We are a cash rich country with a large population which is a perfect recipe for prosperity but look at the services, the condition of housing in the countryand policing where has all the money gone?
We say we are lucky to live in the UK but look how the government treats any protests or demonstrations in this country, always with over the top policing and extreme violence, the thought of Britain being a free and developed country is a myth. Just getting by and up to our eyes in debt is what the government wants so we cant stand up and protest because we have too much to lose.
I live in the states, but I get what you're saying. I dunno, maybe Ed was just bored with England, I think lots of people get like that, and forget how lucky they really are.
In comparison to some other countries we have it really sweet here. It's just, Britain is so boring. The people (myself included) have been taught from birth to be relatively boring, fearful and reserved, and to blow off steam people just drink and take drugs and do the same thing over again. I completely agree with Ed, I'm sick of Britain, I've lived here for 18 years and it has NOTHING left for me.
