  • It's clearly Paul Simon's song -- listen since the S&G days ... Cool cover though

  • ...nice....green shirt

  • is paul there too or is t just david.

  • I'm happy to see David Byrne likes this song probably even more than I do. :D

  • Aw, yeah, this is awesome :D. I love this song, cool to hear David give it a go.

  • It's cool. He looks like he is having alot of fun! 8)

  • awesome

  • What a great tribute between the two people who did the most to bring afro-beat into the mainstream.

Even though the sound quality is not so good as what you can find by P Simon, I think I like Byrne's rendition.

  • Well, David and Paul have a connection: Brian Eno worked as producer on Paul Simon's album "Surprise". If you haven't heard it, do your ears and mind a favor and pick it up sometime. Very much worth a listen.

  • This is absolutely wondrous, XD. Despite the bad video quality and sound quality. He's almost preaching it like he did with "Once In a Lifetime". This video is truly the best of both worlds, David Byrne and Paul Simon.

  • yeah, too bad about the sound/video quality... but this is still a lot of fun to watch and doesn't sound all that bad. I had read that David had done this song and was very happy to find it here!

  • I would love to see PAUL SIMON sing a DAVID BYRNE song. What would that sound like? I mean Burning Down the House or something...ha.ha.ha.

  • Wow, David couldnt F those lyrics anymore. Oh well.

  • this song is byrne-esque, lyrically and musically, gotta wonder if it's a simon product at all....

it's like obama, i wanna see the "birth certificate"!

    i love byrne and simon...

just wish this vid had better audio...

  • I did see Paul Simon do this song. Simon can't be beat but I love unconditionally Dave.

  • Comment removed

  • The song is very Byrne-esque.

  • "you can call me betty"

    first chorus

    oops david! :D

  • Haha, WHOOPS. He says it more than once XD. SHAKE THAT THING, DAVID. 8D

  • i was at this show! best concert of my life.

  • WOW when did he paint his head white?

  • Oh my god, my favorite artist singing my second favorite artist's song? What! Too bad it's not a great quality. I would kill to be there. I'm so mad at how much David Byrne tickets were in California. Ridiculous!

  • .....There were "incidents" & "allegations" hahahahahahaha.

  • isn't that strange that some people who don't knwo who david byrne is are so ready to smack-talk him? and those that know and love his work are so ready to defend him? i think the lesson here is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    old lesson, learned again.

thanks for all the comments gang..

  • if u don't know who that is you are a f cking retard

  • What asshole are you talking about because there is only one person singing and that person singing is a genius? And actually there is no hope for you if you can't identify how he changed music with Talking Heads, they were making music using african influences and polirythmic styles way before Graceland.

  • byrne and simon are my two heroes, i love them both

  • These comments reflect the public's opinion of David since he started. You either hate him or love him. I love him!!!

  • The difference for me is, I would actually pay to see David Byrne do this live than Paul Simon.....without a thought!!

  • Byrne butchered You Can Call Me All (Sun nite was there...) - but he rocked 'I Know What I Know'

  • I was at this show on Sunday and while just about all of it was incredible, David Byrne brought down the house with these two songs. From the moment he walked onstage and tried to sing backup with the two women, the whole place came alive. He hasn't lost his touch, that's for sure. Thanks for posting - couldn't get this performance out of my head!

  • David seems tired and old... :-(

I'd love to have seen him do this song about 15 years ago...

  • i would disagree. i love david - but he doesn't know how to sing this song at all. the rhythm, the melody, all wrong, even the words. the man sounds like he has no soul.

  • and you are????

  • Byrne stole the show! Thanks for posting!

  • Thank you SO MUCH for posting this. I've been looking for footage of it since I was at the same concert as you on Friday. I love this version of the song. It's really surprising how lyrically similar it is to a song that Byrne would write himself. When he sings it, it almost sounds like a lost track from Talking Heads' "Naked" album.

I hope this entire concert gets a legitimate DVD or CD release. It was just exceptional.

  • Hey you're right, it could be straight out of Naked. Sounds good.

  • im the one who told her to bring her camera to tape this, all thanks are belong to me!

    muwahahaha!

  • haha its true! but the idea of posting & sharing was all me.

  • Hahaha! Well thanks to both of you. :)

  • Hey Gavin - congrats on your rock and roll car!!!!

  • Thanks mate! It's going well now - who needs gas anyway? :)

  • Maybe soon your car will run on nothing but flowers?
