The irresponsible spending by this naive halfwit actor of a president is wrecking the country faster than imaginable. Obama's $3.6 trillion plan is a "higher-tax, weaker-economy, fewer-jobs" blueprint. Major industries have become dependent on fed assistance. With Obamacare exceeding 2 trillion dollars it will destroy the system entirely. As for Obama, he has spent more borrowed money than every ex-President put together. Obama is not being honest. He is destroying Capitalism and the free market
Not only has the stimulus not worked & the economy not been rescued, the President continues to promote policies that will create more unemployment in America. The national energy tax that went through this House last month will cause millions of Americans to lose their jobs over the next 10 years, at 2.5 million per year. And we're debating the health care plan, the government takeover of health care that costs trillions and adds about 7% to the health care tally.
The stimulus has indeed been working and current plans will lend to further stimulus and job creation. Similarly, the United States already spends far more than others due to the wastefulness of the current system than it would under a more efficient Universal system. Canada spends something like 10% of their GDP on it; we spend something like 17%. So we an inefficient system (and one which is suggested to be remedied with a healthprogram that's similar to what Nixon proposed), which needs afix.
The government has allocated more than $200 billion in aid. Since the plan began, however, the recession has left an additional 2.2 million Americans without jobs, according to Labor Department surveys. The economy continues to shed hundreds of thousands of jobs and a higher unemployment rate. The program has been ineffective. Christina Romer said that the economy is not meeting the Obama administration's expectations.
Obama & Kennedy will screw up healthcare. We all know that they would never take part in a government program.
Almost 39 percent of the 45.7 M uninsured are in FL, TX, NM, AZ & CA (border states). 9.7 million are not citizens. 14 million are eligible for existing gov programs (Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, veterans' benefits) but have not enrolled. And 9.1 million have household incomes of at least $75,000 and could purchase insurance. Those last two cohorts are more than half of the 45.7 million.
has everyone forgotten this guy murdered a young woman never called for help just took a shower and called a lawyer and people get bent out of shape when someone speaks the truth f**ck kennedy!
Way back when the bridge incident happened he spoke on tv two weeks later to explain what happened. I saw just before men of courage first walk on the moon. He was nothing like them or his three older brothers....and I did not believe him when he said he tried to save Mary Anne. He just walked away drunk and thinking about himself.
Now he is pushing Health Care. When Oba told a woman her 100 yr old mom should take a pill - Ted gets pref treatment. Seems all r equal Some r more equal than most.
the woman who died in that car was named Mary Jo; not Mary Anne. If you're going to try and have even just simple facts about the people who were involved that night.
i am asking a serious question, and by saying i've never been schooled is a simple device used by you just to dismiss me and dodge my question. Sen. Ted Kennedy said it is time to reform the nation's health care system, so what about that merits his imprisonment? i have watched the video and I don't see anything that merits that. So, again, i ask you, why do u think he should be jailed? I just want to know, and I am not trying to get into a scuffle with you
He authored or argued for legislation that ensured a variety of civil rights, increased the minimum wage in 1981, made access to health care easier for the indigent, and funded Meals on Wheels for fixed-income seniors
I am not saying he is a saint. I mean that as a politician he has done some good. As a man of character? He is probably a douchebag. But who can really know everything for sure?
Crap the first half of my comment was deleted or misplaced. i just wanted to agree with you that he did get away with tehe crime leaving a scene of a car crash. I looked all that up and found out that even though he was found guilty, he didn't serve jail time. In that aspect, yes, he should have been convicted
Actually I think lack of government regulation propelled Health care companies and insurance companies to massively inflate prices, since they had free reign and had no one to punish them
Medicare and scial security were in fact government based services, yes. Bush was to blame for alot of their misfortunes, especially when he cut a wide range of drugs and medical devices used to treat people who are elderly or disabled. I do think this new administration will be better than Bush, though not perfect. I am not for a complete government takeover, just more regulation to keep costs down and to make sure there are no shady dealings or unfairness
Things definitely need to change. I do agree with you on that! I do not like the change the new administration is making. I don't believe that the bailout is a good decision. Let the companies that should have bankrupted because of their greed and bad policies fail. The bailout will only make things worse. Honestly, how does Onama and the Democratic party stand by all the pork project bills if our economy is in such a bad state?
