No celica on earth pulls this hard with just intake, exhaust a chip and a tune. NONE of them, not without forced induction and internal engine mods. He either speed up the video or is going down a steep mountain. Gear shifts are little too fast, and pitch is too high. Only way this is real is with very very fast shifts and Nitrous
That's how GT-S celica's sound with with a straight through exhaust + CAI. Mine isn't too far from this on my stock ecu, so with the power fc this guy had and the weight reduction, I don't doubt it's validity.

Um based on this video it takes him roughly 10 seconds to get to 100 mph. That doesn't equate to a high 13 second car. Plus the car doesn't sound like a gts it sounds more like a motor cycle. Also I know that all motor gts can make 190 whp n/a and can run high 13's na.

My car used to be a bit faster than this one. I have a completely gutted GT-S (no rear seats, no panels including side door panels, no carpeting, no sunroof metal/mechanism, sometimes no front passenger seat, no sound insulating material, no tar(pain to take out)) and at one time with just a short and straight section of pipe after the CAT. LOUD and bad for cruising since you have little torque at low loads. but incredibly fast at full throttle.
Since I got a cf hood, I said what the heck and cut a hole in my stock hood to give air directly to my custom short ram intake. That was just an experiment, and though I didn't take any measurements this system seemed faster than using the AEM CAI.
and no, you don't have to "butcher" your all-motor car to be decently fast. A turbo or nitrous will put you in the 13s or 12s, seriously tuned into the 11s. do a search for "evoanon celica" or "monkeywrench celica." That is what's the possible if you know what you're doing.
he has not speeded up the video. 1st and 2nd gear accelaration is the same as my stock celica, i think that when he gets to 3rd the road starts to slope downhill thus adding to the accelaration.

Adosdrummer you're a dumbass first of all he was not sitting at 4k rpm he was cruising at 4k rpm and just cause an engine has intake and exhaust doesn't mean is loud and since your not familiar with the 2zz engine let me help you out, you hear the intake more than the exhaust but only when its fully open at 4k rpm 1st gear doesn't take much to keep it there therefor is not as loud.
actually, i think it is fake.... i didnt at first, but i watched it like 4 times and i noticed that he was sitting at 4k rpm and he def would have an exaust and intake if he was actually that fast, so his car would have been making much more noise at 4k. and when he floored it he had no bogging or hesitation

ya hes right LIFT is Toyota's form of VTECH. it packs that extra punch at high rpms. the VVTL-i kicks in at or around 4-5K. thats why the GTS have such horrible low gear torque because they only have that top end rush. the lift bolts can break and its reccomended u replace em early to prevent that
What your trying to say is "VVTl-i is toyotas form of i-vtec" vtec is equal to vvtl but vvtl as far as i know is non existent besides in the intelligent form. The lift bolts break in the pre-03 form. Only 00-02 have to worry about that. Lift engagement is at 6 to 6.2k.
actually even with the new style bolts, it will not prevent them from breaking... Let's just say, those new style lift bolts will last longer. Speaking of that, i need to check mine.. Recently changed it to the new style lift bolts 1 yr ago..
Rev limiter is 8450 people. Ivan, the engine is made to be able to go up that high. You need to remove your tampon next time you go for a drive and get to fuel cutoff.
the turbo's are made for that kinda abuse tho. while i wouldnt necessarily push it past 8 like that, it still can pull well into 7.5-8 and the LIFT sounds beautiful! great vid
ya lol i thought the GTS all were outfitted with a 1.8L Turbo but unfortunately i just recently learned that its only the valve angles that are slanted which give the pistons more room to fire giving it "lift". toyota shooda put a turbo on the GTS from the factory it be a fucking rice rocket then
The video is legit, but this guy definated screwed around with the safety specs on his car. You're absolutely NOT suppose to rev the engine to 8500+. The Celica's fuel cuts off at 8350 rpms, and after 2002, Toyota reset the cutoff to 7800 rpms. You rev it any higher than that, then expect to rebuild your engine every 15,000 miles.
Sounds like a bike? Could it be that the engined was Co-Developed by Yamaha? You know, the superbike company? I own the the car as well and it has the same sound when the lift kicks in. This guy has some crazy mods done to a swapped engine though.

uh yeah your so wronge. the gt doesnt have the vvtl-i. its runs 135 hp with no ove drive with a zje where as the gt-s runns a zzje vvtl-i. the same motor in the gt is the same in the scions. there garbage.

