I knew that if i worked overtime I was going to pay more taxes but I didnt sit and bitch about my taxes. I find it pathetic that people who make enough money to live like these people live have the audacity to whine about taxes. they are not even going to feel it. its all about pride to them.

  • @BeingNobody1956 - My taxes don't belong to the government. They belong to me and are taken by force. If you don't miss the money, great. The rest of us do miss the fruits of our own labor. To the extent government is necessary, it must be paid for, no question but income taxes are the very WORST way to do it. Paying for Ponzi schemes, such as Social Security, is just abominable.

  • we love ron paul and rand paul

    from UK London

  • @hyylo Send money ;-)

  • When mentioning Jesus was alive a billion hours ago, he used that Southern Pastor drawl, hahaha

  • if you take social security and disability from people who are currently receiving benefits you WILL have a crisis. you will have unprecedented poverty in this country. crime will skyrocket. and you KNOW this is true. it will turn this country into a third world nation

  • @BeingNobody1956 That's where we are headed anyway, by design.

  • @BeingNobody1956 No one is saying JUST CUT IT. So stop posting that bull.

  • WOW!

  • FULL DISCLOSURE IN ALL WAYS RELEVANT. eat raw food and detox, and we wake up more. chemical food blinds people.

  • Of course its a threat to our future! That's the whole idea!

  • Get rid of all entitlements, nobody is entitled to anything, you must work for what you have.
