Given that the USDM 8G had to be modified to be LHD, and went to macpherson strut front suspension instead of retaining the multilink front of the JDM models, you can see how there could be a delay with being released into the US.

japanese years are off.. 7g galants here are 94-98 but in Japan are 92 to mid 96 the the 8g here was 99-2003 and there is was late 96-2003. 6a12 2.0 in the 7g... 6a13 2.5 in the 8g

you can get the 3000gt VR4 motor and swap it into the newer Galant. The USDM Galant have all the tunnel for the AWD setup.. you can buy all the parts for it and swap everything onto the USDM Galant. But that will be a lot of work..
right, but the 97 vr4 was the first year for the 8g in japan. the US didnt get the 8g til '01. so its highly unlikely that it was just an engine swap.

not true as the 3000gt vr4 6g72 faces the opposite of the 99-03 galant 6g72, but you can put a 6a13tt galant vr4 motor in, but the tunnel isnt wide enough to fit both and much custom work is needed to make both fit

I miss mine.... Mine was the 10/2000 1991 alpine white. :( I miss it soo much....I wish I turn back the hands of time and get it back... :(

well i sold mine a couple months ago.. sat in my mom's driveway doing nothing for over a year. dont have the time and money to get it running good again. had to part with it.. was truly a sad day.

A new Galant debuted in 1992 (model year 1994 in America), available as a four-door sedan and five-door A Japan-only hardtop derivative called the Mitsubishi Emeraude was also launched in 1992.
Because the Lancer Evo was now Mitsubishi's homologated rally car, the seventh generation VR-4 became a less overtly sporting vehicle, eschewing the old four-cylinder engine in favour of a smoother two litre V6 twin turbo.
Production in the United States began on May 24, 1993 in Normal, Illinois.

I Live in Brasil and i got a Vr4 8g (Model from 1998). It's the best car i ever drive. :) I love it and love to drive it everyday ! :)

It's JDM 8g Galant VR-4 that was never sold in US. They were bulid in Japan from 1996 to 2002.

on my island they were sold till 2006 so please if u don't know what ur talking about its better to shut ur mouth then look like a "stupid know all about" type of guys

first year of the galant vr4 in america? you're joking right? they've been around for some time. my friend has a 94 vr4 and i know for sure that they've been here since atleast 91

pay attention idiot.. Its the first track appearance of the first and the only 8gen galant Vr4 in the US.. Let me slow it down for you 8gen refers to the 8th generation or years 1999 to 2003. Show me a pick of a 94 galant vr4 in the US please or introduce me to the owner..
