When you have a solution to to the problem come back and tell us what it is you just want your 15 minutes of fame if you had a family you would be worried about providing for them all you all have to provide for is your shit buckets and weed, if you really loved these mountains you would be out in them to see what is really there, there is not a coal miner in this state that don' t love the mountains and the wildlife, go back to your own states and sit in a tree there! I was born in Pikeville, KY. My family lived in Appalachia for centuries. I have family members buried on mountains just like these. It's one of the most ancient ranges on the planet with an incredibly rich habitat, and it's being destroyed. Forever. Future generations will curse us for this if we allow it to go on.
The alternative is to mine coal responsibly underground and develop cleaner burning coal technologies as well as pursuing other clean renewable energy resources. NO MORE PERMANENT MASS DESTRUCTION OF MTNS! -- a WVian.
You small minded moron - all the folks I know, that are not WV residents, that protest what you loosely call mining are originally from WV!! I want to retire to the mountains I love, not the toxic plateaus you are creating! I knew every creek, peak and valley of the county I grew up in, now, it's getting harder to recognize with every visit home! Your attitude won't allow for the possibility to even discuss alternatives 2 this destruction! When theres nowhere left to hunt or fish, sorry 4 u!
Don Blankenship is a dweeb - knew him when he was a kid...he was a dweeb then and is a dweeb now. Surface mining is a stupid way to mine coal...we don't need to kill the earth to live on it!
Dave Cooper came to my area. I have his presenation on MTR on tape. I will be putting it on youtube soon at channel imaginepeace63. I have to put up a second speech by Bob Boman first from 2008. Then I will do the MTR thing.

While I believe there is room for reasoned debate about all energy sources, I feel that mountain top removal is an abomination that must be stopped.
