  • these guys used to play at my church camp wheni was a teenager i had the biggest crush on John haha, and yes they rocked then just as they do now, now my kids are listening to them i feel so old

  • its so weird, like when i listen to this song, im back in like thev early 90's even though i was born in 1997, so weird, but that must be how powerful the song is.

  • What happened to skillet? They need to write more stuff like this.

  • im a HUGE skillet fan and i didnt even know about this "Hey i Love your soul album" and this song so beautiful

  • SKILLET---"MORE FAITHFUL"

  • MY FAVORTIE VIDEO OF ALL TIME

  • wow i love this song, even though i was like 1 year old when it came out it just makes me remember stuff for some reason.

  • best skillet song ever! No questions

  • Holy smokes! The only member that's still in the band is the singer.

  • This song is amazing. It's rare to hear a song that moves you like this one does.

  • I do not believe in Jesus in the Christian sense. But the beautiful lyrics of this inspired song add to my belief that time and space are of no consequence to our Creator, and that the historical man 'Jesus' was filled to overflowing with creative love, truth and justice. When we accept his message and act upon it we too can receive the same positive energy/spirit and become ambassadors of true peace and change in our suffering world.

  • Wow look how young john was!!!

  • oh i said point. The inspiration to the song....ugh.... i need more sleep. i still love old skillet. I had a hard time adjusting to the new additions later but they are still good.

  • The point of this song is a reaction to the death of mother of the lead singer of skillet if anyone wants to know the background to it. If i remember, she died of cancer and the process was obviously difficult for cooper

  • I saw them perform this song at kingdom bound and since that day they have always been my favorite band. This song just hits so hard home for me. It brings me to tears every time i hear it and i just want to go back to that moment at kingdom bound so bad. God bless them!

  • Woah........... John Cooper (i think thats his name) looks so.... woah....young....different...weird. COOL! :) he will always look cool to me :) i will be sad when he dies as will everyone else

  • hahahahahahaha he looked so weird then :P Still love skillet tho

  • i like the newer skillet =/

  • This is a good song i relly like it one of my fav slow songs by skillet!

  • This is a good song i relly like it one of my fav slow songs by skillet!

  • This is a good song i relly like it one of my fav slow songs by skillet!

  • LOL, is this skillet,

  • looking back, its hard to believe they aer teh same band, theyve changed so much

    theyve always been awesome though

  • @ScreamingXEagles Not always hehe, I hated the "Invincible", all but one song on the debut, and the "Hey, you I love your soul" album. But, once "Alien Youth" came out, that was when they started to get good.

  • OMG john is sooooo young in this vid!!! this is great i had never herd old skillet until now

  • I don't know if it is showing it this way for you guys, but if it shows a bunch of random comments for me in a row, those were actually meant to be replies to you all's comments. I posted them as replies, but it moved them to regular comments, for me anyway!

  • The same thing happened to me on a different Skillet video. God Bless!

  • this song reassures me. it rights the wrongs that life has done to me.

  • Yeah, so good! I'm happy for that

  • @kattabrained Hmm I don't really see it. I interpret the song at face value; to give God thanks for being more faithful than anyone else could.

  • this is a cute song!! never heard it be4!!!

  • john almost smiles in the last chorus.

  • The story behind this song is SO powerful! It really helps me when I get in situations that would cause me to forget.

  • Yeah I love when songs do that for you, Skillet really does it for me a lot :) God bless em, He uses them so well

  • @deanuh70 Is it now? Can you fill me in? I wasn't informed this song had any story.

  • Bless SKILLET god, and continue to bless them long long time!

    Amen.

    <3

  • i wish they would play you are my hope at one of their concerts, like ichthus thats coming up in five days. im goin to be there everyday until it ends, its goin to be awsome!!! GO ICHTHUS!