Agreed the bailout isn't a good decision. The government is trusting rich CEOs to just give the money to lesser workers and those affected by foreclosures, when in fact they've spent it on bonuses and private jets. Why give money to those who caused the problems? I voted Obama, but i don't necessarily agree with his stimulus package. But Barack Obama made the claim at least twice on Feb 9th that the stimulus bill had no pork in it. It was Congress that added the pork and they were wrong for it
The pork is going to all the people who supported and campaigned for Obama. As far as the foreclosures go I know and I knew what was happening long before it happened. These banks and homeowners, both, should not be getting bailed out with our tax dollars! This economic climate and collapse is the biggest scam in US history!
I am not sure if the pork is going to Obama supporters per say, but I get the feeling its to appease interest groups or to make certain politicians--in congress especially--look good. I actually wanted the stock market to crash. Why bailout rich guys who gambeled and lost? Where's my bailout for my student loan which is unrealistically expensive given we are a western and progressive country--supposedly. (will continue on another comment)
I agree that many homeowners should not be bailed out for taking out loans that they couldn;t afford. Its common sense to only buy what u can afford. But many were mislead and lied to, or didn't know the full legal ramifications of what they were getting into. Those unfortunate people should be helped. But the banks themselves? Hell no. Ur right, never in my knowlege of US history has there been so much shady dealings at the expense of the taxpayers
Have you ever been to a real estate closing? Everything is explained to the buyer before, during and after by the banks, the realtors and closing attorney.
I assume that everything is explained yes, and it is up to the home buyer to know certain things too. What I was especially angry about though in this one vid I watched was when, in predominantly spanish speaking communities everything was explained in spanish on paper but not the catch. I have the vid if u want.
Also, in regards to mortgages, what about when mortgages just balloon and maintaining the payments is harder and harder? Is it the homeowner's fault or someone elses? Just asking
Also, what about inexperianced potential buyers who don't know anything about how mortgages work? Will the realators explain everything in minute detail so they can understand what they are getting into? There could also be cases of misleading such inexperianced people
Ah ok in that regards, since I've never dealt with mortgages and realators, I will have to take your word on that. But still, I just wanted to ask about when mortgages just balloon and maintaining the payments is harder and harder? Is it the homeowner's fault or someone elses?
I know what I'm talking about and would not mislead you on this! A lawyer is present and prepares the closing documents! He would be disbarred if he or she lied to the client about the documents the buyers were signing. Each mortgage page is explained throughly and all questions are answered in truth. The buyers sign every document with FULL knowledge of what they are agreeing to. Please stop making excuses for something you obviously have no experience or knowledge of. Thanks.
Buddy, I am not making excuses. i am just asking because I don't know much about mortgages as i have never owned a home and I assume you have more experiance in this. Just asking and discussing a matter with someone is all, sheesh. Now I have a better understanding. I still don't necessarily agree with everything you said, but I do agree with you on alot of things. I respect you as I suppose an opposite opinion on a matter. Both sides should be discussed in any situation and they were. Thanks
Edit: I realized that I had said thanks at the end of my comment and you had also with yours. Please don't take that as me mocking you. I really meant it when I said "Thanks". I do enjoy hearing differing opinions just so I can get a bigger picture of things. Sometimes I hear a differing opinion and actually change my stance based on if its convincing enough
What I have told you is from experience. I promise you that I am telling you the truth. There is no point of making this information up just for the sake of being right. Thats not me. I don't lie. You can draw your own conclusions. I just don't like my fellow Americans being taken adavntaged of. Take care. Its been nice chatting with you.
Yeah I dun like my fellow Americans being taken advantage of too. Something has to change, but me being a simple, small person I dunno what to do. Ah well, yeah it's been good chatting with ya. Bye
Now is the time for this drunk to get on his knees and pray forgiveness for murdering MJK. This is one of the biggest bloviating bags of hot air in Washington. He does not have the moral authority to force universal health care down anyones throat.
I take it that you understand what universal healthecare is really about. Its an end to privacy and it will bring a national database with every Americans genetic code and history. In summary its and end to privacy. Its a violation of the
4th amendment. With all the new legislation the left is trying to pass it won't be long before they write a new US Constitution.