No its not sped up. Look at the rpms when the guy puts it in neutral, its not falling down rpm quickly! Also the camera isnt shaking super fast, and also when the person does the first gear shift u see the speedo going down a bit normaly.

The people who claim it is a fake video are idi*ts. This is a fully tuned all-motor GT-S making 190 WHP and 2500 lbs weight. It runs high-13s on the dragstrip.

Um based on this video it takes him roughly 10 seconds to get to 100 mph. That doesn't equate to a high 13 second car. Plus the car doesn't sound like a gts it sounds more like a motor cycle. Also I know that all motor gts can make 190 whp n/a and can run high 13's na.

My car used to be a bit faster than this one. I have a completely gutted GT-S (no rear seats, no panels including side door panels, no carpeting, no sunroof metal/mechanism, sometimes no front passenger seat, no sound insulating material, no tar(pain to take out)) and at one time with just a short and straight section of pipe after the CAT. LOUD and bad for cruising since you have little torque at low loads. but incredibly fast at full throttle.

Since I got a cf hood, I said what the heck and cut a hole in my stock hood to give air directly to my custom short ram intake. That was just an experiment, and though I didn't take any measurements this system seemed faster than using the AEM CAI.

and no, you don't have to "butcher" your all-motor car to be decently fast. A turbo or nitrous will put you in the 13s or 12s, seriously tuned into the 11s. do a search for "evoanon celica" or "monkeywrench celica." That is what's the possible if you know what you're doing.

he has not speeded up the video. 1st and 2nd gear accelaration is the same as my stock celica, i think that when he gets to 3rd the road starts to slope downhill thus adding to the accelaration.

Dude the GTS doesn't have Vtec, just VVT-Li. And it hits at 6200 RPM's unless you program it differently. Honda and Acura have Vtc, Toyota has VVT-i and VVT-Li. You are a dumbass.

Adosdrummer you're a dumbass first of all he was not sitting at 4k rpm he was cruising at 4k rpm and just cause an engine has intake and exhaust doesn't mean is loud and since your not familiar with the 2zz engine let me help you out, you hear the intake more than the exhaust but only when its fully open at 4k rpm 1st gear doesn't take much to keep it there therefor is not as loud.

actually, i think it is fake.... i didnt at first, but i watched it like 4 times and i noticed that he was sitting at 4k rpm and he def would have an exaust and intake if he was actually that fast, so his car would have been making much more noise at 4k. and when he floored it he had no bogging or hesitation

ya hes right LIFT is Toyota's form of VTECH. it packs that extra punch at high rpms. the VVTL-i kicks in at or around 4-5K. thats why the GTS have such horrible low gear torque because they only have that top end rush. the lift bolts can break and its reccomended u replace em early to prevent that

What your trying to say is "VVTl-i is toyotas form of i-vtec" vtec is equal to vvtl but vvtl as far as i know is non existent besides in the intelligent form. The lift bolts break in the pre-03 form. Only 00-02 have to worry about that. Lift engagement is at 6 to 6.2k.

actually even with the new style bolts, it will not prevent them from breaking... Let's just say, those new style lift bolts will last longer. Speaking of that, i need to check mine.. Recently changed it to the new style lift bolts 1 yr ago..

Rev limiter is 8450 people. Ivan, the engine is made to be able to go up that high. You need to remove your tampon next time you go for a drive and get to fuel cutoff.

the turbo's are made for that kinda abuse tho. while i wouldnt necessarily push it past 8 like that, it still can pull well into 7.5-8 and the LIFT sounds beautiful! great vid

ya lol i thought the GTS all were outfitted with a 1.8L Turbo but unfortunately i just recently learned that its only the valve angles that are slanted which give the pistons more room to fire giving it "lift". toyota shooda put a turbo on the GTS from the factory it be a fucking rice rocket then

The video is legit, but this guy definated screwed around with the safety specs on his car. You're absolutely NOT suppose to rev the engine to 8500+. The Celica's fuel cuts off at 8350 rpms, and after 2002, Toyota reset the cutoff to 7800 rpms. You rev it any higher than that, then expect to rebuild your engine every 15,000 miles.