  • Does Skillet perform many of their older stuff live? (As in first three albums)

  • They do actually. They used to play I Can off their first album as late as 05, but the past few years. They do however still play Best Kept Secret and Angels Fall Down off of Invincible (Angels Fall Down is also on Ardent Worship). They occasionally will play You're Powerful off of Invincible as well, though I haven't seen them play that since about November 07. They could bring back older stuff at any time though.

  • I hope so. Have you ever heard of the band Rush? They've been a band for 35 years, and they play music from all their albums at concerts.

  • Dude I would LOVE to hear "I Can" live. I would also love to hear "Alien Youth" live.

  • Well I don't think Alien Youth will be brought back. I Can, you never know

  • I saw Skillet play a couple months ago and they only played one or two of their old stuff...and they weren't this one.

  • Yeah if it was a few months ago I'd say they oldies you heard were Best Kept Secret, and depending when you saw them, either Angels Fall Down or How Deep the Father's Love for Us

  • Well, I saw them in middle of August, and the oldies they played were "Best Kept Secret" (a VERY hard rocking version of it, though) and "Jesus, Jesus (Holy and Anointed One). Everything else was Collide, Comatose, and Awake.

  • wow he looks so young :L

  • naaaw, cutest song.. <3

  • so beautiful i love them so muc ^w^

  • i love this song, my fav from skillet.

  • must buy HEY YOU I LOVE YOUR SOUL album !!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song thanks for uploading this vid...

    †Phantom X11†

  • John should play piano more often. He's GOOD!

  • Well the problem with him playing piano live is that it would take away from the amount he could play bass, which is actually why Korey joined the band to begin with! But yes, he is very good! Plenty of God-given and well-used talent!

  • I notice on the songs when John plays piano, the bass is simple so they could do without. The band Rush had the same setup: Geddy would sing and play bass or keys, but only one instrument at a time. Korey certainly helped round things out and fill in the gaps. Now does she play ALL the piano parts live? also, does she or John play on "Come My Way" from Alien Youth?

  • Well John used to play bass and piano, and Korey joined on piano so John could focus on one instrument. But, I don't know who played the piano on the record for Come My Way, cause there's footage of them recording Comatose (I believe it was in The Older I Get video) where John played piano in the studio. Whether he plays on the record or not I don't know. I'm pretty sure Korey handled all the piano on Awake.

  • I love Skillet! i like the old skillet and the new skillet although they are very different.

  • nice

  • this song is so great and the story behind it makes it even more amazing!

  • such a "pretty song"!! :D

  • wow. Skillet is a whole new band -_-

  • haha I love Skillet and John Cooper but he would sound a lot better if he didn't sing so high. Skillet should remake More Faithful, Saturn, I Can, etc with the current band. They could make a whole album with just remade old songs, that would be awesome!!

  • Skillet!!!

  • It's amazing that this band also made "I Can", both awesome songs and so different from each other.

  • Not to mention all of their Alien Youth songs being so different from Collide and Collide in turn from Comatose.

  • just think bout thier new album!

  • love it

  • This is their most beautiful song.

  • I love this song!!! It is amazing!!!

  • daaannngg.... the band keeps changing.

anyway, john is cute... :] I luv him.

  • here lyes my FAVORITE vocalist, guy or girl, girl being Lacey Mosley of Flyleaf

  • flyleafs good 2 but their bassist is no where as good as John Cooper (for those of u who dont no who that is thats the lead of Skillet).

  • omg

    this is original skillet

iv never herd or seen them b4

iv only herd an seen the new skillet group

  • Well scooby, they're still the same band because John's been there throughout the band's whole history.

  • yeah, but iv only heard john korey ben an jen

not john an the other 2 guys

  • Don't forget Lori!

  • i love skillet they rock and i always listen to them they are officially my favorite band ever!

  • Most interesting: comments on his hair rather than the music

  • I love this song! Thanks for posting it!

  • I personally think john than or now. Its still the same. He is a really good looking man of God.

  • I wonder if that guy meant the original Skillet of 1991 as John's old band from before Skillet.