Exactly, which is why this is so hypicritical. Kennedy and those like him were so up in arms about FISA, and recording conversations between possible terrorists as being unconstitutional, yet a national database keeping track of every pimple, hemroid and ingrown toenail of each citizen doesnt faze em. These jerks could care less about peoples healthcare costs. They just want a piece of the healthcare revenue.
take a look at medicare's history. You'll find hundreds of cases of abuse & fraud. We don't need the government extending their power over us. They can't even handle their own affairs much less ours.
4) That the money contributed by the participants would be put into the
independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program, and,
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put away' --
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party
Q-Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants that moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments!
Neither I nor this nation will be lectured to by a murderer. An ensconced member of the Ruling Class, old Teddy has never been held accountable for the mischief he has created. Hopefully, he will repent before death. God is not impressed with human pedigrees.
Yeah it needs reformed, but really... now is the time? How about we wait until we fix the stupid economy first? I have to have money for the hospitals and insurance sharks to take it.
1. He was caught cheating at Harvard when he attended it. He was expelled twice, once for cheating on a test, and once for paying a classmate to cheat for him.
2. While expelled, Kennedy enlisted in the Army, but mistakenly signed up for four years instead of two. Oops, the man can't count to four. His father, Joe Kennedy, former U.S. Ambassador to England (a step up from bootlegging liquor into the U.S. from Canada during prohibition), pulled the necessary strings to have his enlistment shortened to two years, and to ensure that he served in Europe, not Korea, where a war was raging. No preferential treatment for him like he charged President Bush
3. Kennedy was assigned to Paris, never advanced beyond the rank of Private, and returned to Harvard upon being discharged. (Imagine a person of his "education" NEVER advancing past the rank of Private.)
4. While attending law school at the University of Virginia, he was cited for reckless driving four times, including once when he was clocked driving 90 miles per hour in a residential neighborhood with his headlights off after dark. Yet his Virginia driver's license was never revoked. Coincidentally, he passed the bar exam in 1959, amazing!!!
5. In 1964, he was seriously injured in a plane crash, and hospitalized for several months. Test results done by the hospital at the time he was admitted had shown he was legally intoxicated. The results of those tests remained a "state secret" until in the 1980's when the report was unsealed. Didn't hear about that from the unbiased media, did we.
6. On July 19, 1969, Kennedy attended a party on Chappaquiddick Island in Massachusetts. At about 11:00 PM, he borrowed his chauffeur's keys to his Oldsmobile limousine, and offered to give a ride home to Mary Jo Kopechne, a campaign worker. Leaving the island via an unlit bridge with no guard rail, Kennedy steered the car off the bridge, flipped, and into Poucha Pond.
7. He swam to shore and walked back to the party, after passing several houses and a fire station. Then two friends returned with him to the scene of the accident. According to their later testimony, they told him what he already knew, that he was required by law to immediately report the accident to the authorities. Instead Kennedy made his way to his hotel, called his lawyer, and went to sleep.Kennedy called the police the next morning and by then the wreck had already been discovered.
Before dying, Kopechne had scratched at the upholstered floor above her head in the upside-down car. The Kennedy family began "calling in favors", ensuring that any inquiry would be contained. Her corpse was whisked out-of-state to her family, before an autopsy could be conducted. Further details are uncertain, but after the accident Kennedy says he repeatedly dove under the water trying to rescue Kopechne, and he didn't call police because he was in a state of shock.
It is widely assumed Kennedy was drunk, and he held off calling police in hopes that his family could fix the problem overnight. Since the accident, Kennedy's "political enemies" have referred to him as the distinguished Senator from Chappaquiddick.
He pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, and was given a SUSPENDED SENTENCE OF TWO MONTHS. Kopechne's family received a small payout from the Kennedy's insurance policy, and never sued. There was later an effort to have her body exhumed and autopsied, but her family successfully fought against this in court, and Kennedy's family paid their attorney's bills... a "token of friendship"?
8. Kennedy has held his Senate seat for more than forty years, but considering his longevity, his accomplishments seem scant. He authored or argued for legislation that ensured a variety of civil rights, increased the minimum wage in 1981, made access to health care easier for the indigent, and funded Meals on Wheels for fixed-income seniors and is widely held as the "standard-bearer for liberalism"
In his very first Senate role, he was the floor manager for the bill that turned U.S. immigration policy upside down and opened the floodgate for immigrants from third world countries.
