Education isnt everything, I have been in for 11 1/2 years now and work on multi million dollar aircraft ejection seats, been to 11 countries, did 7 cruises on a carrier(two war cruises), made some of the best friendships, givin responsibility that very few could possibly comprehend, was part of something bigger than myself, have a family, and got a college education.

It is sad to see the youth of today are not able to access higher levels of training and education, as evidenced by some of the posts here. However, serving in the military is a noble, selfless avocation for which few have the strength and courage. I applaud all who serve and wish that people would get the facts straight rather than ranting. You are sorely mistaken about the road to a commission and E-2s can not recruit. hey I'm just joined the navy! yay! hey if you get a 50 or better on your asvab and you sign up for active duty then you get the navy college fund which is i think a $15,000 kicker to your GI bill. Your recruiter was an E-2 when I join I'll out rank him im going in as an E-3.

You don't "automatically" become an officer. You still have to go to Officer Candidate School, and a shit ton of officer training. They are going to just hand you rank bud....

When I walked by the Navy recruiting station near Van Mall a recruiter actually physically walked out of the station and asked me... "Excuse me son... Could I perhaps interest you in a job in the Navy?"

Army has the largest number of recruiters in their office, but none of them know eachother there its pretty sad.

At the Marine Corps station they all know eachother pretty well.

Dont know about the Air Force I havent spoken with a recruiter.

Im joining the navy in australia for honour and duty. and to protect the waters from terrorist activities.

its either one or the other your a civilian or your in the defence force.

next video you make think about who you talk about specially people who are protecting your country.

Good luck in college, do the civilians proud, but stay out of the defence force till you have learnt what they are there for.

I respect what militaries do, but I am against how they are used. I think the United States abuses their military the most. I am against the Iraq war and believe that our President should be held responsible for all the military and civilian deaths that have occurred. If I was to join a government agency that would risk my life, I would have signed up to be a firefighter. To be clear, I support our military wholly, but cannot support how our President has used them. Have fun in Australia mate.

Not every college grad becomes an officer when they join the military. There are plenty of requirements(including mental, unfortunate for you) you'd have to meet. Having a 4-year degree w/ a certain GPA in a certain field of study is just one requirement. Do some research before you put yourself on the internet like that. BUSH LEAGUE

they did not do a drug test on me when I went into the recruiting office to meet them. I went in only once, so I would say it's okay if this is ur first time going in.

Actually the airforce has the highest expectation and to get into the army you need a 31 dee dee dee and the other branches go to alot of army school and the other branches promote slower dee dee dee's

To qualify to receive college money for the NAVY ROTC you need an SAT score of 1050 or 22 on the ACT. For the Air Force ROTC it's 1100 SAT or 24 ACT.
