  • I love the album too. But I miss Binary Star more.

  • @thejavon7466 Doom's a dope rapper but I personally feel like there are lot of rappers that can compete with him and are better than him

  • Great review man, I watched your Vaudeville Villain review and enjoyed that as well. Good work, and I appreciate the more analytical and cerebral approach that you take to the albums. You earned my subscription.

  • I subscribed because I fucking loved this guys word choice!

  • Doom is an artist that's hard to like at first. Like I didn't like him at first but I gave him time. There are people who thinks he the best rapper alive... I don't agree with that but he's still pretty good

  • You know it's underground when some white dude does the album review.

    DUDE MORE REVIEWS !!!

  • i hate how my cd has the advisory sign on the dam cover art just messes up the perfection

  • Awesome review, I love this album too!

  • wow this is pretty tight!! thanks man i look up to u and jumblejunkie for music!! u for hip hop and alternative music and jumble junkie for metal!!

  • Love this album. Two masters like MF DOOM and Madlib coming together just could not have made a bad album.

  • Why did you stop reviewing? bring it on bro... also open RYM account

  • this is by far doom's best project and i cant wait for the second one

  • hiphopdx.com/index/interviews/id.1331/title.doom-shadows-on-the-sun

  • so you know i heard you mention that he talks about performing live but doom has stated on the record that he has only performed 1 show as doom. usually he has someone else go in his place that is just rappin over the recording. just a fun fact heres the article

  • the closest anyone's come to it who isn't actually in madvillain is mos def. the ecstatic was by far the best (one of the only great) albums of 2009. mos flipped his style. like this guy said about madvillain, it takes a while to immerse yourself in, but once you do, the albums are amazingly addictive, much like Quasimoto's The Unseen. And, similar to DJ Shadow, theyre not albums, they're landscapes.

  • Awesome reviews :) going to subscribe hehe

  • MAdvillainy is by far one of the best albums.

  • Missed this review, this is definitely my favorite MF DOOM related albums and one of my favorite hip hop albums period. His other project Dangerdoom was pretty good too

  • this album has some serious replay value. i love how the tracks are mostly short, keeps it fresh and interesting.

anyway, thanks for all the reviews man. you're the only other person i've seen who's actually heard of Burning Star Core, The Trees Community and Madvillain at the same time. keep it up.

  • Can't wait.

  • Have this on vinyl, I bust it out at least once a week. Possibly Doom's best album and one of Madlib's best imo

  • @richard06891

Don't forget he's also DJ Rels.

  • was this album so raw that it put you at a loss for words for five days?

  • Hahaha, nah. I grew a cold sore and didn't want to immortalise it in a video.

  • Most flawless album I've ever listened to.

  • i wouldent describe dooms word play, or any rappers rhymes cause it kinda takes out the fun.

  • Now we are talking! when I smoke weed and listen to DOOM I am in his world

  • I love getting blunted to DOOM.

  • Hey, what would be a really good old school sounding hip hop group? One where it sounds like a bunch of dudes sitting in some old ghetto backyard with a fat snare drum and lots of turntable-ism... any recommendations?

  • Ever try out Pharcyde ?

  • Oh my god! That's pretty much exactly what I was looking for... thanks man!

  • I love this album, though I find it takes repeated listening to get into. When I first heard it, I thought meh...MM Food is better, but now, this is definitely at least on part with that. And I really liked the fact that it was short, didn't have anytime to go wrong.

Can't wait for the supposed Madvillainy 2 this year!

  • It took a while to grow on me, too. I liked MMM.... Food ? as soon as heard the track Hoe Cakes. That shit cracked me up on the spot.

  • Yeah, that track is so fucking immediate.

And Deep Fried Frenz is also a badass song.

  • Haven't been on in awhile and then I see this on my front page. Great review and video to come back to. Love this album.

  • Nice, are we expecting more videos from your ass soon ?

  • lol, yeah real soon. I'm gonna make a video today or tomorrow, then get to making them reguraly. Shit's just been a little crazy lately.

  • you're back!

  • Sounds like an awesome album.

  • GOOD ALBUM

  • AWESOME review man!!! I've been thinking of this album all week, All Caps is my favorite song.

  • I like Rhinestone Cowboy.

  • Classic album. Madlib is one of the freshest producers out. This album pretty much got worn out on my end since I brought it 6 years ago. If you make music and haven't bought this then you lost.

    -TheGreenDutch

  • Wow I might have to get this, I love me some underground hip hop. I loved MF Doom's spot on the Gorillaz album, but I've not heard any Madlib.

  • welcome back

  • Tripping off the beat kinda, dripping off the meat grinder

Heat niner, pimping, stripping, soft street minor

China was a neat signer, trouble with the script digits

Double dip/bubble lips, sorrow less midget

  • Boderline schizo

    Sorta fine tits though ...

  • This album turned 3/4's of my hip-hop collection to shit. Love this record!

    Welcome back mutafucka.

  • nice review man mf doom is my favourite rapper his amazing, nd id say this is his second best album ever (2nd to operation doomsday) chek it out if u wana get into doom brother, id also recomend mm food to u (if u havnt got it) anyway keep up the good work dude tc

  • Got 'em all, buddy.

  • amazing album. the next madvillany better be something great if its taking this long to put out

  • by the way i dont think any other doom album can compete with these beats.

  • great review thanks man

    classic album

I'm glad some people know about real music

  • This is a classic album, I just listened to it the other day for the first time in awhile. Madlib's sampling and production on this album is all over the place and so inventive, and Doom is obviously one of a kind when it comes to the rhymes. I am really anticipating the follow up.

  • Me too.

I wonder what took them so long.

  • The Cold Vein next? I think The Cold Vein is even better than this..

  • You're back!!!!

    I was starting to worry.

  • Wow, was expecting a 5/5 from you HotPhilly. Honestly it sounded like a classic the first time I listen to it. Always wondered when you were gunna review this one too. Good to have you back!

  • I just nixed it half a point because of some of the skit / spoken word shit. Plus, it's rather short. Barely over half an hour.

  • You're baaaaack.

I love this album. One of the few hip-hop albums that I've really gotten into.

  • That's good.

  • lol how stoned are you....one of the dopest albums of all time.....didnt you ever hear the madvillainy remixes, madlib reworked the beats, pretty nice, but yea, doesnt feed the hunger...STACY EPPS, she is amazing, check out her stuff....WHAT???, you didnt like it right away blasphemy...you need to check out OPERATION DOOMSDAY if you havent, its pretty rare, but there are copies out there, all of mfs other projects are pretty dope aswell

  • Hahaha ! I wasn't stoned. I could never do a review high.

I did check out some Epps while this was uploading. Reminded me a bit of Georgia Anne Muldrow. And I'm 99% sure I have everything DOOM has put out, including Doomsday.

  • great review man. my favorite hip hop album of the 2000s.

  • LOVE this album. Madlib and DOOM, you can't go wrong.

  • True dat.

  • just downloaded this album thanks... damn where have u been for 17 days?

  • I broke a piece of my headphones off in my sound jack thing. I had no sound on my comp so I just got a new computer. My old one was a piece of shit compared to this one anyway.

  • HE'S BACK!!!! YESSSSSS!

  • lol wow i was just listening to this a few hours ago.

  • Haha. Me too.

  • welcome back. Missed seeing your vids.

  • Thanks.

I'll try to get regular again.
