SPOILERS: Two major drawbacks -> boss fights(except for the last) and endings. While by first playthrough 1 felt like taken out in he world during "final choice room" and extremly special, after second playthrought I was a bit dissapointed - even in DX:IW you had to play the entire last level from specific point to unlock ending, not simply press the button.

What i dont like about the laser system is, doesnt matter what you have chosen or not chosen, there is always a way to get thorugh it. I just wish there was a time in the game where i was actually forced to not go a certain awesome route because of that. I mean everybody got cloak eventually and that took care of the laser bars. I mean geez i remember in Deus Ex back in the day, when there were lasers in the sewers they were HARDCORE!! none of that oh i am invisible BS.

@beejep Well, they said that your augmentations would be disabled and you would probably have to earn them back through the DLC. You might have them, but you would start off without them.

@zaldare There a few references to the original Deus Ex, but nothing so significant as to make a new player confused.

Just forget about Deus Ex: Invisible War. That's a bastard child in the series and nothing in there is considered canon. So Deus Ex: Human Revolution is basically the second installment (plus a prequel to boot, so it'll be easier to follow).
