The thing with Seinfeld is that there was not ONE character I disliked throughout the entire series... every character was hilarious yet likeable at the same time. Curb is exactly the same, however I find that some characters really get to me (Susie and Cheryll become annoying at times for example). Seinfeld is definately #1 but Curb a close 2nd. The best 2 tv shows in history, no doubt about it IMO.

Superb Show - I like this far more than Seinfeld. I'm from England and so I hadn't heard of Seinfeld up until I first began to watch Curb in 2003. I started to watch Seinfeld to see the similarity. It was ok, I don't like laughter tracks so that put me off...and I don't like the music on Seinfeld - but maybe thats just due to the time it was made. I understand why people adore it though. But Curb is so innovative and clever and is simply genius - up there with The Office (UK).

Well i probably did but hadn't acknowledged it. You know when you learn something and then you seeingly hear it everywhere afterwards. Seinfeld was probably talked about when I was a child and young teenager except I just didn't think to myself 'Whats Seinfeld'. I'd probably heard of it but not known what it was. The majority of the people I know either have never heard of Seinfeld or more commonly HAVE heard of it but just haven't seen it. Also Seinfeld isn't shown on British TV.

@BranVan10k Seinfeld was never shown regularly on English Channels like Friends and a lot of other U.S shows were in the 80s/90s and later on Curb was, so would be easy to not know. Particularly as other than a couple here and there a vast majority of U.S shows are piss poor in comparison to the rich number of great Shows England produced in the same time period. People are generally lazy and watch what is freely available they don't go 'hunting' around for the better quality shows.

Yeah, I suppose. The thing is this: Curb Your Enthusiasm is huge in America. However, In England, you have to be really into comedy in order to have found and watch Curb. If you're in England and you're English and you say 'I am a Huge fan of Curb' , only a small percentage of the public and Critics watch it. It is a Cult comedy in England. Let me put it this way - In order to watch Curb on TV, you have to go on a channel that normally shows Documentaries at 20 past 12 in the morning

As with most comedies where you can hear laughter there is a live audience yes. However in editing for TV they add laughs in such as if a joke didn't get a laugh when the producers want there to be, if a laugh sounded strange, if the laugh was loud enough or didn't last long enough, etc. Now whether 100% of the laughs on Seinfeld are 100% real, we don't know, we can only assume laughter tracks were used at some point.
