@jonathanburr89 I think it all depends on how hard, and what motivates the hit. A clip round the lug hole is ok, as long as its not malicious. Our little one gets one every now and then, not hard, although when she punches me back, we both end up laughing and play fighting. love is knowing that an action is done with the best intentions and not because of some egotistical power trip
i got hit while i was kid, if i didnt i would still be carrying knives around with me and probably in jail or dead. Hitting kid's by their parents should be allowed only if it is absalutely necessary, or you can risk losing your child to something worse, thats what i think anyway. Im not saying a bloddy uppercut to the jaw or anything but a slap would put them in discipline much more than 2 minutes sitting on the naughty step to an angry kid
Well said, so many other ways to punish like sending to bed with no dinner, baning them from seeing friends for a week and the big one you can have ready is taking a hammer to the xbox.

Hitting ANYONE is never necessary. Violence does not instil anything other than fear.

Hitting the children teaches then to hit when things get too difficult so they don't get to understand co-operation.
