I guess if you try hard enough and long enough you can tear down anything good. Too bad some individuals only goal is to tear down and highlight the negative. They are usually ignorant, arrogant, bigoted or a combination of all three.
actually ATA and BLOODS are out of clifton as far as i know. that was a while ago when i was still in CHS. but ATA broke up and Bloods moved away. now its just messy =]
I just moved to Clifton in August 2008. I just happen to live in one of the "nicer" areas. Everybody in my neighborhood is white and friendly, As long as we keep the un-desirables out, I am good.
Clifton problem now is that they love to sneak into your yard when your not there and cite you for simple things like your grass to high or your inflatable pool is 2" too high! But that only happens if your neighbor is calling on you,meanwhile more serious problems in the city get ignored such as trees that Clifton planted not being trimmed!!! Walk around Clifton now,and many of these little trees have branches sticking out at eye level! If they were our trees we'd get a ticket!!!
Clifton was a beautiful city when I lived right next door in Passaic. I loved living in Passaic from 1961-1974. I saw Passaic going down the drain during that time. I never thought it would spread to Clifton and some of the other surrounding cities.

Enough of Clifton is still okay though, the lousy parts are the areas bordering Passaic and Paterson. The latter two are now full of low lives a.k.a. ghetto people that ruined the area. Most of the decent people left those cities and moved to shitty country towns in Sussex County. If it was up to me ALL ghetto people would be shot. Then Passaic and Paterson would be okay.
I lived in Clifton from 1968 to 1997. My biggest gripe is that the cliffs overlooking Great Notch were not preserved. They were really splendid and unique, and we let them get ground to dust. Irreplaceable...
I grew up in Clifton for 27 years..It's a shame what I see around when I go back to vist my parents who still live in the Lakeview section..What a disgrace, clifton was so different growing up compared to now.