9. Since that time, he has been the prime instigator and author of every expansion of and increase in immigration, up to and including the latest attempt to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. Not to mention the pious grilling he gave the last two Supreme Court Nominees, as if he were the standard bearer for the nation in matters of right. What a pompous ass.
10. He is known around Washington as a public drunk, loud, boisterous and very disrespectful to ladies. JERK is a better description than "great American".
Let's not allow the spin doctors make this jerk a hero -- how quickly the American public forgets what his real legacy is...
Actually socialism isn't such a bad thing. Capitalism created an out of control balance of power--95% of the wealth is in the hands of 5% of Americans. there are aspects of socialism that can equalize the differences between the haves and the have nots. However until we take back the government and act locally to effect a real change in DC, the middle or lower middle classes {which are quickly vanishing} will suffer. I am tired of people just using words like socialism when they haven't a clue
I don't consider myself a liberal, and why are you so ferverant about this? labeling people doesn't really solve the problem. For instance, calling someone a "liberal" (because he or she opposes a view point) as though its some stigmatic word like "devil worshipper" is just a way to dismiss a debate without actually presenting a counter view. Nothing is black and white, there are shades of gray to everything and every aspect must be explored for real change to happen
Liberalism is a broad class of political philosophies that considers individual liberty and equality to be the most important political goals.
Even so, why is a "Liberal" bad? Why is a "conservative" ? I think we should rule on an individual basis as to what rule of thought is best at the time. Liberalism is good and bad depending on the situation at hand
Then they are not true liberals. people are human beings and can be corrupt. They say they are one thing but do the opposite. Like...lets say for example, a Christian can say they are devout yet do aweful things. They are hypocrites, but their actions are not sactified by true Christianity. True philosophical liberalism is not bad. It's the people who lie, cheat and get corrupted. Any political label is actually not bad, but again, people distort the true fundamental values for their own gain
As soon as cancer was found, I noticed the immediate attempt to Canonize old Teddy by the mainstream media. They are saying what a "great American" he is. I say, let's get a couple things clear and not twist the facts to change the real history.
Healthcare starts with pulling Mary Jo out of the car & trying CPR

Why not require Congress to have the exact same health benefits as the rest of the CITIZENS of the USA???
SirWinstonChurchill 2 years ago
Funny, congress is full of thieves, corrupt individuals, liars, socialists & even communists ... so why NOT a murderer?
Might as well, ehhh?
Now we have Nancy Pelosi's complete 'ethical' congress in tact.
Hard-working hypocrites getting(finally!!!!) their
well deserved 'porkulus' money for their districts. This should help re-elect them for their next term until they die in office.

cause there democrats, its the party of anything goes,
Kennedy, frank, rangle etc. they all get a pass.
but if they were republicans .....oh boy.
I also blame the FOOLS (some of whom who have no more business voting) for keep electing these asswipes.

Now is the time for this drunk to get on his knees and pray forgiveness for murdering MJK. This is one of the biggest bloviating bags of hot air in Washington. He does not have the moral authority to force universal health care down anyones throat.
karen32862 2 years ago
I take it that you understand what universal healthecare is really about. Its an end to privacy and it will bring a national database with every Americans genetic code and history. In summary its and end to privacy. Its a violation of the
4th amendment. With all the new legislation the left is trying to pass it won't be long before they write a new US Constitution.
Nickk361 2 years ago
Exactly, which is why this is so hypicritical. Kennedy and those like him were so up in arms about FISA, and recording conversations between possible terrorists as being unconstitutional, yet a national database keeping track of every pimple, hemroid and ingrown toenail of each citizen doesnt faze em. These jerks could care less about peoples healthcare costs. They just want a piece of the healthcare revenue.
karen32862 2 years ago
take a look at medicare's history. You'll find hundreds of cases of abuse & fraud. We don't need the government extending their power over us. They can't even handle their own affairs much less ours.
Here's a perfect example-
Nickk361 2 years ago
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary,
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program,
3. ) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year,
Nickk361 2 years ago
4) That the money contributed by the participants would be put into the
independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program, and,
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
Nickk361 2 years ago
Now we are getting taxed on 85% of
the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put away' --
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party
Q-Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants that moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments!