  • cool to see some of their old stuff. 5 stars

  • Great Song! skillet has always been great!.. JOhn lo0ks so go0d; he has earings! lol..he's so cute

  • Ha, yeah some girls like him but of course guys like Korey, Lori, or Jen so no love for Ben I suppose, lol.

  • John looks so hot in this video:)

He doesnt look so great during the first album and the blonde hair from Invincible - Alien Youth was a little hippy lol. now he looks absolutly AMAZING:)

  • John always looks amazing no matter what. he looks great w/ black hair and blonde hair. i happen to like hippy.

  • first skillet song i have ever head and it still amazing.

  • I've just now realized that I've heard this before, but never knew it was Skillet...good song

  • there style changed sooo much from hey you i love your soul to comotose omg i love the wispering in this cd though

  • I love the whispering too.Coming down has to be one of my favorite Skillet songs.

  • ummm.... this isn't a newer song nor is it a worship song. this song is from 1991 from their first albumn and it was before the women joined the band. this was the FIRST skillet. same singer, different musicians :)

  • Actually this is from their second album, 'Hey, You, I Love Your Soul" (1998). Their first album was self-titled and came out in '96.

Cool fact about this song: the chorus answers questions from first song, 'I Can', on first album: "...are you really more faithful than the changing of the seasons, and the morning sun...". They're just a better rock band than most out there. Songs like: I Can, Vapor, Forsaken, Fingernails, Better Than Drugs, etc. These guys will rock your face off!

  • Whoa I never caught that! Good call! God bless their cleverness. :)

  • A) it isnt their first album.. "Skillet was"

    B) its from 1998.. they didnt form until '96

    Btw.. im 12:)

  • Well 12 year old

    A) No, it is simply called "Skillet"

    B) What is from '98? This album is, but their first is from '96.

  • lol

yea i put "was" in there by accident

this song is from the album released in '98. "Skillet" their first album was from 96

More Faithful is not on "Skillet"

  • Yeah I think we all just got mixed up, let's not make fun everyone. :)

  • yea its on the cd hey you, i love ur soul

  • no its on hey u i love your soul cuz i own that cd and its on there

  • wow, i just saw them. they sure have changed, but hey rock no matter what!

  • Well all their albums are rock albums basically, this one just happened to be a slow song. It is great though!

  • i love this song. always have, always will.

  • classic yo

    thx for posting this on

  • skillet is the best^!!!

  • i love this song

  • I own Skillet's entire discography. HYILYS was a sweet album. Trey looks so weird in this video. It's the glasses I suppose.

  • Hey, I didn't know about the song being written about his mother, thanks for sharing. He does indeed have a strong Faith that he shares in his songs.

  • John looks cute here, but not his hair....that's got to go!

  • Ha ha, his hair is different now, though it was okay here just the same I guess.

  • John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

if you know Christ, copy and paste this to alot of videos.

  • hey i can't find hey you, i love your soul on here, or your love keeps me alive, that sucks, anyway skillet rocks, God BlessA.M.R.

  • From what I understand, John Cooper wrote this song after his mom died of cancer when he was 14. He said it at one concert...really inspirational!

  • Love this song!

  • Awesome video, it is one of their first ones. And going along with what a previous viewer posted on another Skillet video, I'll post this as well:

    John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

if you know Christ, copy and paste this to alot of videos.

  • I like the song too myself. "Hey You, I Lover Your Soul" and "Invincible" are their only albums I don't have, I have the other 5. God bless Skillet!

  • lucky, i don't have any i just have some of there songs on my ipod

  • They sell all 7 of their albums on their website, check it out if you can!

  • I remember this song. It brings back so many memories. John Cooper looked so different then.

  • Quite a difference from the band's meteoric nu-metal now, isn't it?

I still pop in the "Hey You, I Love Your Soul" CD whenever I'm feeling industrial. I recommend it to "Comatose" newcomers.

  • Love this song...thanx for posting, bro.