Nickk361 2 years ago
The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!
This is why I laugh when the liberals blame conservatives and want more big government.
Nickk361 2 years ago
No that will never happen, because its as you said, illegal. They wouldn't do that so don't worry about any invasion of privacy

Neither I nor this nation will be lectured to by a murderer. An ensconced member of the Ruling Class, old Teddy has never been held accountable for the mischief he has created. Hopefully, he will repent before death. God is not impressed with human pedigrees.

1. He was caught cheating at Harvard when he attended it. He was expelled twice, once for cheating on a test, and once for paying a classmate to cheat for him.
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
3. Kennedy was assigned to Paris, never advanced beyond the rank of Private, and returned to Harvard upon being discharged. (Imagine a person of his "education" NEVER advancing past the rank of Private.)
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
Before dying, Kopechne had scratched at the upholstered floor above her head in the upside-down car. The Kennedy family began "calling in favors", ensuring that any inquiry would be contained. Her corpse was whisked out-of-state to her family, before an autopsy could be conducted. Further details are uncertain, but after the accident Kennedy says he repeatedly dove under the water trying to rescue Kopechne, and he didn't call police because he was in a state of shock.
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
It is widely assumed Kennedy was drunk, and he held off calling police in hopes that his family could fix the problem overnight. Since the accident, Kennedy's "political enemies" have referred to him as the distinguished Senator from Chappaquiddick.
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
He pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, and was given a SUSPENDED SENTENCE OF TWO MONTHS. Kopechne's family received a small payout from the Kennedy's insurance policy, and never sued. There was later an effort to have her body exhumed and autopsied, but her family successfully fought against this in court, and Kennedy's family paid their attorney's bills... a "token of friendship"?
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
In his very first Senate role, he was the floor manager for the bill that turned U.S. immigration policy upside down and opened the floodgate for immigrants from third world countries.
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
FrankieD2000 2 years ago
10. He is known around Washington as a public drunk, loud, boisterous and very disrespectful to ladies. JERK is a better description than "great American".
Let's not allow the spin doctors make this jerk a hero -- how quickly the American public forgets what his real legacy is...

Beats me! I gave all your comments thumbs up so there must be some socialist sympathizers around here.
TECHKLEC 2 years ago
Actually socialism isn't such a bad thing. Capitalism created an out of control balance of power--95% of the wealth is in the hands of 5% of Americans. there are aspects of socialism that can equalize the differences between the haves and the have nots. However until we take back the government and act locally to effect a real change in DC, the middle or lower middle classes {which are quickly vanishing} will suffer. I am tired of people just using words like socialism when they haven't a clue
RedNymph234 2 years ago
Liberals. Never tell the truth to a liberal! Thumbs down every time.
GiovannaNYC 2 years ago
I don't consider myself a liberal, and why are you so ferverant about this? labeling people doesn't really solve the problem. For instance, calling someone a "liberal" (because he or she opposes a view point) as though its some stigmatic word like "devil worshipper" is just a way to dismiss a debate without actually presenting a counter view. Nothing is black and white, there are shades of gray to everything and every aspect must be explored for real change to happen
RedNymph234 2 years ago
You may not consider your self a liberal but you speak as one. A rose by any other name is still a rose!
GiovannaNYC 2 years ago
Liberalism is a broad class of political philosophies that considers individual liberty and equality to be the most important political goals.
Even so, why is a "Liberal" bad? Why is a "conservative" ? I think we should rule on an individual basis as to what rule of thought is best at the time. Liberalism is good and bad depending on the situation at hand
RedNymph234 2 years ago
My experience with liberals and their own actions are against the fundamental values and traditions of what this great country was built upon.
GiovannaNYC 2 years ago
Then they are not true liberals. people are human beings and can be corrupt. They say they are one thing but do the opposite. Like...lets say for example, a Christian can say they are devout yet do aweful things. They are hypocrites, but their actions are not sactified by true Christianity. True philosophical liberalism is not bad. It's the people who lie, cheat and get corrupted. Any political label is actually not bad, but again, people distort the true fundamental values for their own gain
